Arrma Kraton 6s Running 1250KV Motor (Belted Badlands MX38, 20T Pinion)

Replaced the 1650 with a 1250kv motor in the 6s Kraton.

This is the combo I'm putting into my kraton. I feel like it's the best choice. The spectrum motor is exactly what the max6 needs. Not the 1650 4985 behemoth.

Thanks mate for that information I'm running 8s esc and I've got the same motor here. So it's going on now. Take the washers out between front arms and hub's that will stop popping drive shafts. It worked for my 3 kraton's 👍👍👍😁

Nice set up !! I have the EXB running the Max6 and 4985 1650kv the motor just barely fits in. It rubs a little bit on bottom and the center cage pin sits right in between one of the groves in motor ! Don't get me wrong when it runs it runs good but if i didn't have so many diff issues in rear still waiting for the replacement for the rear to come in i rebuilt the diff with the "new limited slip" I spend more time wrenching than bashing not sure if made a good choice with EXB seams like i should be having more fun than wrenching:( PS, my bashing is only nominal small hills and ramp nothing extreme!

I been running the k8s system in my exb from day one ! It's the pretty well rounded system in my opinion for the exb I run it on 4s which acts like it's on 6s on 23t pin an on 6s is way wild but controllable haven't tapped in to 8s power yet 😁 nice video hope you enjoy the set up

I would say you had temp issues because its the weight of a 1/6th scale rig and your tire choice. When you modify the trucks to that point there is no weak point. I keep them as strong as I need for my style bashing but still keep them light. It looks good and I'd say now can be jumped out of a plane... hope you get it dialed in

I have dabbled with lower KV motors, even gearing it up a little (to compensate for speed), they tend to run cooler. I used to have an RC10GT with a lehner1200XL on 5s lipos, it never got hot even in the Ga summers, and would embarrass 1/8 buggies on the track

My EXB is supposed to be here in a couple days I ordered! I’m so glad I bought the 1250 spectrum motor/esc combo for it after watching this figured I wanted it over built for 6s so I don’t have to deal with heat issues! Although I am a little worried about fitting the 160 amp esc in there and having a solid mount a little ocd about that one...

Your truck is going to rip. The thing weighs almost 15 pounds so a stock EXB is going to rip with this combo.

It will fit. I ground off that little plastic lip on the mount and sanded it down smooth, then used Shoe Goo to attach my 8s esc. It's in there solid as a rock now.

It’s funny but I’m running the 1650 / Max6 combo in mine . It’s also fully upgraded like yours at just over 15lbs and I’m getting no heat issues at all . Only difference is I’m running stock tyres / wheels It must be the MX38’s that’s causing the motor to work harder .

I run my K8S system on my kraton exb I run it on 8s and a 23t pinion and the thing is just ballistic I managed to put the heat sink on by cutting off a little bit of the heat sink where it meets the body support pin area no heat issues but then again it’s winter ❄️

@@derekquinones8614 sounds true. Its like bicycle pedalling. Going as fast as you can on the lowest gearing will get tiring (hot) you have to work your ass off to keep the speed up. Thats why you shift up (gear up)

Glad you tried the 8s motor in the 6s! I have been running it for a bit now in my Kraton 6s on a 22t and it's amazing! I also have to 1650 that I used in the Kraton 6s and it was also good but the temps on the 1250kv are so cool and it just feels like it has more torque. With all the added weight of these fully options 6s the lower KV just suits it. Glad your loving this truck! Might want to try your 1650kv on your K8S with a 16t and a heat sink. In the cooler weather it actually works well in there and has more speed.

I have thought of it. I just got back from another rip with the K8S on the 800kv/39T 1:1 and I am liking it a lot. The mid power is crazy. Top is is only 6-7mph more though .

I have this exact same setup w/ a 22T pinion and it kinda sucks when not on 8s lol. It feels WAY slower than the 2050 w/ a 14-16T pinion.

Another great video. Thanks! I just got Kraton 6s v4. All stock. Only 2 runs on it. Need better tires. Could u recommend a belted tire other than ur Badlands belted. As they are probably to heavy and big for my stock Kraton. Also I need help with what diff Fluids grade I should use in front, middle and rear diffs? Ur setup runs perfect. I don't have a lot to spend on experimenting many different fluid grades. I really appreciate ur help. Thanks. Looking forward to watching more of ur great videos. Keep up the awesome work.

I did have the belted trenchers for awhile. They were okay. Duratrax does there 1/6 belted tires really well. But I am not sure if they make a 1/8 belted tire??

I just got a 6s V5 and am planning to swap in the 1250/160 system that my used Limitless came with, and put the 2050/150 in the Limitless for track racing. Wondering why you went with the Max6 in the EXB when you seemed to like the 1250 in your Kraton BLX and the Max6 system ran hot?

Jason have you had any problems with those tires wobbling like a bent axle? I have on tire that wobbles. Proline has a video about it just curious if you have had any issues.

Building out my Kraton EXB now and your video makes me wonder. I picked a Castle system, the 1717 motor with a Mamba Monster XL 8s esc. I'm planning on running a 20t pinion too. I don't have a lot of the heavy aluminum stuff on there like you do, but the EXB is definitely heavier than the stock Arrmas I have. I've watched a lot of videos on the Castle systems and people are reporting they really run cool, I'll have to see if I have problems like you did with the heat with this motor/pinion combo. For the record the 1717 barely fits just like this Spekturm you put in here. Looks to be about the same size.

Is that with stock v4 mount and 50t spur? Will the 50t spur fit 23-25t pinion. I also ordered a felony center with 46t spur incase it doesn't. Wanted to ask if it felt like lacking in top speed on 20t compared to stock and 1650? Any speed reading for it? Thanks and great video

I upgraded my pinion too and some reason it stops and u turn it back on it starts for like a couple minutes then stops again ? Could it be running too hot do I need a fan ? I see u have a fan which one is that ?
