The silence when Sirius died was exactly how it was in the theater just absolute shock, one of the hardest deaths (for me at least) because Harry lost his only family but also, Lupin, just lost the last of his friends, he lost his Ron and hermione basically and his instinct is to protect Harry in that moment. Also the fact right before he called Harry James really makes that hit home.

Harry’s scream was apparently muted there because it was a truly painful one because it made the cast and crew too emotional, in part because Daniel had actually lost a close family member like days before filming that scene, and it hit too close to home for him.

Harry and Cho kinda liked eachother since PoA . Then Cedric swooped in and got Cho ... Tbh , who can resist a sweet , caring, loyal guy like Cedric ?! So they dated and loved each other. Then Cedric was dead... All of a sudden. Cho had a very mixed feeling about Harry. It was a bit of a previous crush , a bit of rebound and wanting someone to share her sadness with . But Harry and Cho being two grieving teenagers who were prone to messing up ( a lot of teens do dumb shit like that), they had to break up . Their relationship was not working out and they chose their friends over each other. When I don't like Cho very much , I think she was a sad teenager who deserves sympathy.
@uggggggghhhhh Жыл бұрын
The observation of Voldemort representing darkness and Harrys mental anguish was really profound and I 100% agree. Throughout this movie Harry is struggling with thinking hes inherently a bad person and in the end, when Sirius, the only family he had left, is murdered, he goes after Bellatrix and attempts to hit her with the cruciatus curse (torture) but its unsuccessfull because he doesnt truly mean it, thats why Voldemort says "You have to mean it, Harry. She deserves it" basically tempting Harry to give into his pain and turn it into evil. Harry literally proves to himself that deep down he really isnt a bad person. On top of that, when Voldemort is showing him all the horrible things that have happened to him, Harry IN HIS GRIEF, has it in him to feel sympathy for Voldemort. Really glad you guys picked up on that!! Dementors are also a great portrayal of depression in monster form that can only be defeated by happiness. Also, when Voldemort & Dumbledore are fighting all Harry is thinking about is Sirius. From the book: “Let the pain stop, thought Harry. Let him kill us… end it, Dumbledore… Death is nothing compared to this… And I'll see Sirius again…" Glad Ash noticed just how well written Umbridge is as a villain and the actress playing her is phenomenal. 37:15 For one, it's illegal to use the Avada Kedavra to kill someone. And two, if I'm not mistaken, you'd have to REALLY want it in your heart to kill someone for that spell to work. It doesn't work with anyone. That's why people like Voldemort can use it so effortlessly.

Got ya!
@comentariosyoutubecp260 Жыл бұрын
AFAIK, the thing with "you really must want them dead" comes from fan fiction. Eliezer Yudkowsky's specifically. The rule is: the first time you use Avada Kedavra you must want to utterly kill the target. Not in order to accomplish any other goal, but out of pure unblemished hatred. Once you have "unblocked" the skill, you can use it on anyone you hate, even a little. And the reason Voldemort is able to cast it so effortlessly is because he despises everyone and really does not care whether anyone but himself lives or dies.

Love ur mental health takes! Additionally in a simple way, this series respresents bullying and overcoming hardships. Everytime Harry faced his own bully figures (the dursleys who treated him badly, not trusting adults/those using power corruptly like umbridge, malfoy &co, dementors, voldemort) he would run away, hide, or comply quietly. That was his way of coping. But when others would be bullied on, he stands up for them. This evolves into negative feelings/anger towards the bully and wanting justice. When things got more serious and darker (childhood transitioning into adulthood) he became braver but eventually learned to see that the bullies are also victims in their own ways. And he sympathizes with and pities them, which takes away their powers as a bully.

As others have pointed out, Neville's parents aren't dead, but they were tortured to the point of insanity using the Cruciatus Curse. That's also why, in the last movie, Barty-Crouch-as-Mad-Eye-Moody singled Neville out in the classroom when teaching the Unforgivable Curses and made him watch as he used the Crucio on the spider, and why Neville was so horrified by it.

Some background, in the book Harry is quite disturbed after learning how his father had treated Snape. So much so he risks getting caught using Umbridge’s fireplace to talk to Sirius and Lupin about it. They reassure Harry that while James could be a bit of an ass, especially where Snape was concerned, he eventually grew up, saying they were all kind of idiots when they were young. Also Snape was into the dark arts so James felt kind of justified at the time.
@MR.Z1991 Жыл бұрын
James and Sirius were horrible to Snape not just because of "Dark Arts" that was just a convenient excuse for them. Real reason was because Snape was the poor dirty kid from a broken home and James and Sirius were the rich snobby kids.
@delpowell2835 Жыл бұрын
Not entirely, James was jealous of Snape's friendship with someone, I won't name right now I case Ash and Hannah read these and get a spoiler, which curled his dislike of Severus.

@@MR.Z1991 right? I always disliked James Potter so much and Sirius was horrible to Kreacher in the books
@-Default. Жыл бұрын
Going off of what’s presented in the books, everyone who knew them speaks quite highly of James and Lily. The only dark spot involving them is Snape’s memory. Snape and James had a mutual hatred in their youth but by Lupin’s account James grew up eventually. I experienced a bully who I hated when I was young. It’s hard to let go of but as an adult he’s a lovely person and contrite about the way he used to act. Point being people can change and I’m assuming what everyone said about James and Lily’s goodness was true. As for Sirius, we see he’s a good man with some issues. One of which is his inability to let go of his school grudge with Snape and the other being his treatment of Kreacher, which as Dumbledore explains is connected to Sirius’s painful relationship with his parents and the fact he’s miserable trapped in the home he hated so terribly. All that to say, from the information we’re given in the books and films, Sirius and James became good, if somewhat flawed people.
@eschatological Жыл бұрын
@@solongandgoodnight1820 All of this info is from Sirius and Lupin's account of it. What we see in Snape's mind is probably the most accurate, because it's a memory and not a story (which, btw, he hasn't shared with Harry to bias him). Of course, memory can be unreliable, but there's some confirmation that the events took place from other characters. Considering what we learn later about Snape, I feel like Sirius and Lupin are the unreliable narrators here. There's something to be said, as well, that Snape becomes a death eater not because he's evil or supports Voldemort, but because he's been bullied and broken.

In case someone hasn't explained this already...the Defense Against the Dark Arts position is actually cursed. By Voldemort. When he graduated, he approached the then Headmaster of Hogwarts Armando Dippet but was rejected because he was too young. After he blossomed into his "look-at-my-sexy-slits" phase, he was rejected by Dumbledore who was Headmaster now cause duh. So he cursed it so that no one can stay longer than a year. A detail that's never really mentioned throughout the movies.

Actually you two are the best. Your nagging, discussing or smooching in between those films make your reactions so enjoyable to watch. Because of that, one can feel how much you are invested into these movies. You really get carried away and thats what i call a real reaction. No fake emotions or anything. Even when she cries over that gift from Hagrids troll, maaan so sweet. Hope i was able to describe with my English how much i like your Channel. Looking forward to the next movie, I can´t wait to see it. Greetings from Germany ✌

I also love how only Dumbledore calls voldemorte Tom, to everyone else hes a supernatural monster, the Bogie monster under the bed, but Dumbledore knew him from the beginning, so to him Tom is still a sick, angry and disturbed little boy who needed way more help than he was given, n because of that he became a vile serial killer, so Dumbledore probs holds the guilt for how Tom turned out N ALSO all the people he killed since, Dumbledore enabled that in a way

I am obsessed with your reactions! It’s honestly fun to see someone who finds humor in the bullying/not nice scenarios in contrast to the everyday hp fan who doesn’t. Also Umbridge is brilliantly horrible and has been voted numerous times as the most hated character. Hated more than Voldemort LOL The actress did an amazing job and is so nice irl. She hated the character and felt sick playing her but still was outstanding.

I'm so impressed with your understanding of Umbridge as a villain. So many people assume that she's in cahoots with Voldemort, but that's not it. Voldemort is pure evil--not hidden, recognizable, and as a result, something that can be identified and guarded against. Umbridge embodies an evil that's far more boring and familiar--the fear of change, a desire to hold onto power, a willingness to blind oneself to any number of things in order to preserve the status quo and stability... we're all vulnerable to these things and they can sneak behind our defenses because we willingly believe our own lies. Bit by bit these little bits of evil can add up to something thoroughly grotesque.
My favourite of the series and you guys didn’t disappoint, up there with the Spartacus finale reaction, one of your best!

In the books Harry didn't reverse the spell and get into Snape's mind because before their lesson Snaps removed the memories he didn't want Harry to see, in case that happened, and put them in a pensieve. Snape got called out of the room during a lesson and Harry, knowing full well what a pensive was at the time dived in, cause he's so nosy. He complains a lot about not asking to be in the situations he's in, that's partly true as Voldemort really is after him but a good portion of the time he gets involved by choice because he 's too nosy. That's the whole reason he got involved in the Philosopher's Stone. And a lot of other little things in the other book storylines.

Interesting thing about Voldemort is that he wasn’t inherently bad. The story is that his muggle father was drugged by a love potion called amortentia for many months on end. Years even I believe but how his father treated his wife after he came to is what made Voldemort hate muggles BECAUSE of all of that long story I cut short for you guys. So yes it’s the SYMBOLISM of the mental health for sure. Showing one’s children notice everything. So don’t sell them short. ❤
