This planner is an incredible resource - thank you! I filled it out on my son’s nap and even the pages I didn’t think I’d use, like the meal planner (I do not really thrive on rigid plans 😅) is helping me to think ahead of what to at least buy weekly for groceries to make things easier on myself and make it so I don’t have to think up a new snack idea every time my son is hungry. Wooo! Camp feels totally doable now!

Been working on my story that’s based on my favorite KZbin series eternal love of dream and it’s going very good. One of my coworkers is actually designing a book cover for my story and I can’t wait to see it

I write urban fantasy series and I found you through Yasmine Galenorn years ago when she mentioned you in one of her KZbin videos. I've been hooked ever since, and so excited about notebook challenges and getting into planning and enjoying my journals and stationery, especially when trying to balance finishing college and witchy things and family life. Great content, inspiring and relatable, and so excited for what comes next.

Yeeeee Camp! I did well in April's for my cowriter and I's decided word count so here's to July's! I've been prepping all month! I'm so gung ho because I'm practicing for November's Nano. It will be my first official one and I'm so excited. As usual your video is so timely. Going to download the new booklet! Good luck on edits!

my only goal for Camp is to write every day! also - don't know if you intended for the text of TDOVS to be blurred/censored as you were showing how you do your edits, but it's readable for nearly that entire clip 🫣

Another great video! I printed out the Camp planner and I'll be using it. I'm setting a goal of 25,000 words. I'm going to add another accountability tool by posting my progress on my writing blog, probably once or twice a week (that's also one of my HB90 goals, posting on there once or twice per week). Thank you for sharing your editing process. The way you do it makes perfect sense to me. It's great to be excited about a new quarter and a new writing challenge. Your enthusiasm is infectious!

Seeing an on-screen walkthrough of your editing process was sooo helpful! I'm in the second draft stage as well but have been really stuck on the mechanics of moving through my draft. I use Scrivener, and I know the Snapshot feature can record my versions, but it just doesn't work with my brain for some reason; it still feels like I'm writing over my first draft. So I moved my whole draft out of the Manuscript folder (the one that counts words) into a folder called "First Draft," and now I plan to copy scenes back into the Manuscript folder one by one, like you do here. Then I can repeat the process for my second draft, etc. I think this will really jive with how my brain works. Thanks, Sarra!

I'm so glad this was helpful! I'm exactly the same way with versions, even though I logically understand it should be easier. I just can't seem to wrap my head around it!

Attempting 15,000 words this camp... still scared I may not do it but Ive been taking time to plan the next few scenes main ideas/points I wish to touch and yesterday I had to do another timeline😅 because I always forget I need time for characters to travel and do stuff 😅😂. But Im already super excited as my Zero Draft is already around 26,000 words which already blows my mind as I know for a fact the scenes need expansion and work

My sister and I talked about it and both decided to set aside our novels and work on short stories for Camp Nano. We're both a bit out of practice and the writing groove, so I think it's going to be a good way to go. Probably won't hit 50k, but any words will be progress!

I definitely am going to participate in Camp in some way, but just due to the timing it may be more of a "do some kind of writing task every day." I might use Kate Cavanaugh's goal of 31 words (with each one representing a day). I need to figure out what, exactly.
@goldenretrievermom7945 Жыл бұрын

I don't know if this is correct or not, but someone on one of my chats said Nano said 1 hr of editing = 1800 words, so that sounds good to me. Two sprints, 1800 words.

I love watching planning videos but am struggling a bit to apply it to myself! I'm wondering if any other non-fiction writers have advice? The plans always seem so good for fiction writers, but it's so hard for me to plan because before I can write a chapter, I have to do potentially hours/days of research. Super hard to wrap my head around a planning system that works!

I honestly wished that kind accountability worked for me but It really doesn't. But that's how executive disfunction and adhd works, the system cannot really be hacked easily, only courted gently. The only way for me to make things work is to focus on the rest of it: eat and sleep well, exercise, minimize stress levels and leave space for creation which will or will not happen. It's so exhausting but only radical acceptance and self-empathy works. Ugh.

I like my weeks to start on Sunday. Suggestion, make the weekly section of the planner without the days of the week or dates on it, so people can choose how to set it up. This would be a way to meet everyone's need and not create more work for you.
