I'm quite disappointed to see the two here joke about Canada/Greenland/Panama Canal becoming part of the USA (Haha only as a territory! We don't want those liberals in Congress and the electoral college haha!). What would've been their reaction if B or K had raised the idea? But never mind the partisan blind spot. The analysis was shallow and unserious; more than the lack of respect for other countries' sovereignty, it exhibits the very imperious and ignorant attitude that Americans are hated for.

Good luck with the new separate channel! For whatever reason I didn't always have all "Free Media" videos show up in my Subscription feed when under the main Reason channel, so maybe this'll be better.... But that's classic YT for ya
@reasonFreeMedia17 күн бұрын
KZbin can be finnicky sometimes! Subscribing here should show you every Free Media we produce. The main Reason channel has a ton of content so we want each of our shows to have their own channels to engage with their audience more.

@reasonFreeMedia Yeah, thank you! It will certainly be easier to find just these videos if happens again. Kinda hoping for the same thing with the Soho Forum debates since those only happen monthly (really easy to miss those). Otherwise, awesome show all, love to see it continue!

You are in luck, there are plans in the works to create a channel for our debate content. (Reason Versus is our new debate series and the Soho Forum would be a part of that channel as well)

@@reasonFreeMediaafter everything splits off what will be uploaded to the main channel? Are the Shorts going anywhere? Those are not showing up in my feed but do show up in the Home section. How else can I stay up to date about “good” ideas with the best of intentions?

The main channel will have the shorts and our comedy videos. The Unintended Consequences videos will still be on the main channel. Make sure you subscribe to the comedy playlist on our main channel and you will get all the videos you are looking for!

Those are some strong frames you’ve created, with good lighting. Good job here, the gentle far side key while still maintaining the catch lights in the eye without getting reflections and gear used as production elements is a nice touch. It gives a higher end texture to shows of this type.

You should post a few videos on the reason channel to tell people you have a new channel for the free media videos. But the ones on reasons channel were regularly not appearing in my subscription feed, at least a fourth of them, so this is a good move on your part.

Greenland seems plausible for Trump to get, if Greenlanders can be convinced. Greenland’s president did reiterate that he wants Greenland to be independent, but given how much Denmark subsidizes Greenland, independence could just be a way to get Denmark out of the way so Greenland can work out a deal to become part of the US itself. The idea of using military force seems a bit ridiculous and immoral.
@CountArtha17 күн бұрын
Immoral yes, but why ridiculous? Putin is going to get a big piece of Ukraine despite a lot more resistance than Trump will get.

The reporter asked Trump if he would rule out using military OR economic coercion. It was a loaded question.
@spacefun10117 күн бұрын
@ Yes, but still, Trump did not clarify at all. Military usage does seem improbable though because it would be wildly unpopular.

Poilièvre = PWAW-LEE-HEV
@va3svd15 күн бұрын
Close. There’s not really an aspirated “H” in there. PWA-LEE-EV works in English given our tendency to swallow the final consonants, but in French you do pronounce the final syllable with a guttural R and effectively a schwa.

I really like you Amber. I liked how pragmatic you have been on Reason and on The Hill. But I am upset that you let out calling Trudeau a "liberal loser" and with Canada saying "I don't want those liberals getting voting power in Congress." Politely, it is not becoming of you and hurts your representation as a factual person in an ad hominem world.

Canadian here. We tend to be notoriously thin-skinned when it comes to American attention. We crave it, but only when it’s positive; we lose our nut when it’s negative. We should probably stop caring as much what Americans think. We need to realize that despite our considerable economic contribution to the USA, the average American who isn’t involved in the energy or manufacturing or construction sectors (especially in northern states) has no idea how significant and beneficial that is. They just don’t have that exposure. Amber’s comments about our political culture come from not just a 10,000 foot view, but a view from another planet. It’s so removed from accuracy because frankly in her career she doesn’t need to care. She’s probably unaware that we have had provincial governments operate well to the right of even a Ron DeSantis in recent memory (Mike Harris’ and Ralph Klein’s governments, most notably). She’s probably unaware that before Trudeau, Canada ranked considerably above the USA on the Economic Freedom Index. She’s probably unaware that the same urban/rural dichotomy politically exists in Canada as the US, and because she only knows what she sees in media and media tends to agglomerate in big, liberal, cities, so she concludes that Canada must be awash in wokeism. Forget Alberta and Saskatchewan; she’s never set foot in Arnprior, ON, Saint-Georges, QC, or Trail, BC. (It is quite astonishing that as a staunch Catholic, Amber doesn’t have more interest in Québec.) Don’t remind her how much more fiscally conservative our Liberal governments under Chrétien and Martin were than the Republican administrations of both Bushes and Trump. It’s just easier to assume that we’re just a leftist backwater. I could also point out that our border is as much of a problem for Canada as it is to the US. For all Trump’s complaints about Fentanyl and immigrants from Canada, we have a constant flow of meth, heroin, crack, human trafficking, refugee claimants, and illegal guns coming up from the US. It’s OK when they do it, I guess. Anyway, I am more on the Americophilic side of Canada but definitely have accepted the fact that she (the US) is just not that into us, except when they need something. I personally think we need to diversify our trade relationships, especially into Belgium, France, and Switzerland to the East and South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore to the West. It’s time to develop stronger ties with countries less feckless and avaricious than the USA.

But, Trudeau isn’t. Has not said when he will resign. It’s subjective.
@va3svd17 күн бұрын
That’s because the Liberal Party has not yet planned a leadership contest and therefore he cannot put a date on it. Amber hinted at wondering who would become the Canadian Kamala Harris; if Trudeau were to resign outright now, there would be TWO Kamala Harrises: one when the Liberal Party installs an interim Party Leader (who would become Prime Minister), and another who becomes permanent Leader after the leadership contest, who also would become Prime Minister. And then Poilièvre would become Prime Minister after he wins in the general election. That would give us 4 Prime Ministers in one year.
