My 76 Chevy Silverado (454 th400) was dragged out of a fence row....it had 93 tags on it, I got it running, drove it for about 3 months, broke the rear end, and trans broke off the motor doing a burnout, so got a rear end, 4 speed swapped it, put on a stepside bed that was less rusty, and broke the trans doing a burnout....

Classic cars aren't polluters. The EVs pollute more. They're filled with plastic, the batteries can spontaneously ignite, and the cobalt used in any ev's battery is slave mined. Plus they're so full of computers that a glitch happening could kill you or others. EVs are disposable. Classic cars are forever.

I think this pandemic has taught people the importance of multiple streams of income, unfortunately having a job doesn't mean security rather having different investments is the real deal.
@albertgaspar6272 жыл бұрын
we just don't do enough to teach kids how to use money as a tool rather than a goal (as seen in many song videos). "side hustles" have been important since before they were called that. and the entire "buy low sell high" seems to be in short supply in a land of "retail therapy". PS: cryptocurrency tanked when inflation rose--exactly what it should not do if it's a good hedge investment. Even gold does better and all it does it maintain value (ie, you can buy a new Ford today with the same ounces of gold you could buy a new Ford in 1932--but not a new Lincoln today). Remember, fools and their money are soon parted, do not be the classic shoeshine boy handing out financial advice--that's the time to cash out, not in.

@@lilorbielilorbie2496 I got my 442 recently from a seller going electric. If i was just going to commute the same path every day, I would get an electric, there's some neat gadgets there. but as a country, we're already browning the electric grid with AC use in the summer, and cryptocurrency requires mainframe computers that are REALLY going to tax the grid. So now add electric cars to that.... i had some argue that the cars will only charge at night (as if that matters) so I reminded them that many workplaces are establishing charging stations for employees there for 8 hours, and of course Amazon et al will be running delivery vehicles that'll need a charge. Better to just let folks work from home, but Big Business is invested in prime real estate to draw in customers and house employees. so they want to get their money back.
@lilorbielilorbie24962 жыл бұрын
@@albertgaspar627 And what people forget is that "something" has to make the electricity to charge your car. It's not like you can just park outside and hope a bolt of lighting hits your car and charges the battery. And that something is either wind, hydro, coal, or nuke. Two of which are known to be bad for the environment. I'll just stick with gas. I'm retired anyway so I really don't have a "daily " commute anymore.
@albertgaspar6272 жыл бұрын
@@lilorbielilorbie2496 too true. and most of the wiring that goes from powerplant to wall plug is aboveground, and so what happens when there's a big storm and you need electric vehicles to get into the damage zone. I'm retired as well so I don't have a normal commute route anymore either. More time to catch the car shows though :)

I’m currently doing this to a 57 bel air 4 door. My goal is to have a nice reliable family car that I can take to the grocery store, and pick up my kid from school in. The problem is a ton of car enthusiasts are against this sort of thing, so I am glad to have found your comment. You should’ve seen all the hate Project X got when Hot Rod did an EV swap to it. They literally made a million of these cars, and people don’t seem to want a four door for some reason. Plus, mine was a basic shell. No engine. No transmission. Not even a driveshaft. So it’s not like I’m molesting a rare museum piece. Poor car hadn’t been registered since 1971.
