Calling it now. Vacuum lines are messed up on the cad shifter. Recommend a set of tj axle shafts and do away with it. Swap vacuum switch on the transfercase for an electric one and connect to the position wire on cad. Those lift shackles are missing the center bolt that keeps them from racking causing bad handling.

I had a then new 1992 YJ with the 2.5L and manual transmission. Only kept it two years. Living on the coast, it started rusting almost immediately, even when Rust Checked. It rode like a Conestoga, but with much less stability. The starter started getting weak by the end. It was junk. My brother got a TJ when they came out. The switch to coil springs was a huge improvement. But it still had a lot of reliability issues.

Rubber impregnated steel FTW IMHO there's no such thing as a leak proof gasket for oil pans or valve covers, but the steel ones seem to last the longest and are re-useable, as long as the rubber is still pliable. Cork just cooks, shrinks, and leaks and Silicone reverts into jelly, which then leaks.

Up here in the eastern boonies of Canada there was a guy driving one of those around, except the grey was a beige, closer to brown. I haven't seen it in a while, but I assume he's still driving it. Never really looked at the headlights so I'm not sure if they used the same model for their replica. Isn't the engine actually a 4.2 (AMC 258)? As I recall, that was the big engine option on the YJ...it was carbureted a lot longer than most engines. The base YJ engine was the 2.5 AMC 4 cylinder. The 4.0 from the Cherokee (Jeep XJ) was much higher horsepower than the 4.2. The TJ (successor to the YJ) had the legendary 4.0 from the Cherokee as an option...
