There was no real reason for them to hold him there, but he legitimately developed schizophrenic symptoms because of the treatment that violated the prison's own standards. He confessed after telling his wife 'you shouldn't have to spend any money on me, i should just take the fall so you don't have to with me' During those confessions he also confessed to doing in his family. Who are still alive. He also, during the 60 confessions, sporadically said that he was innocent.

So far, it feels like the police dropped the balls in some things such as not gathering the sticks for evidence when it was first found, also the fact that so far its only a case bullet tying RA. 12:30 It's not secrecy, it's a very small courtroom. There isn't room for cameras and a lot of people in there. They have a jury of 16 and the families on both sides. We will be able to read court transcripts, there will be plenty to read with this trial lasting right at a month.

But the round wasn't fired so there's no rifling. Last I had read was that the markings left for an unspent round can vary even in the same gun (unlike the rifling marks from a spent round). I want to be wrong on this! Hopefully the round is just a tiny piece in the larger puzzle.

Even massively professionally videoed, collected, tagged evidence gets ripped in court. It can make or break an entire case. The Mickey Mouse crime scene collection here is disgusting. No video of the found bullet, stayed in an investigator’s car overnight, don’t take the sticks, yes collect them two days later. Too much credit has obviously been given the Indiana State Police. I’ve long thought they made a serious error in not releasing any info on the crime other than two girls were murdered. Agencies always have hold-back’s, but you don’t hold back everything. ISP might be good at crimes where the subject is known or there are a few suspects to whittle down, but they were out of their league with an unknown and needed to call in an agency early on that knew what it was doing. If so, maybe it wouldn’t have taken over 7 years to catch this creep. The jury might end up being faced with finding him guilty because what if he is and they let him go.
