I believe that JSU's trumpet skill gets overshadowed because other schools' sections have more power. They're consistently clean and balanced. Across the field they'd probably leave more to be desired. I'm sure a battle in front of the busses would be evaluated differently because the clarity would be more pronounced to the audience.

The fact is, you could distinguish the parts and hear how they all came together in JSU's version, while SU's sounded a hot ass mess. The camera does not affect timing, which was the problem with SU.

Lol I'm just now seeing this. Our section was stupid big 52 trumpets, and 20 were freshman... but If your standing where the section leader is, 2nds are on right, 1st in the middle and 3rds are on the left... But yea, predator was skatin hard lol... So was the guy next to him...Its expected the first, second and possibly the third game. And yea MOST of the first row was freshman... U can tell who freshman are... The ones who don't yank are lol.
