How a person responds to music, is a deeply personal thing. Many, if not most of you, were exposed to this song many years after it's initial release, this is not your fault, it is just how life unfolds... I heard this song, when I was about 20, (along with the entire Unknown Pleasures album), when it was first released. This gloomy (later to be called goth) music, touched a part of my soul, that had never been touched in this manner before, it was dark, it was introspective, it forced me to look deep inside myself and it scared me, yet I could not look away, I could not stop listening, I really felt Ian was stimulating a part of me, that had never been exposed before, I loved it, yet in some twisted way, hated how it made me feel, but I was hooked and the bottom line was.... IT MADE ME FEEL....(and it won't end)

IMO it's almost like Led Zep's kids have a band and duck they are DARK. Like you thought Zep could render epic but these kids do epically dark. So dark in fact that the lead singer is romantically in love with his predetermined death and there ain't a fucking thing you can do about it. The cold world has no place for that warm comforting salvation of suicide. And it can't come soon enough. Now that's dark. Rest in peace, Ian.🖤

this video is so far removed from the visual language associated with the sounds of joy division, and to be honest i think its quite disrespectful to the likes of kevin cummins and peter saville and any other visual artists that were involved with the visual presentation of the band prior to the project. This video is far from celebrating the album, it undermines it. They should given the opportunity to a young film maker/ visual artist that would have shown a level of respect and responsibility this project deserved. Creatively exploring the sonic landscape of Joy Division in a new visual way whilst still drawing influences from the likes of burroughs, the manchester landscape at the time, brutalism, the depth of ians lyrics etc... and not make something like this ....
