I love Steve Perry. Saw all his concerts in NJ. I also had a chance to meet him at the Philadelphia Spectrum in the 80's when the concert had Sammy Hagar The Tubes, John Mellencamp and alot of many bands. I went with a friend back then and rode on his harleys. Thinking we had high seats. He walked me to the front stage and listened to all the bands. Best concert I went too and then Journey gorgeous Steve. Afterwards I got a picture of band and then me and Steve 😂 Very upset cannot find them. Steve if you see this I would love to see you again. You are a Rock Star and have every CD's your group put out It's not the same without you. Saw them once with Steve Augeri and then once with Arnel. They were good but have not seen them since. One thing I have to say and I am having a senior moment turned 60 march 30th. I also love your drummer. He does a song and alot of other fans says he sings just like you. I hope one day I get to see you and get that picture I lost. You rock! One more thing do not be mad but I do like Neal Shon may be misspelled but he is a great musician also. You have no idea! there is a paper written about his voice that is available via the internet and is free. type in "analysis of Steve berry's voice " and you will find it. it has become known as THE best analysis written on vocal singing so much so that Brian Scott (I think that's his name) said that the paper actually help HIM to be a better engineer working with vocalists!

Actually no. he co-wrote most if not 95% of them. there were very few that he did write. and he didn't do coke or drink because as he said in a written interview that he told herbie "I won't make you regret this ever." that's one of the reasons why he worked so hard.

I think the issue here is race not the song. Both were good singer and have their own accomplishment. Steve was very lucky to have a band that make him famous and love by so many fans. But you have to remember he leave the band hanging and let his ego prevail. He think he was the master of his own universe that can dictate whatever he want. So the rest of the member replace him. Now what? You blame the replacement because he can.sing like Steve. You Steve Perry fans suck. Why not let him sing side by side and let hear their voice to enjoy. Move on people. sharon mcmanus have you heard what this video were Rolie was talking about the tape that Herbie want Rolie and Neil heard. Greg Rolie flatly said no to Steve bco he said Steve was crooning. So how can Greg can handpicked him for the role of the frontmen. My point in my comment is not about Steve being a bad singer. It is about the fans who hate Arnel race that they can't accept him as the new frontman for Journey. Rember he was auditioned by Neal and Arnel did not steal Steve role. That is all about the point I was trying to tell. They are.both excellent vocalist that's my opinion but some fans keep coming to that issue on what Steve did to the band. No question that they got famous when he was the frontman but a group is defined as consist of more than one person. Steve can not be Journey by definitions. He need the other member to ssucced so to speak. That's my opinion.
