I'm surprised you guys didn't point out how lazy, weird and confusing it was to have the Loud ancestors not only look the exact same as their present day counterparts, but be the same ages too. Like, they're supposed to be the family's ancestors - as in, the ones that were kids back then eventually grew up and had kids of their own continuing the Loud bloodline. But having all the ancestors be the same age as the present Louds implies that they died young, which makes no sense because then how would the bloodline have continued? I know something this dark wouldn't fly in a Nick movie but if the dragon had just killed all but one of the ancestors (who would then go to America and continue the bloodline) instead of just sending them away, that plot-hole would've been solved. I guess the other explanation is that after the ancestors died they just decided to live as their 'favorite' ages in the afterlife? But like, for the younger ones especially, that doesn't exactly make sense either - no one who's lived a full life is gonna want to live as a baby or a three year old in the afterlife. So yeah, it's just a really weird and convoluted choice that just comes off as lazy.

In my opinion the main problem with the film is that it only lasted 80 minutes, if they had made the film last longer maybe it could have been better and we could have done something more with the sisters, director Dave Needham told me (I had written) who had considered the idea that Morag manipulated Lincoln by putting him against his family but could not do so due to lack of time. They even considered a WATER TRAP TO DROWN AN ENTIRE FAMILY! This and the dragon burning the ancestors alive could have made the movie BETTER! Or, heck, EVEN CHANGING THE DUKE BACKSTORY: he was manipulated by old Auggie to kill his own family, and his ghost haunts the castle in a self-pity state but in the end the ghosts of his family arrive and forgive him like a true family. As someone who has seen a bit of the newest seasons, a couple of episodes have leaned into the whole supernatural angle that this movie seems to have. The obvious issue in that case is that both the newest season and this movie don’t fit in with rest of the series.

I’m surprised we didn’t get a Just Stop / LS Mark crossover before. As a Casagrandes fan (I find that show much more appealing than the Loud House) I saw this movie and thought it was fine. The character animation did look weird at points, and it was hard to think of what the plot of this movie really was, I did like the backgrounds, and the songs. I can even admit that The Casagrandes has issues like weird character choices and endings that feel rushed. @DCT-tt8ib3 жыл бұрын
@@engineergaming1537To put it bluntly, Mark and Braxton a pretty poor job at reviewing the show. They only watched the pilot miniseries and first season, and then jumped straight ahead to the Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitsu arc, which at the time of the video’s release was the latest finished season. They basically only watched the very beginning and the (At the time) very end of Ninjago, and then judged the entire show based on that small sample. And when you review a series with an overarching story this way, it makes you come off like a huge dumbass. It didn’t help that Braxton admitted in a livestream not long after the video’s release that he and Mark had no interest in treating the series fairly and basically made the video solely to piss Ninjago fans off, despite the fact Ninjago fans are relatively harmless from what I’ve seen. EDIT: As @Brickbob brought up, Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitsu was the first season to be produced after a massive rebranding of Ninjago that saw the series' production shift from Wil Film AsF to its current studio, WildBrain Studios. As I have not watched Ninjago in about 7 years, I don't know much about the series' current state. But from what I understand, SoFS is widely considered to be the show's worst season by fans due to the aforementioned production shift, which brought on a lot of new writers that simply didn't have enough experience with the show yet and caused a massive tonal shift compared to previous seasons. So not only did Braxton and Mark basically skip ahead to the (At the time) very end of the series, they also basically skipped ahead to what could be described as the show's midlife crisis and decided that midlife crisis was indicative of the show's overall quality.

I’m glad I found reviewers who didn’t like this movie as I didn’t. The Louds going to Scotland is interesting, but it was executed poorly. I’m a little surprised that the Loud Sisters are quite popular, they often cause chaos and destruction, considering the way they often behave and the series was originally going to be about a family of anthropomorphic rabbits, I’m sort of surprised that the creator of the show didn’t decide to turn them into talking chimpanzees instead (I know some children can be mischievous, but look at the Loud Siblings). Anyway I was disappointed that Lincoln didn’t find a special talent, yes his sisters said that he keeps the family in balance and it isn’t a bad thing, but that’s not really a talent, why not have his talent be comic book writing, magic acts or art or cooking, oh wait cooking is Clyde’s special talent never mind! In the Scotland town why didn’t anyone bother to fix that bridge? Oh Rita saying her ancestors have always been in Royal Woods is quite absurd, Colonial America anyone, that would also mean that Rita is a Native American and she isn’t! Come on, why not have Rita’s ancestry be from either Denmark, Netherlands, Germany or Sweden?! Oh the Rita look alike ancestor should imply that Rita has Scottish ancestry unless that wasn’t her ancestor and it also looks like incest has been occurring in the Loud Family. I thought the villain Morag was going to be an evil witch(I thought she was going to display other magic powers besides controlling the dragon), I also thought she was somehow going to get Lincoln to temporarily side with her, I felt sorry for her, considering the fact that the Loud Sisters behave as uncultured, boorish delinquents, what exactly made the Lincoln Ancestor the best of the Royal Family, what did he do? The songs were forgettable, not helping that it was primarily auto tuned, why not have rock n’ roll, broadway style or swing music(oh, it’s because many kids aren’t into broadway style or swing). The dark plot twist of what happened to the ancestors wasn’t even mind boggling or even that dark, I cannot believe that I actually thought it was going to be something more tragic. I suppose Lisa will finally start believing in magic now since Season 4, the series became more unrealistic. The good parts of the movie were the bond between Lincoln and Lily, some funny parts, David Tennant’s character Angus and the opening. I didn’t expect the movie to be Shawshank Redemption, Citizen Kane or Casablanca, I was hoping it would at least be good.

The fact that I didn’t even know this movie existed until people started reviewing it and saying how mediocre it was just proves how much Nick missed the mark with it tbh. The Loud House is a decently enjoyable show, but I’ve only seen a few episode here and there and never really got into it. I do dig its more “progressive” elements though, especially with having an openly gay couple for one of the main character’s parents. But from the sound of it, it seems the show just got worse as it went on, and this movie is just a prime example of that. Hopefully the spin-off won’t share the same fate.

My thoughts on SpongeBob and The Loud House back in the late 2010s (the most popular/successful Nickelodeon shows, especially SpongeBob to a much greater extent because of how much it’s been milked before and especially after Nickelodeon killed Stephen Hillenburg like Old Aggie but worse) *SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS* • Early 2000s SpongeBob (Seasons 1 - 3): Great (outside of a few episodes like Grandma’s Kisses and I’m With Stupid feeling like a typical SpongeBob episode of the post-2000s) • The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie: The best of the best! • Seasons 4 - 5: Not the worst, but definitely the point where the franchise started to overstay its welcome. • Seasons 6 - 9 (especially Season 7): Hell no!!!!!! (Although credit where credit is due, sometimes it can have great episodes like the stop-motion holiday specials and Sand Castles in the Sand, no thanks to Nickelodeon) • Sponge Out of Water: An overpraised mixed bag (the animation is decent except for Sandy Cheeks looking realistic, but the ending is just too mean-spirited towards Plankton nearly up to the ranks of One Coarse Meal which is the worst of the worst because without it, there wouldn’t be this many suicide rates!!!!) • Seasons 9.5 - 12: Guilty pleasure • Sponge on the Run: The worst in the trilogy • Early 2020s spin-offs (Kamp Koral and The Patrick Star Show): Just when you thought SpongeBob couldn’t get any worse… Seasons 13 - ??: *PLEASE, NO!!!!!!! JUST DON’T DO IT, OKAY, NICKELODEON AND VIACOM?!?!?! I SWEAR TO GOD, IF YOU EVER MAKE SPONGEBOB EVEN MORE MILKED THAT IT ALREADY IS, YOU WILL SHOOT YOURSELF IN THE FOOT WITHOUT RUNNING OUT OF AMMO!!!!!!!!!* *THE LOUD HOUSE* Seasons 1 - 4: Overrated! *claps x5* Overrated! - Benthelooney, who gave the show too much credit (like he said a half-decade ago, it’s forgivable if it has lowbrow toilet humour because it’s the saviour of Nickelodeon… *NOT!!!!!!)* Season 5: How could things possibly get any worse???? All of the problems of the Loud House Movie seem to be forgivable at some extent, but what can never be forgiven is how the creators have designed the main villain of the movie, Morag. They gave her a huge, backwards protruding butt, like her diet consists of nothing but frozen Krabby Patties from Goodbye Krabby Patty. Which by the way, were made with sand and inflates the butts of whomever eats them. Her legs aren't even in line with her actual torso, which may seems like a way to keep her balanced, but ultimately made Morag's design more ridiculous. And don't get me started on her high-heeled boots/fishnet tights combo. Let Leni Loud explain about it.

Alternative plot: Lincoln doesn't feel special, so he makes a comic about a superhero living with 10 siblings. It becomes popular and he starts getting apart from his family (even if he doesn't want to) because of fame. In the end he misses them and then it could have had the same moral in the end. I made the plot in 2 minutes. The Loud House movie took 4 years.

The problem with the later season of The Loud House is that the family work well when they are together. Lincoln is plainer than white bread cause he is meant as a straight-man to his sisters quirks. No we are not interested in Lincoln standalone stories that involve his unmemorable boring school friends. Even in the early season, I hate every episode that focus solely on Lincoln and his black friend. That friend (whose name escapes me) is the stereotypical loser nerd in the worst way possible. And his gag of being in love with Lori is overdone and unfunny in the first episode it appeared in. And the fun of the sisters' personality is when they're together. We don't want to see standalone jock story, musician story or pranskter story. We want to see how these different people interacts and get along.

Mediocrity is the worst fate any movie can have. If it's great, people love to watch it. If it's terrible, people love to watch it. Mediocrity dooms a movie to being forgotten, and it'll never find success. Except for the Loud House Movie being so popular for some bizarre reason
@shakurburton93583 жыл бұрын
Mediocrity is the worst fate for any medium, not just film. Books/novels, comics/graphic novels, TV/cartoons, anime/manga, etc. Mediocrity in any of these media == instant forgettability. You're right about one thing: when something's good, it makes us want to discuss and cherish what made it so; when something's bad? We make fun of it for being so, then move back on hopefully to something better than that. Something mediocre, however? A pain in the ass to discuss, let alone bring oneself to care about in any sense, even if it manages to do something right, or worse, due something worthy of anger/disappointment at it! Mediocrity is the worst kind of way to be rememered, as it makes you unmemorable. This feeling of all-around mediocrity unfortunately? It's something TLH has become for a lot of people in general for a long ass time, now (I found this show and its sister, Casagrandes, to be such from the very beginning, so whatever.). It's sad, really.

The few things I liked about it include the opening with the family's history, Lincoln's relationship with the baby, David Tennant's voice acting, and some of the visuals. I knew some things were off with the animation, but I didn't realize it was because a different studio produced it. On the bright side, at least Netflix has better Nicktoons movies, like the ones for "Hey Arnold," "Rocko's Modern Life," and "Invader Zim."

Imagine Lincoln being mistaken for Dante’s kid, the Loud Family going to MGRonalds while visiting Japan, The Rust Bucket arriving in Royal Woods, or the Angry Video Game Nerd moving there. Seriously, both The Loud House and this movie could have been decent. Like I said from another video, the show could have explored each of the main characters' daily lives and struggles (such as looking for summer jobs, school bullying, or homework), and plus, considering season five is already covering this topic, we would have seen each of them growing up and leaving the coop as time rolls by. And as for the movie, I feel like it could have been better than what it turned out, like with the animation and its overall plot. I was imagining the movie to be a 3D-animated movie like The Peanuts Movie and Captain Underpants, two wonderfully animated movies that utilized both 3D animation and cartoon properties altogether. I also imagined the plot to take place seven years after the events of the show. Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, and Lynn Jr. had left the coop and have either graduated college, began their careers, and started raising a family of their own, or they're still in college and are preparing to jumpstart their career. Lincoln has just graduated high school, and now, he's waiting for an acceptance letter from the school he's going to so he can earn an art degree and become a comic book artist. At first, I thought the movie would focus on Lincoln, but after some thinking, I decided that the movie's main protagonist would be Lily, the youngest child of the family. Think of it this way: ever since Lily saw each of her eldest siblings leave for college, she grew worried that, one day, she'll be the last child in the house, and she'll have no older siblings to look after her or to do fun activities with. So, she and her friends concoct a scheme to make sure Lincoln doesn't get accepted to college. That way, he'll have to stay at the house for a little while more, and that Lily won't have to see her brother go. Eventually, Lincoln finds out, and we get to see some potential family drama. I also thought of the movie would include a big family reunion, which basically includes Lynn Sr.'s side of the family. And I was wondering if we could see his mother, his siblings, and their kids as well; we were already introduced to his father, Leonard, in "Camped!". At this rate, we would have see a potential hurricane of Loud family chaos. I also think the reunion should also take place in a large mansion that they rented. Just think of how the owner would react after seeing their mansion get fridgin' wrecked by a family of 35 or 50. It ought to be good. It ought to be the perfect, wild Loud House movie instead of what we've got.

5:15 Actually Loud House has had fantastical or non-realistic elements since Season 1. Hell, they extend to character traits. Lisa's entire character of being a genius 4 year old, in Season 1 there are things like trash monsters and few hints of actual ghosts. So that's not entirely new with Loud House. Season 5 has made those elements more prominent however. Personally I don't mind them or think they're bad inclusions, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. Personally the Loud House nowadays is a overall a good time. But it's a mixed bag sometimes. Nick definitely needs to go back at what worked. It's a shame many people dismiss it as bad just because of its current failings. As for the movie, I thought it was fine. It hit the marks it needed too but it could have been more ambitious for a "theatrical" release.
@matthewdilday79183 жыл бұрын
It was toned down and it didn’t effect the main plot, but starting in Season 3 and onwards, the show started to lose it’s touch with reality by adding time travel, evil scientists, magic, ghosts, very cartoonish slapstick/gags you would see in Looney Tunes or Tom & Jerry and negative and unrealistic portrayals of Canada in Schooled. The series used to be relatively realistic.
@MoonGhostDoodles3 жыл бұрын
@@matthewdilday7918 True. But at the end of the day it's a cartoon so these elements is not something I'd call a taint. If anything I can see LH benefit from them now that they've tackled all the typical realistic settings for episodes. If I wanted realistic comedy, Id' watch something like The Office.

Why didn't they Go with a *slightly* more historical Route where the loud ancestors are exiled by the english? That could've been cool.

Tbh, I like that idea. Since the the Louds went away from Scotland in 1600s, it would be better if they were overthrown from their castle for political reasons like the English Civil War or smth like that.

Are we sure this wasn't just LoudHouseFan2007's fanfiction? That in a weird way would have improved the film, or even if they mocked the absurd complete tonal shift of the movie in a somewhat subtle or funny way as a jab towards how most Loud House fanfiction is utterly ridiculous and unfaithful to the real show? Also shout out to crossovers featuring a weeb and some irish lad. Gotta be one of my favourite genders.

So late on this one but the story could've been like this: Lincoln and the other boy (yes, there's his friend) who go to school. (BAD DAY BASICALLY) Lincoln comes home, sad. (WHATEVER) Lincoln notices a new person drives into the neighbourhood. They live right in front of them. Lincoln meets him after a few terrible skits. The new person welcomes him in. Without noise, he locks the door and makes him a lunch. He talks with him and says he had some trouble. Lincoln relates. Lincoln waves them goodbye and tries to open the door. He fails. Lincoln asks the new guy if he locked the door. He lies and says no. Lincoln tries even more and it still doesn't work. Then, he realizes that...OH NO...the new person is evil! For some reason, he finds a crowbar and breaks the frick out of the house. He tells everyone about it and they try and calm him down. Then a battle goes and (after 15 minutes,) Lincoln beats the person. Yay, woohoo! Yay! (Sorry for disappointment ensuing)

3:00 Even if it was animated with rigs, they switched animation studios for the movie since Jam Filled Toronto was too busy with the two shows. You could really tell since the studio had trouble getting the style right, often having shots of the characters where they look strange

The main problem I have with the movie was the conclusion of the whole “being special” thing lead to. Considering how overblown the sisters talents are compared to Lincoln, It’s a weak and lazy conclusion. I also don’t like how the sisters talent goes way too overboard to the point where they’re treated like the Kardashians.

Writers are afraid of decent romance plots in fear of fan over analyzing and oversexualizing the characters. You know that is true, look what happened to Rocky.

There's a reason why Nick separated themselves from this movie and just let Netflix have rather than move it to Paramount plus. They knew. They knew.

At this point, Netflix is basically like the dump of Nickelodeon stuff, good or not, perhaps because of the faith they have in the projects.

I would also like to say that this movie is full of stereotypes that I didn’t find offensive, just really uncomfortable and annoying, also gonna say how the citizens of the town have Glaswegian accents even though in the movie it shows a map and they are placed on the islands of the left coast of Scotland, around isle of Murray which is like 124 miles away from Glasgow

I saw the plot coming from a mile away, my niece was surprised that i knew what was coming. Everyone talked like they were there when the ancestors were alive. And i noticed that if the ancestors showed up as the way they appeared in the flashbacks then did they immediately died not long after they left Scotland? Goth girl died as a child

I have to agree with a lot of your points, I couldn’t really see a movie about The Loud House mainly due to how simplistic it is. I could understand if Nickelodeon made a Teenage Robot or another Spongebob movie, but for a show like The Loud House, it‘s really hard to make a good movie about it. I think a Ren and Stimpy movie would be better than a Loud House one.

This is exactly the problem I have with Bob's Burgers getting a theatrical movie. The show is Slice-of-Life, not only that, but it's devolved from "Linda contends with a bunch of art snobs when Gale's weird horse-butt paintings are hung up all over the restaurant," to "Bob and Linda get a fancy Valentine's Day invitation from a chef," and like, really? You're gonna stretch that kinda stuff out for a theatrical movie?

Did anyone notice that somewhere in the movie, Bobby thought Lori was breaking up with him and Bobby was going to go to Scottland to do something and we never saw him again after that? EDIT: I found out that the Bobby part of the movie was at the end of the credits. But no one will watch the film until the end of the credits unless it is a post-credits scene.
