Me and my wife got married at a tiny church with like 30 ppl all close family and friends. We spent like 1000$ and it was awesome. We are still married happily 7 years later. Expensive weddings are BS and unnecessary and if your lady insists on it at least imo it is a huge red flag and you have probably ignored many little red flags leading up to that.

I am jealous 😂 that sounds amazing. Not all wives want a big wedding and I am proof. My husband and I wanted to have a super small intimate wedding but his family ended up inviting relatives on his side that neither of us really cared about or wanted there. The oldest flight in modernity: Peeing standing up. Here's the solution: check briefly for splatters every time you remember, clean the toilet and the floor in the splash zone, and put the seat down so she doesn't have to handle it. This myth should be lost to the archives. The oldest "flight" of modernity? Was that supposed to be fight? "Check briefly for splatters every time you "remember..."" Just sit down instead of risking forgetting or missing literal piss drops everywhere. Putting the seat down does nothing because if you're not cleaning the underside of that thing, she is. Still going to get yellow/brown piss marks on the ceramic either way. My ex and I were a groomsmen and bridesmaid respectively at a wedding. The story as to how that happened is too long for this, but yes we were exes at that time. She asked the bride and groom if she could invite her new partner (who I had met previously). They agreed and told me they would be there. Turns out she didn’t just bring her new partner, she also brought *all of her living siblings and both parents without the bride and grooms knowledge.* So I had to walk the woman I still loved down the aisle in front of her new partner, her mother, her father, and all of her siblings. The cherry on top was that my ex didn’t tell her family that I was a groomsmen, let alone the one who was paired with her, so it was just as awkward for them as it was for everyone else involved.

While a guy may put the toilet cover down to flush, not pee on the seat, and have general cleanliness, I highly recommend checking out the UV scans of toilets that are used by guys standing. It's all up the walls and in a wide spray around the floor simply from the splashback. Sure, you can clean all of that with regularity, but prevention is more effective. Then thinking of it being on the toilet paper, too. Not to say the gf was right to continue hounding him, but who knows what her approach has been to the conversation since she wasn't part of the post.

Regarding the child naming story, definitely not the asshole. That parent will have to deal with their child getting laughed at all their lives at school for their name, and the parent will be the one to blame. I feel like banning the person behind the story from family gathering's a bit much. I mean, it is a ridiculous name. What will the mother do once other students start laughing at them? Block them from Christmas gatherings? 😂

I’m shocked by their response to the boyfriend who pays for everything. It’s not like he’s paying for everything and his girlfriend and her mom are trying to get jobs so he’s the ahole. They’re actively not trying to find jobs and expecting him to just pay the bills. I can’t believe she made him sound like he was the a hole for having an issue with getting used.

My sons name is Brooklyn and if I say his name really fast (if he's about to do something I need him not to) it always comes out as Brooklee - I hate it haha. So I couldn't imagine calling a child that on purpose.

My brother has 6 kids so I feel like I am an expert when it comes to the "AMTA for laughing at my sisters name for her baby" question. Short answer: If it's your immediate reaction to laugh, then yes you are the asshole. Long answer: Having a name like Brookley-Willow Rose for your baby is not weird or laughable, but giving it some elaborate spelling scheme is pretty goofy when there are already established spellings for names. And I know all names are made up words! But it is a pretty stupid looking name Brookleeigh. Why two E's? Why igh at the end? It makes it look like you REALLY want your kid to feel special. I am now the asshole lol

The german birth register would NEVER!!! These kinds of names are the reason there are regulations for babynames. It falls under the law of child protection I think, so parents are not able to give their children names that are seen as "ridiculing"
