Ono got circle shaped uchimata unorthodox Maruiama got classic uchimata I think maruiama is the best and mesmerising.

I agree I prefer Maruyama's Uchi Mata

When the team was here I saw both Maruyama and Ono do Uchi Mata up close. My take-away was that Ono could get into Uchi Mata position from angles you would not expect very quickly. Maruyama may look effortless but the leg strength he can apply to Uchi Mata is extreme, he lifted my son (83 lbs) with his leg (Uchi Mata) to inversion at full leg extension. He swung my son around from there like a carnival ride until he was back on the ground, but geez, if Maruyama didn't keep his hands on my boy he probably could have launched my boy like a catapult with one leg

Yes that's because they strength train parallel to judo they're all jacked and muscular and will have easier time throwing someone

You've actually met Maruyama?

@@dan8085 Yes, the Men's Japan National Judo Team came to Hawaii and gave a clinic 12 days ago. My son got to randori with Maruyama, unfortunately my video camera ran out memory so I only caught where they bowed. At the fan photo session I shook his hand, asked him if his right foot/ankle was ok, and got great pics of him with my son

Hi Chadi! But what happens when he throws his opponent but he also falls to the ground, as it happens over and over in this video? Is it accounted as "success" in the Judo competition? Shouldn't a good throw be that you throw your opponent but you keep standing in a good position? :-D
@Chadi5 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, the goal is to land your opponent on their shoulders and flat on their back(Ippon), what happens to you and how you land doesn't matter.
@tomastelensky-vlog87235 жыл бұрын
wow, thanks for super fast reply and for info on judo competitions! OK, then at least for me subjectivelly, more aesthetic and more samurai hero-like is to stay on your feet :-D
@Chadi5 жыл бұрын
@@tomastelensky-vlog8723 yes in competition they commit fully they end up falling with them to secure the ippon against a high level judoka, but against an untrained thug on the streets you'll stay standing no problem, watch Maruyama in osaka 2019 he pulled an incredible Uchi Mata and stayed standing.

Chadi i think Ono's uchimata has changed a little in the last few years and he looks much more muscolar Nd phisically strong. In già beginnings he was more graceful,What do you think about it?
