I love my Grill Gun. Zero regrets with that purchase. The only difference I'm aware of is the barrel length. The Grill Gun is longer, so could be more versatile, depending on ones needs. It lights charcoal like a champ👍

I have the LSG verticle offset and I use the fire managment basket, long cook are actually causing my coal bed suffer. I may pull out the basket and grate and place the bottom of my box with fire bricks and establish my coat bed of that. I'm not getting the bed of coals that I want and long cook are becoming very inconsistent. What would be some good tips to maximize my bed and keep temp more stable

I am interested to see how the coal bricks work for you. I have not tried that though. I would suggest in the fire management basket to put another layer of expanded metal but going in a right angle direction (90 degrees to the lower layer) that way you get more use of the embers and they won’t filter to the bottom before being completely consumed. See if that would work. Appreciate the comment and question and thanks for watching.

The Su-V gun has a diffuser plate inside it that makes the flame more concentrated and easier to control. Searing with the Grill Gun on my kamado I accidentally set the gasket on fire 😅. Doesn't seem to have hurt it, it's a fire resistant gasket after all, but it made me paranoid enough I bought a Su-V gun. By the same token, if you try to light lump charcoal with a Su-V gun the sparks will burn the shit out of you. Even with the Grill Gun lighting lump I step back and hold it at arm's length. I saw the video you did with ribs on the IVS vs the offset, and I'm wondering how much difference the setup in the IVS makes. Chris told me that for a similar flavor profile to an offset in the IVS would probably be 40% wood, as 50% would be more smoke than most people want. Fat E's BBQ did a livestream showing a setup for it pretty recently that looked like close to that amount of wood (with a mixture of lump and briquettes from B&B) and he said he got pretty close to his LSG offset with that.
