The fact that Suicide is now marked as an offensive word in 2023 is utterly pathetic and counter productive to trying to do something about it.
@andrew6978 Жыл бұрын
It's not "offensive", but youtube doesn't want videos advocating it on their platform and advertisers certainly don't want to be associated with promoting it either, which is entirely correct even if the method is a bit draconian. The problem is all statements like this do is show a misunderstanding of how depression works. People who struggle with depression to that level are unable to see beyond their pain. It's just so crushing and for a lot of people it can be difficult to cope with. Depression isn't always treatable. People need to have more compassion and understanding of just how heavy a weight it is instead of passing it off like it's something that will go away. Depression isn't bad weather. It's not always an easy fix.

Remembering that it's been episodic in its intensity when the circumstances change helps. Therapy's helped too somehow, but for me, only with the combination of circumstantial change for possibly the better. I appreciate that loved ones have been vocal when it's mattered that I still matter to them even after all that's happened, it helps anchor me here. I've just passed 60 and went through all that jazz. It's not that. Rather it's that all the new major troubles you encounter - financial/marital/housing etc crisis - suddenly look definite. With no time nor the energy to remedy & recover like before. No, not thinking about 'Druid Pride' here :), just shedding a light on how life problems seem different when you enter my (hell, Hetfield too) years. He knew what he was writing about. The only criticism I'd have after hearing 2 songs, is sonically they have kept it the exact same as the last album, sounds like it's recorded with the same mics/amps/guitars/drums/desk/producer. Not that it's bad, just it _sounds_ like Hardwired to Self Destruct Pt 2. Like a Load/Reload situation. But then I guess I should be happy I can hear the bass and it hasn't been brickwalled to distortion this time.

I was struggling with the rhyming and got to "Fluid Slide" before you explained, but I think we can all agree that Screaming Fluid Slide would be a better name for any and all songs

Loving your channel. I finally put two and two together and realized you sing Love is Only a Feeling. Fucking amazing song. Better Late than never.

Justin, today was absolutely the day I needed to hear what you had to say about this topic, whether it was prompted by Metallica or not. Thank you.

Some of this reminds me of something off The Cult Electric. Dig it!

I'd call this the Aolian Mode Upon F sharp, with the added flattened fifth; F sharp, G sharp, A, B, C natural (flat 5), C sharp, E.... This is, o'course, the blues scale in the minor pentatonic upon F#, which I'm sure will translate as "F hashtag"... This idiomatic sonic landscape can be used for such things as, say, recalling meeting a human vixen at The Whitby Folk Festival, and the happenings.. "she was.... 🎶"... Nice one Justin. 🌟👍

I literally started LOLing when he started learning the song’s main riff, and predicting where it would go all happy and upbeat.

love it, metallica being the legends they are, should be taking the lead in speaking up on this and swallowing their famous pride. love music that faces things without sugar coating it. could we possibly get you to listen and react to a song called "Victim" by Vitriol? going to be a metal song you'll need lyrics for haha BUT its a song about over coming self pity and pushing yourself to progress forward and UPWARD, and if not then oh well haha love the channel, and would love to also see that cow amp back there(mesa?) haha

Loved your reaction video as a whole, but I find it kinda ironic that you're unable to say the word suicide (for a totally understandable reasons), but that's EXACTLY what the song is about.. That we should be able to talk about it and talking from the suicide POV we should NOT "keep it inside" as this is what it wants you to do, which is the beginning of the destruction really. Hope to see you react to the rest of the album when it comes out! 🥂

Please get Metallica on your channel. I really want a breakdown of the 50 000 ways to use a Wah pedal 😬 Queen’s song Don’t Try Druid Pride was rather subtle on the subject 😉

Being censored for saying suicide on You Tube and not talking about it in public and online doesn't make it go away. If it offends some people they need to grow up. Ignoring a subject or making it taboo makes it worse. Free speech is dead in this country and it's a damn shame.

Feels like good old Deep Purple, Judas Priest, early 70's metal. Not really my cup of tea but I can really appreciate the musicianship of the guitars and drums.

Long live James Hetfield. Hope the man is ok as he’s a living legend. It just goes to show that a man who seems to have everything and a life most of us can only dream of, can get really depressed
