I live in Mesa County, was the director of the election department before she was elected, and even ran the recall against her so I admit I’m extremely biased. But if she had gotten convicted then just shut her mouth for a few months, she would probably be either free or a much lighter sentence right now. I 100% believe that sentence was a direct result of her continued assertion that she did nothing wrong and was being framed. The smart move would have been to hold all that in until after sentencing. Then she could have said whatever she wanted. For someone who has historically been pretty decent at working the system, she messed up his time.
