Hey, thanks for the mention. I designed the motor hook mainly for the sides of wooden cupboards / cabinets and made it balance with just 1 screw for those that want to limit the amount of screws they have to make - those 3D commander thingies are awesome too! I skipped through most of the video but a "window-shopping" format for 3D printed stuff is kind of ...meh. Printing the parts to check for design flaws and hands-on footage of using the prints would be a ton better. Just my two cents... Feel free to check my recent 3D-printed Tinyhawk case insert video for ideas ;)

12:00 You mention the overhangs on the SD card holder. I've been printing TPU parts and such a thin overhang created issues. Since I have the fortune of using a dual extruding printer (creator max 2) with removable PVA support material, I drew in a solid support (edges of the object going in) under the overhangs instead of letting the software build supports. This makes the overhangs sharp and clean. I can just peel out the material and it doesn't even need to be dissolved. presto, perfect tiny overhangs to hold the GPS in, in this case would be the SD cards. It would basically be printing the cards into the design and peeling them out.

PLA Plus works just fine for the TS100's tool holder piece. It does need that bearing installed for it to work. For that SD card holder you'll need to have a nice and leveled bed a plus if your printing head is newer. Then use the "Tree" support option if you don't have a dual extruder for use with a PLA supports.

hey jb, thx for a great and top quality video again :) i am happy i saw this vid yesterday and i am already printig a lot stuff from here like the isdt bg screen saver etc. i also like the wall mount (motor hanger) and already printed this too, but there is a big but i realized after printing. i wouldnt recommend to use this style mount. the typical wall mounts where you hang the quad into on its frame is much better. if you ask why, easy: the motor hanger holds the quad just on one motor and in a way, that the motor cant handle for long term like hanging all week or even longer. because the bearings in the motor are made for spinning, not holding "force sideways" on just one point. same for the shaft. on long term the motors will die, i promise. just a tip of nobody. please go on and feed us with more vids! :) have a great sunday.

That SD holder is an easy print, just go slow. You print it with the totally flat side on the bed and just let it rip. The tiny overhangs that hold the card edges will print in mid air no problem as long as you have a parts cooling fan.

Nice selection. I add sticky felt to a lot of things, so the covers and the diopter HDO things probably need that! For the Chris TPU issue, I bought ninjatek cheetah filament to see if that will work. Most TPU filaments say they are around 95A. So far, I did drill out the antenna holes and used different types of "bushing" within. Some did work and bring the frequency higher, but not easily. I also tried drilling a hole on each side of the antenna and added nails. That seemed to work best so far, but still not good enough. Still need to test a few other things and will also print the same things once I get the cheetah TPU

careful with covering up receivers and VTXs, etc. with printed plastic... you'll lose heat dissipation and may well melt the plastic. Watch your thermals and at the very least, check the temperature before and after covering something and restricting airflow.
@licensetodrive99303 жыл бұрын
There's no issue covering up receivers, even ones with telemetry because their output power & bandwidth is so incredibly low compared to VTX's which can certainly run into problems if they don't have enough airflow. Recently as a test I powered up a Shark Byte TX5S.1 VTX without any active cooling and measured its temperature with a thermal imager, stopped the test after 4 minutes when the main processing chip reached 120 celcius.
