Car looks great, but I can't justify over 350.00 bucks for a brushed set up. At that point you are already in Senton, Granite pricing which gives you faster speeds. I love Traxxas, but their pieces are ridiculously over priced.

They always have been, I love(ish) them too. The 'ish' is because of Traxxas' sue-happy nature that hurt the industry and trying to have the RC general industry monopoly. I want a couple of their cars/trucks but think they will be used because of stated reasons.

Nice review Greg!! That setup seems pretty solid. I like how the body has no clips. I think the tires helped it out a bunch in the handling. I think if you put a brushed system in you would take it to the next level!! The body is legit with the colors. Stay safe and bash on from Colorado!!!

Thank you for actually mentioning the pinion gear size!!!!! Everyone else I've seen with this car so far just skips over that like it's not pertinent information. 😂 Am i safe to assume it's 48 pitch like the previous 4 tecs? I'm getting one of these but will eventually go brushless with a 5mm shaft, so I'll definitely need to buy another pinion gear.

When you're playing in a parking lot I would throw down 10 cones and drift around them and make a little track. And then see what you like and adjust the cones as necessary.

We have a decent sized rc group where I live and I was thinking this same thing. Get a handful of us together and put some cones out, maybe some sections of heavy marine rope for curves and turns. Would be a blast!

Great review! Would have loved to have seen the size difference with the other 3.0's. I'm wondering if the wheelbase is closer to the Hot Rod than the Stingray.

From what ive seen the hot rod and corvette a both a lot longer wheelbase while the 4tec 2.0 is slighty shorter then the supra and the supra is the widest car over all with the more race oriented tire

I'm looking at some Fazer, Tamiya TT, and other options , for a cheap race class... so far the fazer looks like the best quality and bang for the buck, and also has rtr options... second is Tamiya kits.... but, these don't look like a bad option for some folks, and I really like the Supra body... for racing though, having a standard mounting setup might be better, as bodies will need replaced...I'll have to see if they offer this body in a clear replacement part...

Hello sir, thanks for all your helpful videos! I'm up to 15 machines now. This Supra could be a first Traxxas. Most recent for me is the Arrma Vortex. I'm looking at it right now wanting to do some mods...this machine is, in my opinion, the closest thing to perfect thus far. In time, shocks. Put Speedhawks on it, crazy fast on a smooth parking lot! Very nice review. I love the look. My only drawback is that I would have love to see this car in a much larger scale. For example 1/8 or 1/7. My personal taste is that I want a car that doesn't look like I got it from Walmart or Target. In my honest opinion I think Traxxas best on road car was the Rally Fiesta VR46. I have that and it's soooooo fun to drive. And riding around with your buddies is great but this car will break the instance your buddy runs over it with there Erevo 2.0 or Wide Max and Arrma cars. My Rally is great in withstanding those guys that like to trade paint. If it was me I would have made this car bigger.

If Traxxas was smart they would make a deal with Street outlaws . We would all go Mad if you could by the RC version of Farm truck or Murda Nova. Losi, TA, or Traxxas will likely Sign a deal with street outlaws if its possible and there smart. My guess is maybe its to costly with Discovery Channel having there greedy hands in the mix. Not sure I am not an expert. Farm Truck and AZN bought the Traxxas C-10 Drag slash and actually made a replica Mini Farm truck. Its on there channel if you want to see it.

I'm looking to get a couple cars, to help kickstart a "Sport Trouring" class at an outdoor onroad track that is coming to my area... looking to use more affordable cars, tub chassis , shaft drive, etc... with bodies that resemble a real life car...also with Kit and RTR options... Stuff like these 4Tec cars.... Kyosho Fazer Mk2... Tamiya TT-01/TT-02 kits... AE Apex, etc... What is the stock gearing in this Supra, and do you think it would handle a tooth or 2 more on a track, maybe not the high speed gear, which I imagine is for speed passes...but an extra tooth or 2. How do you think this compares compares the fazer mk2, and some Tamiya cars, would they be fair to race all together? Lastly, what brushless limit would be relatively equal to what's in the RTR cars... would 13.5 be way too fast? I know you've got some experience with a few of these cars, so any input would be most welcomed...

The only thing that would make this cooler for me is real front and rear led lighting in the headlights and taillights. I’m hoping Traxxas will do that for these cars a light kit. I plan to get one of these just after the new year for a present to myself haha. It will definitely get a brushless upgrade also. Not sure if I’d go Traxxas vxl or the Castle Copperhead series. I do like those

I just bought one, got the drift tires on it, i would like to know if i can get a faster response servo, wider arms because with how small the wheels are, it looks a little funky with how large it makes the wheel wells look, and a wider turning radius, and if i can get the arms in aluminum to match the wheels i got. If it doesnt have those options, it definitely should.

Barely been 24hrs since traxxas revealed the new release. Supras weren’t even in stock or preorder on their site. The supra isnt made by toyota its made by bmw. 350$ when we just got the infraction brushed who is bigger for 319$(thats already expensive af). I guess the body is nice but again traxxas makes sure your locked with their products. The clipless thing is cool but for what price? We got so lazy these days. Theres a reason why everyone else is still using cliped bodies. Also just noticed a speed pinion for a brushed rc😳. I have no words. Maybe supra loverd will jump into it but i dont see how this is a must buy when theres x reshells of 4 techs

@Bastelhans bmw had almost a copy of the supra car before it was released. Toyota is known for their reliability and making a car with bmw who has terrible durability was a flop imo. There was already a recall for faulty bmw air bags on the supra or something like that

Why exactly is traxxas still selling new models with a brushed system? Oh yeah. Because it forces you to pay more for the swappable brushless system. Got it. 🙄 Otherwise, brushed systems should already be discontinued.

I have 2 4-tec 2.0's my ford gt I upgraded to vxl but my ford mustang is still brushed and though its mostly a loaner I still enjoy it occasionally, not everyone is always looking to break speed records all the time. My summit 1/16 is also brushed but mostly for rock crawling I have my maxx for speed and jumping. Upgrading is also fairly easily with the traxxas power up(trade in) program.

@@ryanlivingston8119 I used the power up(trade in) program on my ford gt so vxl was like $120 much cheaper than other major aftermarket brands(I would never use those really cheap amazon brands) while being plenty fast(60-65mph) for the cars size any faster an I would want the xo-1 bigger more stable at higher speeds
