If you read the whole of first story, he has a proper talk with her, she acknowledges she was pushing an unfair amount of the house work and child care onto him, and they discuss how to divide everything more fairly. He sorts kids in morning, she sorts them evening, then the next day they switch. Also leave kids with grandparents bit more so they can have proper date nights and stuff, everything works out okay in the end.

I work from home with 2 kids under 4. I do as much work as I would have done in an office after driving an hour. I reach my numbers in 4 hours. It's not my fault I am more productive at home with my kids. I am also able to care for my kids and the home. My husband does physical work for 10+ hours per day and fixes the misc things that break. He also helps me with the kids and also helps me pick up from time to time. I would never expect him to help me, but he does because we are partners. I try to help him with the big stuff at home but I can't carry the water heater up the stairs. I can't fix the broken sump pump. I don't want to get on the roof to patch it up. There are so many things that he does. I respect everything he contributes to our family. He does so much more than I do. He deserves to come home to a relatively clean home and something to eat. He grateful for the things I do. It doesn't matter if I make microwave meals and home cooked ones. He's just grateful I am his partner, his wife, and the mother to his children.

Very well said! A relationship is exactly that, a partnership. When my gf and I first moved in together a few years ago (along with my sister and her husband), my sister's husband and I were the only ones working. Because of that, it was expected that the girls would take care of the house, because a household is *also* a shared responsibility. Then, I was unfortunately injured to where I almost died and was hospitalized for about a week. After that, I had difficulty finding a job, and so my gf being the wonderful angel she is saw how much not contributing financially was bothering me, so she went out and got herself a job. Now, my brother-in-law and her are the ones who work, so my sister and I are the ones who take care of the house. It's about recognizing you want to build a better life with the people around you and making that a joint effort however you can! Kudos to you and your husband, I wish you both a happy life for as long as you're living it, and nothing but success for your children moving forward ^-^

@shuepsx652 oh? I think it would be impossible for him to just "help." I should clarify. He helps during the work day if I need him to watch the kids. When he comes in, he is all hands on deck. Maybe I don't understand your parenting dynamic and assumed that was implied. It would be hard to ignore the kids when they like to latch onto his legs.

I love this channel and both of them but two things: 1. Most of the people i know that work from home (including myself) work well over 40 hours a week because they have no boundaries around the work day, and go over to get things done. When I worked in an office, i left at 530 every day, and showed up at 830 every day. Now I log on at 7 and log off at 7 habitually, with brief bathroom/snack grabs in between. That’s on me for sure, just didn’t think that was an accurate depiction of WFH. 2. As stoked as I am for them to be in a happy relationship, they don’t live together yet, and have mostly had a long distance relationship, so I found a lot of their responses immature and a bit cringey to listen to. Also I think Kris kinda just goes with what he says, and just stares at him to see his reaction in between. I’d be interested to see how these reactions change in 2 years now that they’re moving in together.

The first one, I would love more context. But, as a stay at home mom myself, I do most of the housework and childcare. When my husband gets home, he usually takes over with the kids so that I can cook dinner, do the chores that I couldn’t get too during the day, etc. Then we both do bedtime and cleanup, and pass out on the couch to watch an episode of trash reality tv, LOL. We work even hours, even though we do different work. It sounds like this lady expects her husband to take over the household completely after he clocks out. We all need breaks sometimes, but to expect that everyday isn’t reasonable and is unfair to him.
@liljay30000010 ай бұрын
The way you guys do it honestly sounds like the proper way to handle a single income duel parent household. From what I gathered from the first story it sounds like she isn't really even doing her "work hours" so to speak. Nothing wrong with woman posting for attention and people liking it when you're single or your partner doesn't care but it's cheating if it's communicated, agreed on, and then ignored behind your partner's back. The one with the ultimatum really isn't difficult. Troubled or not, once you give an ultimatum it's over. "Do this or else!!" For the sake of your sanity choose "or else".
@Internet_Pilgrim10 ай бұрын
I disagree. I know its phrasing definitely implies malace or control but most boundaries are just a re-wording of "or else". "If you do this I will leave" is just a more cordial way of saying "don't do this, or else I leave". Boundaries that don't limit another person's freedoms or individual choice tend to be the modern preference, but the consequence is usually "I will leave", because in reality you're setting the boundary/expectation for yourself, not the other person. It's just semantics in which the context of action matters more than the words; and arguably any formal relationship already has non-negotiables - don't cheat, don't slander, don't financially ruin us - or else it's over.

I mostly work from home and I have ~13 clients, A good chunk of those are youtubers who need an editor. when I'm not at home I'm in a local school substituting. when I'm not there, I'm in a library tutoring. Not only do I spend 8 hours, I spend 12, 14 hours. It's really hard for me to not complete a task and so if it takes more than 8 hours, I'll likely spend whatever it takes. The only time I'm away from my computer some days is when I'm walking my dog, fixing a meal, or taking a shower. If someone has me do any other thing, I just don't accept that I have to do it in the moment they ask and if I was with someone who complained that I was doing nothing or I needed to help with A, B, C, I have to wonder if they understand that 30-45 minutes is a long time, especially when I spend it editing a video. Having as many clients I do, if I am not working, there's no way I'd get half the stuff I get done. At some point I would set up a camera to prove to this person that my time is actually used to make income necessary to run the household. BC at some point, if they aren't taking your word, you need to have that evidence. If they think you're being an a$$ or whatever because you're now proving their ignorance...so be it. Sometimes people want to be right as a matter of opinion and don't want to be proven right in a matter of fact. They'd rather delude themselves into a narrative that helps them cope.

Drinking more water also increases satiety. If you want to exercise to gain muscle and improve your cardio then go for it! If you want to lose weight and keep it off then make sustainable changes, dont crash diet. Good luck on your journey to better health! Im rooting for ya!

You got this! I wish i had a gym buddy, my wife hates going to the gym and altho i am not a fan, i am trying reallg hard to figure it out because i wanna get in shape. She is someone who can eat whatever and not gain a pound & she plays soccer for her university. I on the other hand have struggled with weight since i was in middle school. Finally i managed to lose about 30 lbs before i met my wife and was in the best shape of my life. Ive gained back 10 of that due to a career change and its not much but i dont feel as good as i used to so I've started getting more into the gym because i no longer have a physically demanding job. My advice, its about calorie density, eating foods that are low in calories but have large volume to fill you up so you dont feel hungry. Like vegetables and fruit. Sticking to whole foods & minimally processed. I focus more on what i should add rather than what i should subtract from my diet so it doesnt feel like deprivation and then the healthy stuff ends up displacing the junk food. And getting in daily exercise even if its just going for a walk. Maybe get a dog if you can afford to, i adopted a dog about a year ago and she is high energy so i have to take her on a long walk every day and play with her in the yard to burn her energy and that definitely gets me more active. But find whatever you enjoy that you can do long term without it feeling like a chore.

Damn the instagram one is kind of a slap in the face. She got mad and upset with him with gym pics so he felt comfortable asking her not to do the same in bikinis. Since she knew he didn’t have insta and tiktok she posted them still and thirst traps behind his back and then when he got mad she manipulated him by doing something to end up in the hospital or has a condition where she gets upset so badly it’s life threatening. Still that’s kinda mean and disrespectful to still do when asked not to and behind his back as well and then going to the hospital to make him feel bad if that’s why she was there.

When they mentioned working from home. I think they meant (depending on the job of course) a lot of at home jobs either have less hours or you make your own hours. And the fact that the guy's partner in the post didn't feel like he was helping when he could. And this doesn't refer to single parents working at home. That's completely different. And their not saying the work people at home do are any less. They're saying a lot of the times your hours are yours and being in a relationship is a partnered thing. Not a "you do this because what I do is harder".

Ultimatums *never* work. You just can't do it. It's never a good idea.
@liljay30000010 ай бұрын
It really depends on how it is worded. Some people really need a wake up call to help themselves. Think about interventions for addicts. If he approached her and said something a long the lines of. "I have done everything I can to help you threw this period and have tried to lift you up. But nothing I have done is working. I can't continue to carry your emotional baggage like I have been doing. I need you to try and figure this out or I am afraid that this relationship will have to end for my own mental health." that is an ultimatum but it can also be the wake up call that someone needs.

The last post the dude definitely needs to run. If she’s getting herself admitted to the ER for a week as an attention grab, there’s no having a peaceful breakup. I also like how the immediate knee jerk of her still posting Bikini pics was “it’s her body” but you know for sure if it was flipped, and he was still posting Gym pics (which, let’s face it, it’s the same dude’s liking both her bikini pics and his gym progress pics) it would immediately be that he was bad.

With the ultimatum one, I agree that the husband may have been trying to help for a while and is probably at his wits end. But the losing weight part seems kinda extreme. She may have gained weight because of her mental health, but don't focus on that. If her mental state gets better, she may work on the weight herself, without the threat of him leaving. I understand where they're coming from. But I personally don't think weight had to be part of the conversation. He just knocked down her self esteem a bit, which may make it harder for her to get better.
@Omi-gk4wd10 ай бұрын
That was my thought as well. If my husband put on a ton of weight, I’d be much more concerned with the root reasons than whether or not I found it attractive.
@liljay30000010 ай бұрын
Honestly we don't know what he actually said. People in a seriously dark place especially when its there self worth have a tendency of inferring the worst thing imaginable when people talk to them especially if that conversation has any criticism.
