I would definitely want it peeled, but I'd be too worried about doing a bad job and ruining it. I think even the professional peelers struggle sometimes.
@Beetlehair3 жыл бұрын
Don’t peel it! Too many have been peeled already. Your copy documents how the second cover was pasted over the butcher cover. Best to keep it the way it is since it’s in such great shape. Just find another copy that’s already peeled if you want to see the butcher.

Might be the wrong place to post this but I'm here, you're here, we're here! I have several hundred records from the rock band Queen: first pressings, alternate covers, Taiwan issues, Japanese with OBIs, 12" singles, white label promos, test pressings, rare live bootlegs, box sets.... plus all of the same from all solo members and solo bands. I'm trying to sell as ONE piece... but I also know what it's worth...

Do not peel! If you want to see a better under image, go to a stamp store and get the fluid they use to make the watermarks visible on stamps. It does not harm the paper but it will make it more transparent. A stamp collector suggested I use Zippo lighter fluid in place of the watermark fluid, works just fine. No trace when it dries. Be sure to remove the record first and do not reinsert the record until the fluid dries and the smell goes away.! P.S. - Great score!!!

Also, check that freewheelin to make sure it's not the first (mistake) press with the alternate songs. Highly unlikely but worth checking as the mistake pressing is worth buttloads of cash. There are entire website pages dedicated to the mistake first press to give you all the info you need. However You may have to open it up to confirm the matrix numbers. Is the blonde on blonde a first press with the girl inside the gatefold? Also check for a first press on the stones hot rocks. Info on discogs and other places as how to identify one. First pressees contain alternate mixes of "brown sugar" and "wild horses"

I like the Bob Dylan "Highway 61 Revisited" and "Bringing It All Back Home" with the original hype stickers on, clearly indicating first pressings. Also the "Who Sell Out' with the hype sticker and a copy of the "Happy Jack" album on Decca. All looking like near mint copies! Even those original Country Joe and the Fish albums looked intriguing. It's a bootleg. NOT a test pressing. Those test presses clearly state what they are. These plain labels with a 1 and 2 sides are boots. Play it, it likely is a bootleg recording from one of the concerts. Some were terrible sound quality and a few sounded decent. Other Boots from that era were outtakes from recording sessions, basically other versions of the released songs. But collectors still want them anyway.

Mono copies fetch a premium over stereo copies although original gold labels are getting quite expensive.I wouldn't peel The Beatles Butcher Yesterday and Today and for the EXACT reasons You Gave . Butcher 2nd states are hard to find especially straight and crisp looking damn near mint. That Butcher deserves a ten dollar LP Frame from Walmart or eBay if You Hate Walmart like Me.
