A teenager has been sentenced to life in prison for killing four students, wounding more and terrorizing Michigan’s Oxford High School in 2021. A judge Friday rejected pleas for a shorter sentence and ensured that Ethan Crumbley, 17, will not get an opportunity for parole.

This Judge did an outstanding job throughout the whole trial. He took the time to speak to each victim impact statement speakers which you don’t see very often. His comments before the sentencing were spot on and very well spoken. I know his job is not easy but again he has my upmost respect.

I havent checked in on the proceedings until now so its the first time ive seen Judge Rowe. His remarks at the end are so powerful and it laid out the whole truth and what i would say is total and just reason in the situation. It's encouraging to see a judge from my generation handling such an important case so well. And i just looked up info on him and he is legit a Michigan man that us in michigan should be proud of. Graduated high school in pontiac and studied law in Michigan too.

I have never met a parent so hateful to look at their child in that manner even if it was obvious to others. Stop forgetting that parents don't think their kids would do something like this no matter what signs there is. Punishing other people for the actions of another person is wrong. Legal precedent has stayed away from that for reasons that actually protect innocent. I understand your mad at what he did, but he's the perpetrator, not his family. This is just posturing, unfortunately. '24 is a big election year, not just because of the presidential race. Going to the greatest extreme legally allowable to ensure this boy will only leave prison through the morgue is what I base that apperception on. Besides, children can no longer be sentenced to death or life without parole without periodic review with an eye towards revision. I understand that a judge allowed the punishment for this kid, however that's not likely to stand the test of time. I'm curious to see just how many school shootings are prevented by the sentence, when set against preventive measures. Violent child offenders aren't known for their forethought.

😂 Judge is way out of line here , we don’t sentence 15 yr old kids , who was abused , bullied and autistic to life in prison , Judge said “ he read it in 3 days ,36 hours “ really ? You read it , but didn’t understand it Judge , lawless Laws here , we put those laws for a reason , not putting children under 18 to prison , this decision will be overturned , this is ridiculous , look at his explanation, and justification of his decision, he is repeating what prosecutors used during the trial , lazy Judge , mind as well execute the kid , life without parole? Are you kidding me ? Where did you got your education ? Angola ? He keep saying “ He could do this, he could do that , he could strop here and he could stop there” , sir , the kid was in a trans ,he was not thinking rationally , he was drenched , this is not was not a military operation by train soldiers that logic and thoughts and judgement entered into decision making by professional soldiers , Your justification of justifying your decision upon the normal military like operation which all you said could be taken in account ,resulting of changing your mind , no , it doesn’t apply here . You killed that kid . If it’s not overturned,l pray for your soul Judge . Made a grave mistake . We all try to understand the pain of the Victims loved ones ,but this kid should not take all the blame , most parents of these kids were terrible to their children , school bullying goes unanswered , Breaks the kids spirits early ages , kids who are bullies are bullied in their homes also , we as a society must take some responsibility, but certainly not to lock 15/ yr old life without parole , NO SIR YOU ARE OUT OF LINE HERE Do these judges take psychology classes during their educations ? This judge was the prosecutor, not the fair judge whom weighs the both side of the evidence and the facts , OMG are we okay here folks? We are falling apart , our justice system is in the hands of ignorant judges , Sorry to insult you but o can not help it because you are so ignorant and doesn’t deserve the branch it’s ASK nor AKS , it’s Count not Cunt ,lol This decision will,be overturned on appeal , kids lawyers know it . People if we can’t get a hold of our justice system one day we all, find ourselves front of these ignorance ,uneducated Spanish Inquisition one day . These type intent to become more king than king himself given the power of their positions , watch out ,whom ever appointed this judge should also fire him and use him as public defender .

Maybe so. But a capital trial is hugely expensive, requires teams of lawyers, and can last twenty years with appeals. That gives the killer a lot of media exposure, and the victims' families have to go through the trauma over and over. Life without parole is more merciful for the families, it's over and done. Also saves a great deal of taxpayer money, and spares us all a continuing controversy.

God's hand didn't prevent this from happening. God doesn't have hands, or anything else. God is a conceptual answer, to the question "why are we here, and how did we get here", back in tribal days, when people were ignorant of all we now know, about science, and physics, and the universe. People who believe, are not out of the tribal stage, of thinking, still. 😢

I truly hope Ethan gets the help he needs in prison and actually develops a conscience. He can still have a meaningful life in prison and not let the rest of his life be a waste. He is, though, where he belongs. I hope and pray that the victims can now move on with their lives. I wish for them to finally find some peace. I pray that at least some time in the future they can move past this.

Wow, he has been eating well during his incarceration. They will haft to keep him in isolation wherever he goes. If an opportunistic inmate get his hands on him, his life sentence will not be that long.

You’re misinformed. He asked for help, he told them he was seeing demons and ghosts and being told to kill. The school and parents are to blame imho.

through their sworn duty as appointed officers of the court. It must be terrible, but I respect them for their devotion to our judicial system in carrying out their responsibilities
