If you have high astigmatism, and don't have access to these kinds of products; you can buy a set of cheap prescripton glasses with flat lenses, pop the lenses and attach them to the goggles. Attaching them is hard but if you get it correct, it works perfectly.
@GGoffroad211 ай бұрын

@@GGoffroad2 designed 3d print parts. Outer shape fits goggle frame and inner circles fit the lenses. Tiny bit of hot glue at 4 points holds it really well.

I just got mine for the V2 goggles…what a difference for $50. No need to upgrade to Goggles 2 for now. Extended the life of the V2 for another 2 years at the least! Best $50 ever spent on FPV.

3:55 the holder for the frames are made using an SLS or MJF printing method, basically they take like a material in powder form and they either use a chemical binder or a laser to bond them together. it's very cool, pretty strong, and fairly cheap to produce!
@bengineer_0013 Жыл бұрын
Looking at the surface texture, it's definitely SLS. And because SLS is very limited in material selection, it's probably some sort of Nylon.
@nelsondcp Жыл бұрын
So I know this won't be an option for everybody, but I have astigmatism and I found the best solution for me was disposable contact lenses. They also have the added benefit of you not having to fiddle with glasses, putting them on and taking them off as you use your FPV goggles.
@ewaldwasscher7251 Жыл бұрын
I tried that, but for me with -1.75 and -2.25 astigmatism contact lenses hardly ever remain in the proper orientation for a longer period. As soon as they rotate my sight gets substantially worse. Therefore I prefer corrective lenses.
@nelsondcp Жыл бұрын
@@ewaldwasscher7251 the one issue I had was the goggles fan keeping your lenses from fogging up dry out your contacts. And then when you eventually remember to blink they get stuck to the inside of your eyelid :P :D not pleasant but I have learnt to consciously blink when I am flying. I have soft gel contacts and they do a good job of centering themselves and rotating to the correct orientation with a few blinks. My script is -3.23 and -5.5, pretty bad eyesight but contacts work for me.

If you need a bigger positive correction (long sighted) the inbuilt adjustment often isn't enough anyway, regardless of astigmatism. It also isn't clear to me what adjustment you need for what type of goggles. I still use some quite old Skyzones without any adjustment. I was told at the time that I needed whatever dioptres would give sharp focus at 6 to 8 feet. That would have been +1.25 to +1.5 but actually I need more like +3 to +3.5, so the focussing point must be much closer than 6 to 8 feet - with those goggles, anyway. In the end I 3D printed some frames and cut lenses out from some Amazon cheapo glasses. They work absolutely fine - but I don't have astigmatism. However, if it isn't clear what strength lenses are really needed, it could be an expensive business to keep trying them out.

When I bought Goggles Integra a few months ago, the first thing I did was going to the optics shop and let my eyes measured, as I have no dioptries but cylinders only. Then I ordered custom lenses at Honsvr and it works perfectly 😉

Thanks for the information. This is particularly useful for far-sighted people, like me. When the goggles have a range of +2 to -8, the +2 is not enough for me. So I have been hanging on to my old DJI goggles because because my glasses fit in them.

This was one of the reasons I got the goggles 2, the focus adjustment. Thankfully I'm well within its limits at around -4 for each eye with no astigmatism so it works well. I wore contacts for a long time but as I've aged (54) I can't focus close in while wearing contacts anymore so I went back to glasses, progressive lenses to he accurate. Side note, what is that pad material you have on your Goggles 2, I've been trying to achieve better fitment. I have an aftermarket on and it works fine and is reasonably comfortable but if there's something better I'd like to try

I love the V2 because I can wear my glasses inside. That's what I don't like about the Goggles 2 as my normal glasses don't fit. So I use older glasses and I have to switch them out. Quite a hassle. I'd prefer just to keep my glasses instead of having the right insets and having to remove my glasses.

On the lens inserts the 3D printed parts look like they could be SLS rather than resin. I don’t think resin would produce a texture like that, SLS however uses a powder and a laser to melt it hence the texture on the parts.

They don't offer astigmatism correction though, but I have only 0.25 so that's okay with me. They're a bit bulky and uncomfortable when my goggles are sitting on top of my head, but I don't think it can get any better. Would be curious to see if those are just a rebranding or if they're actually better than the ones that have been selling in aliexpress for so long, which feel plasticky

I own goggles 2, HDZero goggles, walksnail v1, Walksnail X and have owned 04X and goggles v2. I have a set of 04X Pro's coming but so far the 04X had the best optics(lens not screen) with the goggles v2 ranking high, just wish I could've changed the gap easily for proper focal distance, add oled and it's "ideal" besides weight but I'm willing to trade off heavily for good optics.

Question is open to anyone. I had LASIK surgery but my sight was "maximized" for my computer monitor distance. So it did a great job there. I just got a Cetus Lite FPV kit VR02 goggles and can't see with them on my face. I have a gooseneck phone holder rigged up to hold it out in front of my face say six or so inches and it's clear. On my face is blurry. I also have a Quest 2 and have no issues whether it's near or far sighted. I know that's an apple vs orange; I don't know if it's those goggles or if ABC $500 goggles would have the same issue. My sister just had hers done but one eye is for distance the other near/reading.
