Iv never raced before but I’m building a race car and I’ll be making my first hits in a 2500hp car which should be scary as hell but I thought the video was awesome and helpful. I really like the idea on doing the same thing everytime and that way you have consistency. Thanks again man

Very good information Justin. My question is: You say you do everything the same every time and I know how important that is especially when the adrenaline is pumping. But you have several cars and I assume you built each of them. How close to EXACT in the positioning are the controls? Can you find them with your eyes closed? How much trouble do you go to in order to place each switch and gauge and lever EXACTLY in the same place for each car? Also, is there a "Standard" used around the industry for placement and "Feel" compared to other drivers? Thank You for the Teaching Philosophy on your channel.

Consistency is key yet since getting back into racing I've seen a lot of guys who don't get it. They'll run a test hit different then a full pass etc. I had one kid talking shit about me doing 330's like a real pass. Granted his turbo pos was faster but he was nice enough to red light for me lol.

How does whopping the throttle get fuel in the throttle bodies? Are you guys running throttle body fuel injection or multi port fuel inject? If it's the latter then I fail to see how that'll get fuel in the throttle bodies as the fuel injectors are located down on the intake runners. There's really no way for the fuel to run upstream of the intake manifold...... Nice video!!!!

You're describing 'muscle memory', when you talk about doing things the same every time. I've known and worked on world class athletes; they all have routines exactly as you describe. More so, the more individualized their sport, or their position. The body learns the motions, and remembers them. It's the basis of the old saying, Like riding a bike....you spend your young years, as a kid, riding a bike, you then get to be 30, hop on a bike, and your body knows exactly what to do. Developing your muscle memory, practicing your duties, and you hone your skills, perfecting them. There is a KevIn Costner movie, where he plays an older pitcher. The entire movie is his final game. You should watch it. It is the best example, and portrayal, of muscle memory habit, and execution. The character has a catch phrase, "Clear the Mechanism", which he says, before every pitch. Similar to your comments about the doors closed, and not opened again, for a pticher it is after the catcher gives the sign, and everything outside of him is done, and it is all him, from there on, just like you and staging, etc, he says to himself, "Clear the mechanism." and he does his thing. When I started in Sports Medicine in the '70's, the use of Sports Psychologists was unheard of. By the time I left pro sports in 1990, Sports Psychologists were being used at the college level. There is a lot in sports psych that could help you hone your mental aspects. You come to it intuitively, and you already practice portions of it, that's even better, because you will relate to, and understand it, better. How far north in Florida are you? There should be some good sports guys in South Florida, likely some good ones in Georgia, North Carolina. They will be around universities. Make one a part of your team, you will benefit. I lived in Vero Beach for a season, I know that 6:30 stickiness. That was right before game time, and boy, if it hadn't rained yet, the damn air would grind you down... I'm an old Oregon boy, we only have humidity in the Winter. It was 85-90° today, and 20%, maybe. Not like Colorado, (altitude), where it's so dry your damn nose bleeds, or other places where it gets hot and so dry, you can't spit. Good luck... GeoD
