I love your comments about Tim Tebow's recruitment and the many ripple effects it had throughout college football. I also wanted to add on to that and mention that it also would have effected Cam Newton because if Tebow wasn't there, there's a good chance that he would've stayed at UF and Auburn does not win it all in 2010.

Urban Meyer is a top 10 coach of all time and did some unbelievable things at Florida. For a short amount of time. That’s his issue. He’s like the Jose Mourinho of college football, which is a massive compliment and also an insult. Meyer’s history is entering places, having instant and massive success, and then burning out and leaving in controversy. It happened at UF and OSU. He demands too much of his players and just isn’t a very good leader. After awhile, his message gets stale, the intensity wears off, and he’s pushed his older guys too far. That’s why Florida fell apart in 2010. After the 2009 SECCG, they were absolutely spent. There’s a reason that Nick Saban’s teams were always more consistent than Urban’s were, his style of coaching was a lot better suited for consistency and long term sustainability.

In my opinion, Netflix left out a lot of details about the Urban Meyer tenure. They left out the turmoil of 2010 and his departure. I think a lot of people don’t really get the point of the documentary. For 15 years now, the Urban Meyer Gators have been dragged through the mud by fans and media for being thugs and all that. The thing is, you never heard their side of everything. You also never appreciated truly how great these teams were. Some of the best in CFB history. This is them telling you their story. Form their view. That’s what makes it, “Untold.” So it sounds to me like the people that didn’t like it just wanted a documentary that was gonna keep up the same narrative they’ve been convinced of for 15 years. They got something different than that. They got the “Untold” part.

Meyer also had the most felons in the NCAA for five straight seasons which undoubtedly will be forever remembered as the most for any coach or program in college football history. Oh yeah, let's not forget those felons also included a freakin serial killer! Not that anything matters past that but when he left the program he also showed us what a joke he actually is since he said it was for family reasons that he was retiring but we all know in hindsight it's because he saw what was coming with Saban and knew he would never win another title. Totally proving my point by taking the Ohio State Job where he stepped into a top-five team already put together. Finally when he goes to the NFL and the team needs an actual coach who can build something we finally got to see just how good he is. How did that work out again?😂😅 LMFAO 😁🤣

It was garbage. He inherited a brilliant team and left the program in peices. He should have been punished for hiding the criminal behavior of key players that he kept on the team. Glad he is out of football.

Ends justify the means I guess. Stack a team with questionable talented players. Let them run amuck and try and cleanse the pallet with Tebow. Pretty disgusting tbh

The doc was great. It was about the overall talent and mentality of the team as a whole. It would take 20+ episodes to talk about every single star and/or player with off the field issues. People who aren’t Gator fans think this was a just a team full of ruthless criminals. They spent 20 mins talking about how Brandon James and another player bought $20 worth of weed from an undercover police officer. Do we really need to sit and go thru every dumb mistake somebody made? When you find out why they didn’t kick anyone off the team you will have better understanding and will probably shed a tear.
@WilliamsPinch
@WilliamsPinch Жыл бұрын
I don’t think that was the problem. They glossed over how this guy gave kids who were already prone to impulsive behavior too many get out of jail free cards if they balled. The 09/10 locker room was probably hell because they had no real honor code.

They didn’t kick anyone off the field because a player, who they kicked off the team previously for being a domestic abuser, died of an overdose some time after. That’s not tear worthy.
@D865Mack
@D865Mack Жыл бұрын
@@WilliamsPinch my point exactly, too many of you non gator fans are under the impression this was a team full of criminals doing wild stuff every week. It was not that deep. Brandon James who was one of the best return men in the history of college football got suspended over $20 worth of weed. Cam Newton who was the top dual threat qb in the country in high school was kicked off the team for buying stolen laptops. It’s nowhere near as deep as you non gator fans keep trying to make it. Aaron Hernandez was there but got in zero trouble. No cover ups, he was just a normal player. There’s no story to tell about him.
