I took the time to respond to RA's video because I felt that his video was a public attack on my character, integrity, and honesty. I needed to publicly defend those things because those things are what my channel is based on. If you comment on either my channel or RA's channel, please make sure it's kind and respectful. I did my best to hit the most salient points in this video. If I had hit every point that RA covered in his video, this video would've been hours long. Don't feel like you need to choose between following my channel or RA's channel. Follow both if you want, one if you want, or none if you want. As long as you're getting value from any jump rope channel and you're using it to meet your health and fitness goals, that's what matters. For those who were hoping to "sit back and watch the fireworks" or for a "jump rope beef," you'll be disappointed. There's none of that here from my standpoint. This is simply a level-headed, calm, and objective response to what I felt like was an attack on my character, integrity, and honor, which I take seriously. Thank you for watching. Stay blessed.

As a fan of both channels it was the way Rush picked and chose some things you said without saying the whole context is what frustrated me. It felt more like an attack than genuine criticism. You seem like a very honest guy in your reviews and I love your content because of it. Keep your head up and don’t let anyone get you down.

Late, thanks for your support and for being a fan of both channels. I appreciate it. I agree with you. It was difficult to watch the cherry-picking, knowing in my heart that the things said in that video were taken completely out of context. My head is always up man! I responded because my integrity was attacked publicly, so I had to defend it publicly. As always, I appreciate your support! Thank you so much.

DRE, thanks for commenting and for your support. The quality definitely isn't as good as other ropes, and I tried to convey that in my review while still highlighting the good qualities of the rope (ease of use and performance are both good in my opinion). I think that being honest based on experience, and being public with it, is something that people either really like or really dislike. I'm prepared to deal with both sides of the sword, but I didn't expect the kind of video that RA published. I hold nothing against him, though. There's no ill will or hostility.

Luke, thank you man. I appreciate it. I did feel like my integrity was called into question, and perhaps RA felt the same way, even though my reviews and what I've said about the Money Rope have nothing to do with his character. I've never met him or talked to him, so there's no way that I could judge his character even if I wanted to. I tried my best to respond with dignity and respect, and I'm glad it came across that way to you. I really appreciate your support. Thank you so much. 💪🏾

Keep strong my man, you have very quickly become my favorite jump rope channel because of your honesty and integrity, I know that when you review something I will receive an honest and real review of your experience of it. I think its interesting how the main argument really came across about the brand he's built and not the product he delivers. No hate to Rushie, I like his stuff and I appreciate what he does for the jump rope community in general and spreading an alternative method of exercise that many would ignore.

Big respect for this one. You've created an reputation for yourself as someone with integrity and honesty when it comes to delivering reviews and providing advice on jump rope, and I trust your judgment and am thankful you approached it calmly. I agreed with you 100% on that video you had made, and also on the JRD one too. Their faults should not discount their accomplishments, but it doesn't mean we ignore those weak points. Getting each other better is what it's all about. My respect for Rushie definitely went down a bit, but I hope to be able to support him once he comes out with the new and improved rope. I've been seeing all the work he's putting into new products like the mats, socks, shoes, etc. so hopefully that translates to an upgraded rope. I hope to see a day when I can send people right to Rush Athletics for all their jump rope needs and be confident in that product as well. As of now, i'll stick to recommending the Punk Rope and the buyjumpropes.net ones. Hoping this all gets resolved; the jump rope community should be growing continuously and not be faced with division like this. Thanks again.

I think the RA video had that effect on a lot of people, but I stay encouraging people to watch his channel because he does have good, educational content and I do think he truly cares about jump rope and helping people when it's all said and done. I hold nothing against him at all, even though the video he made wasn't the greatest thing. I'm definitely cool and harbor no bad feelings toward RA or anyone in his camp. Knuckle, thanks for watching. I appreciate the kind words. They mean a lot. Much respect to your brother for serving. I don't think RA or anyone else who came by the channel with disrespectful comments as a result of his video are haters. I think RA is a talented guy who may be a little misguided from time to time, but that's okay. We all have our struggles. I know I do. I have compassion for him, not anger, and I wish him continued success. I think that the people who watched his video and chose to make unkind comments on this channel are misguided and probably have a difficult time thinking critically, which could be why, after watching a few minutes of a video, they acted on incomplete information. I have nothing but love for them as well. Hopefully this video and my responses to their unkind comments resonated with them. We all have work to do on ourselves and we can all learn from our mistakes. I'm at the top of that list. The learning and improvement never stops. Thanks again for your support. Take care! 💪🏽🙏🏽✅

How are you feeling JRV? I followed both you and RA. I saw most of your videos including the RA review and JRD form, so I have a pretty good idea what you went about. Imagine my surprise when I saw RA "hate" video, I was so confused. In my opinion, you've made fair points and were very respectful. The amount of time it must have took him to make that video is perplexing. His brand is going strong regardless and his attack on you is totally unnecessary. I have mad respect on the way you responded (yes, I watched this whole video) and glad you took the high road. Keep on going strong, JRV. RA is over rated. He’s become too big for his own suit. The ropes are over priced but quality is shiite. If someone can’t accept good criticisms, then his company is doomed. There is always room for improvements & good criticisms will always help improve what he already has. But he’s got a huge ego. And that will be his downfall. Kudos to your honesty and integrity. If you're looking to do quick double and triple unders, I'd suggest getting a thinner, CrossFit rope like the EliteSRS Bullet Comp, the Buddy Lee Super Sonic, the Crossrope Bolt, or the MILSPEC MS-1. Those are all specialized for double unders. For regular jumping, any weighted or PVC corded rope that you see on this channel will be good. There are a lot of options.

Man, I watched the RA podcast episode live, and I was a bit confused to be honest. I followed Rushie for a while now, and I have also stumbled across your channel (and other jump rope channels). As a matter of fact I happened to see your review of the money rope, and props to you in having an honest review. I personally saw nothing wrong, and it was YOUR experience with the rope. Unfortunately your rope broke after 3 months or so, whereas other people's ropes lasted longer. That happens with any manufactured product. Anyway, keep doing honest and objective reviews. My take on this situation is that there was, as with most clashes, miscommunication. I think rush athletics response was emotionally driven and possibly fueled by interactions with other youtubers/customers/social media but it was directed at yourself. You are not only my favourite jump rope KZbinr but defiantly one of my top KZbinrs in general as a content provider and as a person which does mean I have a bias here. I can only see good things coming from this whole fiasco tbh. Firstly, as you mentioned he has a huge influence over the jump rope/fitness community and this will only bring traffic to you, expect to see subs and views increase over the next few weeks. Secondly, this only increases the validity in your honesty and integrity rather than diminishing it, this was challenged and you delivered.

Hi JRV I wasn’t aware of all this “drama” as I’ve been busy with my new job. I’ve watched both your video and RA’s. I’m one of the people who’s comments were used to highlight the hate Rush made the video about. Agree with you that hate is definitely not the right word to describe how you reviewed the money rope or what I commented. Had we insulted him or made racial slurs then hate would be absolutely be right to describe this. I’ve used his money rope at the gym I go to. I didn’t like it. My fiancé was going to buy one of his mats for my birthday. After researching more about it and finding it out it is more or less a yoga mat I’m glad I didn’t get it. It even says the mat is for light jump rope use only. If you have a mat for jump rope, you should be able to use any rope on it otherwise that is not a suitable product and must be poor quality. I’m always grateful to you as you introduced me to crossrope and I’ve never looked back. Stay safe when on duty and keep up the good work on your channel 👍🏻

The truth is, he allows his products to have flaws and tries to excuse them. Ppl pointed out the ignite rope will make the clicking sound when he showed the early product testing video and he continued to ignore it. He also blamed the care or technique used with the rope for it snapping at the handles and not the product itself. The money rope 2.0 will now have embossed branding (no mention of release date) but he felt it wasn't right to crictise the first version because it was the first rope he made. Too many excuses and it feels like consumers aren't really heard upfront.

Annabelle, it's good to hear from you again! Thanks for your support. You're right. He did blame the rope breaking on me by suggesting that I didn't know how to take care of the rope and that I "knew nothing about speed ropes." I chose not to address this during the video, however, my Money Rope snapped in the center, not at the handle, when it broke! Crazy. Him coming out with embossed handles on the Money Rope shows that the name erasing from the handles is a problem and that he recognizes it, so I'm glad he's taking the opportunity to iterate and constantly improve his products. At least he's listening. Kaizen. Also, I hope the Ignite rope works for him. Hopefully I'm able to use it one day. I note that your money rope review is one year old while he has just launched a fitness rope that competes with the heavy crossrope. So his data might have shown your money rope review slightly impacted his MR and he’s now anticipating a far more damaging side by side ignite/crossrope review. Btw the the attaching mechanism of the ignite rope replicates the one of a fitness rope I bought last year (hero rope from jumpropesports). That being said, I am a big Rush fan.

However if you criticize somebody’s life project you need to expect that he is going to try to protect it. I am not saying that the way he did it was correct, but human in the end. I really appreciate your honesty and integrity. You should however always be aware that people are gonna protect their stuff, especially with your military background. Hi Jude, I think its a real shame that this has got here. As you know I am huge fan of Rushie and the Rush Athletics Brand and you know how much I respect you and your KZbin channel. I think the key thing in all of this is that you both feel as if your integrities have been brought into question, and as a consumer of your content and Rushies content and products I certainly don't think that either of you need to worry about that. My own respect for you both of you in the JR community is as solid as ever. I don't know this (I don't know Rushie personally) but the way I see it Rushie wasn't that annoyed that you didn't like the rope as such it was maybe more to do with a possible deeper perceived inference that he (his brand) was somehow trying to really maximise the profit on the upselling of an inferior and over priced product on the back of his image and slick marketing techniques. As you say from a pure business position this is a really interesting case study because what he has achieved is incredible. I am a business graduate too. Having followed Rushie for a while now though its clear that he is very passionate about the jump rope community from the grass roots up and he genuinely wants to serve it really well and bring positivity into peoples lives. He certainly inspired me and I know you have a lot of respect for him for that too. Personally I love the RA Speed rope and I much prefer it to similar ropes of that type on the market but that's just my preference but this Beef isn't about that rope. In terms of price to value on other RA products his apparel is incredibly good value. I know this as I have been trying a few side hussle's in the clothing game myself and I can't compete with his prices grrrr ha ha :) I just hope that this video closes the book on this for both of you so you can both just carry on doing what you do so well as the JR community is a much better and much richer place for it. Respect as always. D

My man. You're a real gem because of what you're doing with your jump rope community in the U.K. Keep up the good work with that. You're right, it's tough that it came to this. I was surprised and confused when I discovered that he had made a podcast episode going after not only me, but two other jump rope companies led by guys that I respect and vouch for, and three viewers that he mentioned by name. Despite that video, I've still given him props and recognized what he's done and what he's doing. I understand where you're coming from and how it could be perceived that way. My stance on that is that if I thought he was trying to maximize profit, I wouldn't have inferred it. I would've just said it without tip-toeing around. I do think the rope is overpriced for what you get, and that there are equivalents on the market for cheaper that perform better. but that's just my opinion. If he was upset about me saying that, it's all good. I have no ill will toward RA. I hope this is it as well. I certainly have no plans to keep making videos like this and will gladly have a professional discussion with RA and/or anyone in his camp if they'd like to do so!

If one of RA's products is that rope for people, then that's awesome and I encourage them to use the rope that they think is best for meeting their goals. As always, I appreciate the support. Mate, I didn't mean any offence. I was trying to find a reason why I hate all the ropes you recommended (elite cables feel crap with the string, crossropes crap handles for 30mins use, bolt set nothing special). It was more of a justification for your comments than to put you down. I totally feel bad watching this right now. I will take the comments down of course and I hope you and RA work things out. Also fun facts: I rewatched your video how the money rope is the rogue entry level rope (I have a couple in transit to find out for sure) now also my latest money rope snapped after a month but very close to handle so can still use. RA is still my favourite rope but $5 soft beaded rope off AliExpress arrived and did 30mins with it and it might be in the lead now! Ed, it's all good man! I don't hold anything against you. I know that people of all different sizes use the ropes I use, so it may just be personal preference for you - and there's nothing wrong with that. As you probably heard in the video, I wanted to use your comment to bring a larger issue to light, the issue of online communication and the fact that none of us truly know each other. Another issue I hoped I brought to light is the fact that people with large followings (or even small followings) are powerful and can cause a lot of mania with the videos they publish, so we all need to be mindful regarding the effects of our content (myself included). At the end of the day, it's all about finding what works for you, and I'm glad that the RA Money Rope works well for you! If that's the rope that keeps you fit and motivates you to get out there and exercise, then that's what matters! Let me know what you think about the ropes when you get them. Keep grinding, brother!

Haha! I have to say that my el-cheapo ropes from Amazon ($15/3 long-handled soft beaded ropes) are generally my go-to rope these days! I am into doing tricks vs. high-speed crossfit type workouts, and these get the job done better than any of my others. I've busted the handles on 2 of them from slamming on my deck trying to learn mic releases 😂, and recently cracked the handle on the 3rd. Love the rope cord and beads - it never kinks or gets stiff like my PVC ropes do...except for the Elite SRS, which is my other go-to rope. Cheers, and happy jumping!

Man, I'm sorry that it got to the point where you felt like you had to make a video to address the crap you've had to deal with regarding the RA video and his spurious claims of "hate" and the awful comments from some dead-souled people out there. I mentioned in a comment on the first video you made that I don't watch RA's content that much anymore, mostly because I don't find his instructional style to work well for me personally, so I didn't see (nor will I waste my time watching) that particular video. Just hearing it exists leaves a really bad taste in my mouth; to me, the fact he felt the need to even make such a video says far more about his character than any of the people he was attacking in it. You'd think he'd have more productive things to do with his time. Anyway, the idea that some jackass troll "defender" of his decided that ad hominem attacks against you (your height? Really? 🙄 🤨) was the way to go just shows how mentally deranged some people can get. Seriously, someone who is a happy and well-adjusted, emotionally secure individual will NEVER need to make an attack like this. I also totally agree with you re the absolute mis-use of the word "hate" to describe a review of a product that didn't paint it in a favorable light. Honestly, RA, if you read these comments at some point, get a grip, dude 🙄 ! The amount of real hate going on in this country, fomented IMO by the past 4 years of Trump and his administration, is something to be legitimately concerned about. Watching the racist attacks against fellow Americans that don't happen to be white is horrifying, not to mention the unspeakable tragedy of George Floyd's killing. The insurrection attacks on our nation's Capitol 3 months ago is not something I ever thought would happen in the USA. What is sad, to me, is that jumping rope is supposed to TRANSCEND all that bullshit! Seriously, I watch a wide variety of content on KZbin, and I can say, hands-down, that it has improved the quality of my life in numerous ways, and KZbin is 100% where I learned how to jump rope. Learning to jump rope has been, honestly, one of the coolest things I've done for my life in a long time. As a final comment, I just want to say kudos to you for being the one to show temperance, wisdom, courage and justice - the Four Stoic virtues - in your video here (I'm a huge fan of the Stoics, and Stoic philosophy in general). Keep it up with the reviews and rock-solid content, continue to ignore the haters, and thank you for your past and ongoing service to our country - you are the embodiment of what patriotism *really* looks like, my friend 🇺🇸 ✌🏼🙌🏼 🙂

Sonya, yea - it's an unfortunate situation, but I think that good is already starting to come from it. I was able to cover some larger issues during this video (online communication and not actually knowing who you're communicating with online, understanding the impact of your videos, what hate really is, etc.) so it isn't all lost. There's good in every situation. The gentleman who made that comment about me already expressed remorse. He and I are cool and I hold nothing against him whatsoever. It was a tough situation, but I attribute it to the hoopla that RA's video created, which spoke to my point about being aware of the fact that most of us here talking online don't know each other and our backgrounds. I really appreciate your support over the past year. Thank you for sharing your thoughtful comments and for being so nice. I'm a follower of Stoicism as well, so it was cool to hear you mention the four virtues. Keep getting after it, and thanks so much for supporting! 💪🏾

@@JumpRopeVeteran I'm glad to hear that poster has reached out and expressed what sounds like an apology; that was a truly immature and obnoxious thing to say, and it would be easy to ignore if it didn't have the negative association with your family's experience 😕. Another thing I was thinking about after I posted my comment is that there is none among us who haven't made mistakes, especially when we were younger, because we are all flawed human beings. I don't know how old Rushie is, but I'm guessing late 20's-early 30's. I certainly said and did plenty of stupid things when I was his age 🙄😬, and I still do them from time to time. I would hope that at some point, he will reflect back on his decision to make the video and the comments, and see it was an error, and learn from it. A genuine apology from him would show he's matured a bit, and earn him respect. One thing I can say with 100% certainty, speaking from personal experience: no one ever will think less of someone if they apologize for a screw-up or admitting they were wrong. As William Irving said in his book on A Guide to the Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy: "apologies heal social damage". And, it speaks to your wisdom and maturity that you didn't respond in like to him, and in fact, have wished him no ill will. I would have been tempted to just ignore his video and the petty comments from some random people on KZbin, but you did a solid by turning it into a positive to bring light to what actual, real hate is. The real danger is tossing out "hate" just because you don't like someone's opinion (about a product, no less!) trivializes the real meaning of the word. There is absolutely no comparison between someone saying "I wouldn't recommend this jump rope" and an elderly woman getting attacked and beaten up in the street because she's Chinese or Korean, or swastikas being spray painted on a synagogue...it's both absurd and offensive. Be well, and keep on keeping after it! I knocked out an hour-long session with my rope this evening after dinner; it was great!
@JumpRopeVeteran
@JumpRopeVeteran 3 жыл бұрын
Sonya, great point about mistakes. You're right. We should all show compassion, especially when we're upset. What will be funny is if he and I watch these videos when we're in our 50's and we can laugh about it! I'll check out that book by Irving. I've never heard of it but it sounds like something I would enjoy I think the only way to respond was in the way that I did. Anything else would've caused more problems. We're both leaders and we both owe it to the people who follow us, and those in the fitness and jump rope community, to handle ourselves professionally in situations like these. I'm just here scavenging useful information bruv, whatever it is. It boils down to Rushie hasn't broken any ropes but others have, presumably because the RA style is "smoother" (not hitting the floor hard) on a mat. Shame that R felt such a great need to make a video about haters , to use such an expression means he must be feeling that himself and to me as to many , even his followers like myself this is what the long video clearly shows. It was unnecessary, coming from someone who is creating a professional business to be throwing his toys out of the pram , it’s discrediting.....he has come such a long way with his creativeness, passion and commitment , to show umbrage and resentment like that is so unprofessional it is a shame. I hope he learns from this and just continues his success , part of that is to take professional criticism without having a tantrum , this can be destructive for him. Also by talking about you as a ‘Hater’ gave you more attention ! 🙄🤭...good attention, bad attention...it’s still attention, I never heard of you til the Haters video ! 🤣 R is great, but I also love what you do , interesting to hear other’s views and experience with jump ropes I am now clicking to subscribe !
