If it wasn't for your YT channel these Style vs Style fights would sadly be a thing of the past. So I'm eternally grateful for the fact that you post these because Style vs Style is forever so fascinating. In todays MMA they may announce one guy as a Wrestler vs another guy as a KickBoxer, but once the actual fight begins you quickly realize that both fighters are very well rounded in all of the necessary arts/disciplines. I LOVE Judo vs Wrestling, Kickboxing vs MuyTai, Boxing vs Karate etc etc etc

@@cxlc6760 The same way that Karate has throws, Judo has strikes. However, most Judoka ignore (or aren't aware) of the strikes, and most Karateka hardly look at the throws, it seems. They both come from Jujitsu, and have many similar techniques - but entirely different focus. Ideally, both would be more rounded in what they practice.
@richardgodivala46804 жыл бұрын
@@cxlc6760 I can't see that you're actually disagreeing with me there! All I said was, that both have throws, and strikes - but most Judoka ignore Atemi-waza, as many karateka ignore Nage-waza. I don't argue that judo's Atemi is to cause damage (although one assumes it could in some circumstances.) So far as I can tell, we seem to be in agreement.

Throws in order, I may be wrong and of course a lot of them are open to interpretation: :45 Kosoto-Gake/Gari (Depends on your definition of Gake, some say that means the foot has to be planted.) 1:00 Osoto-Gari. Looks like he was going potentially for Harai Goshi and switched it up, which is common as the opponent moves. 4:20 Ouchi Gari to Kouchi Gari. Opponent defends against Ouchi Gari by lifting their leg, catch their weight transfer with Kouchi Gari. Thoughts: The Judoka was using the right throws for this sort of encounter. He didn't want to turn his back and open himself up with strikes involved. He played it safe and only used Ashi-waza that didn't require him to turn himself 180 degrees.

I think the Judo players need to expand their submission arsenal in these style match ups, as well as get a bit of ground and pound practice in there. These big arms bars always seem very risky, losing their top position and control. Maybe the final round was won through a lapel choke? Using the bits of the gi around the neck to choke out from the front?

Their offensive fighting ability is varied depending on who they learned from and their own interests. I was lucky, I learned from a very fight oriented teacher. @fatimaguerrero2404 жыл бұрын
Personally I think the technique is very good, it is a combination of many things, judo, karate, taekwondo! and I love it because it is so versatile. Except that your technique what you are looking for are few precise and forceful quick points. I mean, straight to knockout, if not, they don't count it as a point. It's more than anything about reading the enemy and not attacking like crazy. And if it is used in a street fight, it is useful. But as we know, all martial arts are different and you may like some more than others. I recommend that you investigate more, it is Nippon Kempo. Its is a Japanese martial art derived from Sumai, an ancient technique from which current Sumo comes, among others, one of the most deadly and effective martial arts. Initially it was created in order to preserve defense and attack in real combat, despite the fact that many disciplines omitted the real blows in their combats, it was made in order to be a style widely used by the Japanese military. In the Nippon Kempo fights the forcefulness and the use of all kinds of martial technique is denoted: blows, kicks, knees, keys, projections, fight on the ground, submission, etc.
