He said, "Shit, I live in the safest house in town". Of course, I asked why? He said that anyone escaping wanted to as far from prison as possible, not the house next door to it. 🤔

That first story? Let me tell you how lucky that guy was: on that very channel I saw another dash cam compilation that started the same way. Guy gets pulled over and ultimately arrested, cops ask if there's anyone else in the car, and he says yes, in the trunk. What he didn't tell them was that the man in question had been chopped into pieces and stuffed into a duffel bag prior to getting put in the trunk.

to answer your question at 9:45 he is detained under reasonable suspicion of committing a crime (escaping prison), so hes not under arrest but he is not free to leave until told his detention is over. Usually this happens with identification occurs and they make sure hes not the suspect. Also the ADX florence prison supermax that he was sent to is not the same prison as the red onion like you were thinking

Impersonating a cop is not only stupid, it’s dangerous. I’ve seen vids before and you’ve reacted to a vid where the simple traffic stop turns into a deadly shootout.

No the guy can't just walk away. He has to identify himself. The cop really messed up by not identifying him since he had no I.D.

I was caught in a flood in Southern part of Canyonlands National Park in Utah in late July 2003. We drove about 20 feet down the barely flooded road until we realized our mistake, backed up immediately, and by then the water had gotten much higher, to the bottom of the car door. Luckily we got out, found a high patch of road/ground. The flood had washed out the road and construction equipment had to be driven in to repair it before we could leave since it was the only road in or out of the park. We were stuck there for the night and most of the next day until they leveled it out enough so cars could leave. Stuck in the park were my friend and me and a bunch of Korean and German tourists. Luckily we had supplies with us because we had been backpacking, food, a gas stove etc. One awesome part of the whole deal was we were able to cook our food under what turned out to be a waterfall from the runoff; it was amazing to see it, you got an idea of how all the rocks were formed. It was a scary and an amazing experience but one I never hope to have again.

@@mage1439 I forgot to mention but this was the same park where the guy had to saw his arm off with a pocket knife and if I recall that had happened only a year or maybe two before we had our little adventure. Glad I didn't have to cut off my arm.

In the prison escape video, the guy could say he doesn't want to say anything more, but upon doing that, the cop could arrest/detain him. Arrest and detain technically mean different things under the law but the difference is small in this case.

Jeremy Dewitte from Florida has a history of being a fake police officer. It doesn't seem to matter how often he's caught or what it costs him. He has a business of providing escorts for funeral processions, but pulls people over and constantly breaks the laws of equipment he's allowed.

The guy that escaped prison is so twitchy and weird that cop is pretty unobservant to have let him go. The one in the mudslide, though, is out here going high level on serving and protecting.

Wrong way drivers are almost always drunk. I once had someone come right at me. I switched lanes and they just flew by. I was going 60mph. They had to be going at least 80. Called 911 and saw cops flying down the hwy responding in under a minute.

I had a similar experience. I ended up flipping around and following them and called the cops. When they stopped the guy must have noticed I’d been following because he got out to confront me. I asked him why the hell he was driving on the wrong side of the road a little ways back and he explained that he had just got home from India (he was Indian) and was still used to driving on the opposite side of the road. The operator must have overheard our conversation because he immediately quipped “Ahhh Binder Dundat”. I bust out laughing and all was good.

The first incident is a perfect example of why traffic enforcement is so important. So many things have been prevented by traffic stops, I don't understand people that say traffic enforcement shouldn't exist

I always thought the bull bars were for pit manuevers but my dad's car blew a tire on a blind turn down a hill on a freeway an the cop pushed our 10 seat car all the way a half mile off the freeway.. we stood on the side of the freeway while 18 wheelers nearly hit the car at 75+ after the battery finally died meaning the hazard lights were off to it was sketchy thanks to that cop for real!!

The police impersonator scam is known issue in certain parts of the U.S. The do it mostly in rural areas, at night, so the victim can't actually see their car, just the red and blue lights. We've been warned to not stop in a place unless the person's car can be seen. We are told to call the local law enforcement, to find out if they have a car in that spot, and/or drive to the local law enforcement office to stop.

Its not always drunk drivers that drive in the wrong side of the road. The US road system has thousands upon thousands of miles of 2 lane roads that intersect 4 lane highways. People (especially the elderly) sometimes get confused about which lane they are supposed to use. In the day time they usually rectify their mistake quickly but at night when the traffic is slow it can be even more confusing especially if a person is not particularly familiar with that road.

Having your license taken away won't stop a drunk driver. My so called grandfather lost his decades before he died but he kept driving drunk. He was in and out of jails and even spent time in prison but he was just a drunk. He never cared enough to know my name or any of his many grandchildren's names. The funniest thing is when he died my Aunt was going through the police academy and her classmates, who knew nothing about him, did a salute at the grave. We all just busted out laughing and my Aunt had to explain he hated the law. My husband said it was the first time he was a pallbearer to a man he had never met. Drunks are horrible and are horrible to their families.

Here in Colorado, the punishment for kidnapping is up to 24 years in prison, and up to 1,000,000.00 in fines. I'm sure it's pretty close to the rest of the states.

Impersonating an officer is a misdemeanor offense, sadly. Some of those people cannot pass the psych test or are otherwise unsuited. Some have other criminal intent. More than one case of a person impersonating an officer 'trying out' skills pulling over people until going after the intended victim. Usually sex offenders. Great opportunity now a days for people with real sense of public service to join law enforcement. ALL police departments are seeking personnel. Pandemic knocked the stuffing out of more professions than just nursing. Just saying.

Unfortunately there are a lot of wannabe police officers who failed training/security checks and never made the force. Close to me there was a guy who was a military policeman but had received a dishonorable discharge. He tried to join the force but his record failed him so he started pretending. He actually pulled over a State Police Trooper who realized the guy was fake.

In the United States your first conviction for drunken driving will get you a minimum of 3 days in jail and a 90 day loss of your driving liscence. The sentence is usually 90 days jail time with 87 days suspended, 90 days revocation of your driving license, and a $2,500 fine with $1,000 suspended. A second offense is 180 days minimum, 2 years suspended liscence and up to $10,000 fine. Some states take your car and sell it on your second dui. A third offense in 10 years has a minimum 2 years in prison, permanent lifetime ban from driving and up to $50,000 fine. If convicted of killing someone while driving drunk you could be sentenced to as much as 25 years in prison depending on which state you are in.

Years ago my grandfather was a long haul truck driver and was on an interstate [I don't remember what state now] driving when a wrong way driver going about 100 mph hit my grandfather head-on. Come to find out the driver was trying to commit suicide [he succeeded with my grandpa] and had already caused several cars to run off the road to avoid him. Police were in pursuit trying to stop him, but just were not able to. Physically my grandpa was fine, but was upset about the incident for a very long time. Officers tried to comfort my grandpa by telling him they were glad it was him instead of a car with a family that surely would have been killed had they been hit. Although he appreciated the sentiment, it was still hard for him knowing he had been involved in an accident that resulted in someone's death.

The people who pulled over for the guy are uneducated on the law that an unmarked police car can't pull you over. NEVER PULL OVER FOR AN UNMARKED CAR call 911 and report it they'll patch threw to the police where you are and find out if it's actually an officer

Regarding people impersonating officers it doesn't get reported as happening as happening all that often but it has the potential to be super damaging for a community. Not only can that person go around looking for people to rob under the guise of a police seizure from drug offenders and such there have been a few cases of people doing it to find victims to rape and other horrible things. And then it also has the horrible effect of making everybody in the area question and distrust police officers because now every time they see an officer they end up wondering if it is a real officer or not. And then the potential for absolute disaster come into play because what happens when people defend themselves against officers because they honestly believe they may not be real officers OR they simply use that as a defense for fighting officers and they can point to the news of the fake cop as evidence for their defense.

That mudslide was in Montecito, CA up the coast. It wasn't just a mud slide, it has rolling boulders the size of trucks. They smashed through houses while the rest of the mud ran over the freeway ( the 101 ) and down to the ocean. There has to be a video on here that shows the distruction. It was unbelievable!

James, yes, it was just after the fire, which was the biggest in our history. Tha denuded hills never had s chance to hold, they just melted under the rain. Horrible night. We've seen it before but not to that degree. Incredible that so few people know about it.

Those people who impersonate a police officer often want power. Often (and this is scary) they’ve been known to sexually assault women doing it. People going the wrong way are often drunk or old. My father in law went the wrong way on a highway once. He was stopped by cops and they gave him a ticket. He was just old and got confused. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

The man that escaped prison mailed his self out of prison. He worked in the mail room loading and unloading the mail truck and was able to build a large box with a shipping label.

As for the 4th video for the escapee an officer can detain someone for no more than 60 minutes per the law. If they cannot get any evidence to prove you committed a crime in that time they are required to let you go. Does it always happen, no.

9:42 you don’t wanna play that card because he’s wanting to be as unassuming as possible and easy to deal with for the officer. Bring cagey about answering questions makes the officer wonder well what does he have to hide. Or he will try even harder to see if you’re who they’re looking for because you aren’t making his job easy. Under normal circumstances maybe he could but there was a crime committed and I would think he would fall under reasonable suspicion walking in the area so personally I would think there’s enough to detain him

Officers use that excuse even when there is no description. Just to violate your 4th amendment right. Its very common especially if you are black. But in this video there was a crime and a description so yes he had every right to detain the man.

Nah they might have released the guy, and heres the reason why Kabir. If you steal someones car they are going to call the cops, now you got cops looking for the car your in which wouldnt work out if you needed to use the car. There is a chance they just wanted to use his car for something shady af and didnt want cops looking for it. Once finished the robbery they wanted to do or w.e it was they very well might have left him and the car somewhere to be found. It wouldnt be the first time
