Like I said in my comment I like it. It gives a strong Radiohead video vibe and that's a good thing in this case; artsy, crazy, simple, very well shot, technically a very well made video that doesn't explain anything and it shouldn't or else it would be corny.

How a person responds to music, is a deeply personal thing. Many, if not most of you, were exposed to this song many years after it's initial release, this is not your fault, it is just how life unfolds... I heard this song, when I was about 20, (along with the entire Unknown Pleasures album), when it was first released. This gloomy (later to be called goth) music, touched a part of my soul, that had never been touched in this manner before, it was dark, it was introspective, it forced me to look deep inside myself and it scared me, yet I could not look away, I could not stop listening, I really felt Ian was stimulating a part of me, that had never been exposed before, I loved it, yet in some twisted way, hated how it made me feel, but I was hooked and the bottom line was.... IT MADE ME FEEL....(and it won't end)

IMO it's almost like Led Zep's kids have a band and duck they are DARK. Like you thought Zep could render epic but these kids do epically dark. So dark in fact that the lead singer is romantically in love with his predetermined death and there ain't a fucking thing you can do about it. The cold world has no place for that warm comforting salvation of suicide. And it can't come soon enough. Now that's dark. Rest in peace, Ian.🖤

this video is so far removed from the visual language associated with the sounds of joy division, and to be honest i think its quite disrespectful to the likes of kevin cummins and peter saville and any other visual artists that were involved with the visual presentation of the band prior to the project. This video is far from celebrating the album, it undermines it. They should given the opportunity to a young film maker/ visual artist that would have shown a level of respect and responsibility this project deserved. Creatively exploring the sonic landscape of Joy Division in a new visual way whilst still drawing influences from the likes of burroughs, the manchester landscape at the time, brutalism, the depth of ians lyrics etc... and not make something like this ....

This is the room, the start of it all, No portrait so fine, only sheets on the wall, I've seen the nights, filled with bloodsport and pain, And the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained. Where will it end? Where will it end? Where will it end? Where will it end? These are your friends from childhood, through youth, Who goaded you on, demanded more proof, Withdrawal pain is hard, it can do you right in, So distorted and thin, distorted and thin. Where will it end? Where will it end? Where will it end? Where will it end? This is the car at the edge of the road, There's nothing disturbed, all the windows are closed, I guess you were right, when we talked in the heat, There's no room for the weak, no room for the weak, Where will it end? Where will it end? Where will it end? Where will it end? This is the room, the start of it all, Through childhood, thorugh youth, I remember it all, Oh, I've seen the nights filled with bloodsport and pain. And the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained. Where will it end? Where will it end? Where will it end? Where will it end

This is the room, the start of it all, C'est la pièce, le commencement de tout, No portrait so fine, only sheets on the wall, Pas de beaux portraits, seulement des feuilles de papier sur les murs, I've seen the nights, filled with bloodsport and pain, J'ai vu les nuits, emplies de sport sanglant et de douleur, And the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained. Et les corps obtenus, les corps obtenus. Where will it end ? Where will it end ? Où cela finira t'il ? Où cela finira t'il ? Where will it end ? Where will it end ? Où cela finira t'il ? Où cela finira t'il ? These are your friends from childhood, through youth, Ce sont tes amis d'enfance, dans ta jeunesse, Who goaded you on, demanded more proof, Qui t'ont incité, demandé plus de preuves, Withdrawal pain is hard, it can do you right in, Le retrait de la douleur est difficile, ça peut te faire du bien, So distorted and thin, distorted and thin. Si distordu et mince, distordu et mince. Where will it end ? Where will it end ? Où cela finira t'il ? Où cela finira t'il ? Where will it end ? Where will it end ? Où cela finira t'il ? Où cela finira t'il ? closevolume_off This is the car at the edge of the road, C'est la voiture au bord de la route, There's nothing disturbed, all the windows are closed, Il n'y a rien de dérangé, toutes les fenêtres sont fermées, I guess you were right, when we talked in the heat, Je pense que tu avais raison, quand nous parlions dans la chaleur, There's no room for the weak, no room for the weak. Il n'y a pas de place pour le faible, pas de place pour le faible. Where will it end ? Where will it end ? Où cela finira t'il ? Où cela finira t'il ? Where will it end ? Where will it end ? Où cela finira t'il ? Où cela finira t'il ? This is the room, the start of it all, C'est la pièce, le commencement de tout, Through childhood, through youth, I remember it all, A travers l'enfance, à travers la jeunesse, je me souviens de tout, Oh, I've seen the nights filled with bloodsport and pain, Oh, J'ai vu les nuits, emplies de sport sanglant et de douleur, And the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained, the bodies obtained. Et les corps obtenus, les corps obtenus, les corps obtenus. Where will it end ? Where will it end ? Où cela finira t'il ? Où cela finira t'il ? Where will it end ? Where will it end ? "withdrawal pain" veut aussi dire "la douleur du sevrage", en le comprenant ainsi, les paroles peuvent prendre un autre sens. Même si Ian Curtis n'était pas connu pour sa consommation de drogue mais plutôt pour son épilepsie... J'ai connu les 2 alors... Je m'interroge. C’était tout de même un super poète, chanteur, et il reste regretté bien que peu connu par comparé à son influence. beaucoup d'artistes l'ont cité comme référence.

i’m pretty sure this is referencing adam from the bible. “this is the room...the start of it all” refers to the tree of knowledge. after he ate the apple, everything went downhill. he became aware of everything, which is represented by the people all staring at the man, and then him going into a fit of rage. then he just has the cops called on him or some shit so idk about that part but that’s just my interpretation, if there is anything to interpret.

"Shite" in a Mancunian accent, 40 times. This is dreadful, probably the worst video ever shot in Berlin to support a product of this genre.

As a Joy Division fan for 40 years I can say "THIS IS SHIT!!!!" No way Ian Curtis would approve of this fluff. The rest of the members should step in and have this removed form the internet.
