As Bruce had continued to fight crime even after seeing the worst, unlike Bale's Batman he never took a temporary retirement. By the time its BvS Bruce has actually himself become the villian. Its only after Superman's sacrifice that we get to see the start of his redemption.

I don't know if I'm crazy or if people are completely misconstruing Campea, but it's obvious by what he meant. Without Whedon's attempt, the film would not have been finished before deadline and he had to deliver a semi-coherent film that compromises a lot to tightly pack in the whole film to comport with the 2 hr mandate set by WB. Campea wasn't saying Whedon's version was better than Snyder's or that he delivered the great film ever, it was he fixed a sinking ship.

he should have used all the Zack's material and then edit it out properly to make it in under 2hr. instead he removed most of the original content and changed script and reshoots where reshoots were even necessary. like that martha and lois scene, like clark and lois , martha farm scene, Barry father jail meetup, superman vs justice league fight, Batman motivation , steffanwolf motivation, Whole cyborg backstory , Themiscara Amazon fight etc etc, this things are same in both version but still different. their is really no clear answer why he changed and reshoots that much, but those were clearly bad decisions and people should speak for his behalf. jack proved us that his version was far superior , he didn't even needed to reshoot stuff even after 4-5 years of shoot done. the only scene he reshoot is Batman joker nightmare scene and epiloge MM and bruce scene., thats it.

@@joeyjerry1586 Oh no need to start an argument, people like what they like. From what I´ve seen though, a vast majority consider AoU a huge step back from the first one. In my personal opinion, Ultron was a disgrace, Quicksilver was wasted, the whole Hulk and Black Widow romance subplot was poorly done, the way they defeat the big bad makes no sense (literally sends each and every one of his copies to fight, when even one was enough to keep him alive?), etc. It´s hard not to compare Whedon´s Justice League reshoots with Age of Ultron in terms of writing and tone.

Place yourself in Whedon's shoes... Take the Snyder cut and edit it down to 2 hours and see how it stands up... remembering you've got to have a kid-friendly rating for the studio to greenlight it.... You'd have to lose so much material - you'd have to lose plot points... Whedon's cut isn't good because it has to make so many changes to fit the brief he was given... but there are some good scenes in there that are there because he has to get the plot going faster... 1 hour into Whedon's cut they are rescuing Cyborgs father from the island. 1 hour into Snyder's cut and Steppenwolf has only just got the first mother box... You've got 6 episodes and an epilogue - what are you cutting from each to get it under 2 hours?
