Its been 2 months I have started my weight loss journey. Daily I do 10 miles of cardio (Combination of Walking and Jogging). I nearly spent 3 hours on cardio. I have heard that only doing Cardio without weights will not be good for body shape. I hate going to gym. I prefer outdoor activities. Does Jump Ropes helps builds muscle mass for upper body so that I do not have to lift weights(dumbells) and reduce body fats?

I just ordered the cross rope starter kit from amazon and just wondering if it’s ok to use it on bare cement or should I get a mat to protect the rope from getting trashed? I’m so excited I started really jumping bout a month ago n can’t believe how fast my body changed like being more ripped!! I’m so hooked on rope jumping!! Been using an old rope prolly from Walmart which I’m still gonna use just thot I’d try weighted ropes to up my game!! Thanks for ur channel n ur informative n awesome workouts which I’ve meshed in w/ my weight training. Thank you.
@JumpRopeDudes
@JumpRopeDudes 7 жыл бұрын
starhit - if you can afford the mat we suggest is 100%. It's great for your body and you can really increase the life of your ropes! The agility rope lasts a long time on concrete, but since the heavy ropes are (heavier) they tend to wear a little quicker.
@lo-pan
@lo-pan 7 жыл бұрын
lads, I use a weighted handled leather rope as i tend to find the cheaper vinyl/plastic ones easily snap when constantly smashed against the concrete, which is where I use my rope 90% of the time would you advise sticking with this, or will these jump ropes you use stand up to concrete garden slab type material

And another day. Just skipping. I haven't haven't yet started to try tricks so I can only do normal skipping. I've only just started to watch some of yours videos.

How do they hold up on concrete? I use a speed rope, with the wire cable inside, but they don't last long on concrete. (I jump outdoors in the driveway so need something that'll last.) Also, is there any cutting involved to adjust the ropes to my height? Thanks, in advance, for answers to my questions.
@JumpRopeDudes
@JumpRopeDudes 5 жыл бұрын
Pam - you'll need to order the right size for you (Sizing info at crossrope.com). We use the almost exclusively on concrete and they last really well. Of course, friction eventually wins all battles, but the crossrope will outlast your regular coated cable rope.

The problem with cheap ropes is that you get what you pay for. Find something that doesn't stretch, has a little weight (4 oz) and is well rated. Crossropes last a LONG time and are worth every penny. Don't waste your money (and time) figuring this out. Just grab a great rope!

@손Son i tried the same rope from a different company. you can shorten them, but the screws can not be put back in easily. when you try to srew them in the screws scroll, and you can not turn them or thighten them. the quality of the screws varies greatly. the ropes are not as thick and heavy as the crossropes. Any advice on choosing the right weight for beginners?

C John - the crossrope system is AWESOME! Part of the reason we love it is that you can change out ropes for lighter/heavier options (or as they wear). We normally suggest the 1 pound rope (2 is sooooo much) but you'll probably be amazed at how heavy the 1/2 pound rope is... If you are at all nervous about using a heavy rope, go for the half pound. It's a great stepping stone to the one pound intensity rope! get an agility rope here: www.crossrope.com/zendudefitness and then add the 1/2 pound rope at check out!

Does it help building muscles with a heavy rope
@JumpRopeDudes
@JumpRopeDudes 7 жыл бұрын
Ryan Yeung - heavy ropes are going to challenge your muscles more. You'll get stronger! but if you're number one goal is to pack on lean muscle like Dwayne Johnson, you probably wanna hit the gym.

I bought the lean set and I jump better with the 1/2 lb rope then I do with 1/4lb. Is this normal? Is it ok just to jump with that exclusively? At least till I get better. I'm getting the strong set for Christmas I'm afraid I'll never touch the 1/4 again lol
@JumpRopeDudes
@JumpRopeDudes 6 жыл бұрын
Jayson Scaccia - totally. Jump rope is ALL ABOUT rope speed. but you can only increase rope speed with loads of practice. Getting that rope speed way up with a light rope (so you can feel the feedback) takes time. One of the best ways to pass this is to find your rhythm with a heavier rope :)
