Very impressive project. So many irons in the fire. The progress you've made is outstanding.

Use aquarium rock for the edge of the river. It’s easy to paint by putting it in a ziplock bag with acrylic paint! Love your layout! Still saying more structures.

@@cjbeyer8340 I have tried some aquarium rock, but haven't mastered painting it yet. I'll have to try your method. I have you down for structures. Thank you!

Hi Allen. Your layout has a lot of potential. You have lots of great ideas and know what you want. It's very hard to pick just one location to start the finishing work. I really like your massive river as that will showcase the first wall. My suggestion would be to start there. I do not know what this toilet paper method is but may I suggest using Mod Podge as I have seen this work quite well to imitate water. Paint the riverbed into the color of your choice and then apply a coating of the Mod Podge and let dry. When the first coat is dry come back with a second coat but stipple it to create moving water. Give this a try on a separate test piece for your approval. I think you like the outcome.

It is hard to pick one location to work on, that's why I make you guys do it! LOL The toilet paper method can be found at this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIXaoXVtqLuApJo I do have a couple types of Mod Podge as I've heard it's pretty handy, I just haven't reached the point scenery-wise where I've needed it yet. I will certainly give your suggestion a try though, maybe I can just skip the TP...LOL. Thank you for your comments and vote!

Walthers does not have parts for kits laying around. For example, to replace missing parts, they have to open another complete kit to do that. Something I found out working with their kits. Take Care!
@KandWRailroader2 сағат бұрын
@@marcsisk2454 I figured they didn't stock spares which is why I tried to learn about what it would take to get spares. It's fine, John at Whistlestop Models hooked me up. I shoulda started with him anyway. I won't make that mistake again.

Vote recorded! Thank you! Actually, I've found his method has been really good for me for multiple reasons. First, I enjoy the participation from the viewers. If they care enough to watch and are interested enough to participate in my layout's development, then I have no problem at all prioritizing what they want to see. Plus, I always get motivated by their feedback. Second, this method keeps me from getting bored or burned out because of such a huge variety of options for work tasks which is something I really love about this hobby. And finally, I've found on multiple occasions that when I leave a particular task or location for a while, returning to work on it gives me a new perspective, new ideas and has often generated positive change. Sometimes when I focus solely on one task for too long, I forget to take a step back, think about what I'm doing, and question whether it's even the right thing. I understand that this method may not be for everyone, and I'm sure there are downsides to it, but so far for me, I think it has worked pretty well.
