Lyrics:
Opened my eyes to a new kind of way
All the good times that you saved
Are you feeling,
You feeling that way too
Or am I just,
Am I just a fool
When the summer's gone
She'll be there standing by the light
Once she's been to where she's gone to
She should know wrong from right
A new road's waiting, you touched my life
Soft and warm on a summer's night
You're the only one, the only one I love
The lovely one, I'm thinking of

Pioneer cassette player, amp, equalizer, 6 innc door speakers in front and rear, and of course 6x9s in the rear deck blowing out this and many other unbelievable bands of my high school years. 74 to 78. No one can match that time period for living life. Apparently neither could my system that I blew out several times. Thank you 70s!!😎

@jerrylane3188, Class of ‘78 as well. Great times. My road sounds were a Craig Road Rated system with some kind of amp, can’t recall, a couple of Jenson 6X 9’s and two box speakers of a forgotten brand. Kind of a mix, but sounded great in my Gran Torino.

Me too!!!! Nothing like cruising down the strip crank this song up, Windows down, hair blowing in the wind, you pull up to a red light, look over and a bunch of in their 20s or near it sitting beside you, you're jammin out to Feeling This Way!! Pretending to hold the microphone like Steve does singing away....lol PRICELESS!!!! Difference in us and them blasting our stuff is....WHAT??? If you're my age you will say the same thing which I think you are, drum roll.....the answer is....OURS IS REAL MUSIC!!!! And AWESOMELY GREAT AT THAT!!! (Is awesomely a word? Well it is now, that's another meaning for Journey!!!)

Difference is now I appreciate them. I play music like this for my grandkids hoping that they realize there’s so much more than what they listen to now. Hope this music never dies.

After all of these years, I can only say, ‘Wow...what a singer.’ Steve Perry’s vocals generally render me speechless, just as they did back in 1978, when this album first was unwrapped and placed on the turntable at the record store in which I worked. After about five minutes of listening, I think we also said, ‘Who IS that guy?’

I was born in 1979. I was a child of the 80’s and a teen of the 90’s. I don’t complain because my “coming of age” was with Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, STP, NIN, Nirvana, etc. But the older I get (43 now), the more I see how my generation was the last to know what “cool” *really* is. Starting in the last year or so of the 90’s, music became industry manufactured garbage, with performers (because they aren’t artists) surgically enhanced Brat dolls. You though... to be a teen with Journey - I am a little envious. I would go back, anytime.
