The doctor had the symbiote in the vial in her pocket. She busted the vial and the symbiote bonded with her giving her those abilities but yeah your spot on with the rest.

As far as comics are concern, they did get some of his origin right. He was the ruler of space, before the universe's representation Eternity, created the Celestials to populate the universe which Knull did not like. After battling the Celestials, he created creatures from himself, including the Klyntar, Knull's race. Knull was not as powerful then, but still powerful. After being defeated the Klyntar realized the wrong they were doing and came together to make a living prison around Knull, which is what the name Klyntar means. It was only later in time, that Knull was able to get free. Knull is a universal threat, and does not need an Infinity Gauntlet. Knull is too good of a character for Sony. Sorry if this is long. I did try to make it digestible for non-comic readers.

The hippie family was in las vegas, that's when they should have been in danger and needed venom to transform. It would have been heroic. Instead we got an unfunny comedy dance scene

This movie was boring, it was them trying to make a "King in Black" without making a King in Black movie which like you said doesn't do justice to Knull character or development or why we as the audience should be worried about the hero. They didn't explain or try to trust the audience with the character development to none of the symbiotes yeah it was a dispoinment just like Thor love and Thunder and what they did to that villain character. My God please let them do justice to the villains and stop with this half ass movies they hype up and make you think it could be more
