Here and at this time, Chicago is in full splendor - Pankow's original and melodic composition from the sixth album (fifth studio), an impressive arrangement, and the vocals are Christomatic, have become a trademark for the band, Laudir Oliveira is charismatic, and brass is secrecy accurate and magnetic. Like so many of their 70's-era Chicago cuts, this song is so well crafted! Great multi-part harmony, and the way they hold the note at "and everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" is locked in TIGHT! Even Peter is harmonizing by himself in the Coda on "You are my love and my life".

I was literally raised on CHICAGO,YO! Their debut came out when I was born in the summer of Love in ‘67,dig? I vividly recall when that beautiful song originally came out,all of their songs always felt like a lovely summer day, when everything went right, even if it wasn’t and it didn’t,there was still a ray of hope in the music,indeed... I remember having an am transistor radio 📻 I’d pull it up as close 2 my ear as possible, getting lost in the sweet refrain,aah... I hated that 1 earplug that was out then, but I guess that they were looking out 4U,since if both ears were plugged, you wouldn’t be cognizant of yer immediate surroundings, unlike now, where nobody seems 2 care,OY VEY!
