I’m truly in awe of the defendants’ audacity in this situation. They deliberately threw their raked leaves over the plaintiff’s fence and into their yard, yet somehow convinced themselves it was justified. Their reasoning? A baseless claim that the plaintiffs moved the wooden stakes marking the property line-an accusation with no evidence. The lady defendant’s dismissive comment-‘Mr. whoever; I wouldn’t even care to know his name, he’s so insignificant to me’-perfectly encapsulates their entitled attitude, as though this somehow excused their actions. What’s even more astonishing is their belief that throwing the leaves onto someone else’s property-whether it was the plaintiffs’ or not-meant they didn’t need to take responsibility. They truly thought this made their actions acceptable. In their exit interview, they doubled down on this mindset, appearing genuinely shocked when landscapers hired by the plaintiffs confirmed that the leaves had, in fact, been thrown onto the plaintiffs’ property. The sheer arrogance and refusal to take accountability are absolutely staggering.

I have a neighbor that lives behind me. He's a very elderly man. But for over 50 years, he will go into his backyard and pick up anything he sees and throw it over the fences.
