I'm from Alberta and we are backed in a corner. Canada imports oil from countries with higher carbon emissions, no human rights and corrupt governments yet we can not produce more oil. We have the ability to produce enough oil for the country & export it for eliminating deficits. But it's ignored and it contributes to a higher debt and extreme inflation. Please wake up.

Why is nobody questioning our lack of investment into national refinery instead of shipping crude oil across borders to be purchased back at a higher price. Trudeau is a dope and this parade on the demise of a single province as shouldering the burden and taking most of the finger waging for climate change is disgusting.
@martinelduin22143 жыл бұрын
@@Jeremy-mk3ry "We" have no business investing in a refinery. "We" need our governments at all three levels to quit putting up barriers, most of which are in defiance of the agreements made as the western provinces joined confederation, and business will invest where ROI exists. This in turn gives pension funds, personal investments such as RRSP & RESP's an opportunity for good returns. Special interest groups, politicians with special interests, and outside actors have dictated what is "right and wrong" and the citizens no longer have the capacity for critical thought and are unable to see through, or call them out on the outright lies.
@Jeremy-mk3ry3 жыл бұрын
@@martinelduin2214 You don't think building an oil refinery to produce oil directly into market? We currently ship the majority of our oil into the USA to be refined and then bring it back to Canada.
@martinelduin22143 жыл бұрын
@@Jeremy-mk3ry Refined product is much different logistically than crude oil, and there are many aspects to your point. We have refining capacity in the east that could easily be supplied by oil from within Canada. Hell, there's oil under parts of Quebec as test wells have shown but no hope of getting permission to drill for production. To refine beyond our own use is a second part, the export part. We can, but it has to be moved to places with dense population to be cost effective. The Trans Mountain pipeline built in 1956, the twinning of which was fought against by BC governments, is unique in being able to move either. The lower mainland of BC buys gas from the NW states to make of what they're short on refining and storage capacity. We need, as I stated first, to untie the hands of business and investors, we can still meet the highest standards of environmental and safety standards of any country, and ensure our own energy security while increasing our GDP exponentially.

I wouldn't hold out much hope. Canada has for decades reflected US opinion, even when it had no relevance. I remember as a kid the anti war protests on Canadian campuses during the 60s, we weren't at war. Last year it was BLM, which is the average liberal in the US poling that they think the incidence of police shootings of unarmed blacks is 100X higher than it is (under 20 vs. over 2000). Liberals in the US believe there are 40 police killings of unarmed blacks every week. Which is admittedly close to what happens by democratic voters in democratic cities like Chicago, just not by police. Meanwhile, Canada, per se, has no history of slavery; and a black population of 3.5%, vs 14% in the US.

canadians in GTA, Montreal, Vancouver and Ottawa are not interested in these types of issues...they are almost mostly obsessed with racial prejudice and discrimination, social inequality, gender and sexual orientation and identity politics of people of colour, LGBT people, and women. Throw in blanket and far reaching platitudes about climate change, more social welfare and child care and reaching reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and these canadians will blindly throw their unbridaled support behind the Liberals, or NDP, instead of also thinking about whether the Liberals have demonstrated that they have strategies to better govern debt, address run away inflation, identify where leading edge industries can be developed to better align our skills with meaningful jobs and thereby raise the GDP, standard of living and generate more taxes. Canadians should also be asking their Federal Government to demonstrate what their plans look like to do more than just collect carbon taxes and set emission levels, but how they plan to move Canada off hydro carbons without destroying thousands of livelihoods and communities. There should also be questions asked about aligning immigration plans with targeted skill sets and not dumping refugees on provinces and walking away from their settlement. Finally, we should want theLiberals to demonstrate how they plan to deal with China, support NATO and improve the emergency response and detection to future pandemics. Unfortunately, it takes more than charm, good hair and chiseled features to. run a country properly. It takes astute leadership, selecting qualified people to take on Ministry portfolios and not pander to causes because it makes you look popular. Unfortunately, many supporters of Liberal politics fail to see the balance required and continue to vote Liberal because their parents did or the Liberal government allowed them to immigrate to Canada or ethnically theLiberal candidate in their riding belongs to their ethnic group.

It is now recognized World-wide that Vaccines do very little to slow the spread of COVID-19, yet we are still being Forced or Coerced by the Canadian Gov’t to take the VAXes and accept Vax Passports as essential. 1) What benefit does the Vax provide to anyone under the age of 50? 2) Should every individual not have the RIGHT to choose whether to accept a Jab? 3) Why would we not wait 10, or 20 years until safer, well-tested Vaccines are available for CHILDREN?
