Can't imagine how super excited you were for unboxing such a piece of coffee luxury. Recently got my Sage Bambino and Eureka Mignon Filtro that I swapped to espresso burrs yesterday and feeling extra happy lately so you must be in heaven with all these insane quality grinders any coffee lovers would dream of having. They really need to step up their game for the box of accessories though, they all look like cheap-ish stuff you'd find on Aliexpress for 40$ a set 🤣 The Decent combined with the Monolith gives off a cool biotech lab vibe, looks like a microscope to me but I really dig the design. Keep it up, hope the testing goes smoothly !

Thank you very much. Never had Bambino, but my first machine was Barista Express and it was great. I even recorded a video comparing it with Decent and the shots were comparable. I had Eureka Specialita and it was very good grinder so you should be happy with your setup. Shots from MC5 are soo different than anything I ever tasted. I am discovering tasting notes that I couldn’t find at all b4. Sometimes it is almost overwhelming. So much so that my wife prefers DF83.

Pretty amazing how well it does compared to the Decent if that was your case, that's reassuring ! One whole rotation of the adjuster is equivalent to 514 microns burr spacing (not target grind size), every hash is roughly 5 microns, the useable grind range for MC4 for spro was 1 whole rotation from burrs lock, MC5 might change a bit. So if you ever take it apart and zero the triangle indicator to burrs lock that's roughly what you can eyeball. p.s they calibrate the triangle indicator arbitrarily to usable spro at the time of testing.

Good show, you can tell the money is just for the grinder the other bits are just stocking fillers. As you said this would not be your first grinder so you would probably all the accessories you would need and more like all of us coffee geeks lol. Great video! How it compares to Weber Key or HG-2 83mm conical burr?

Thank you. It has 71mm dual burrs system so it crushes the beans first and then slowly feeds them to the main grinder which in theory should help with even distribution of particles. It eliminates harshness from the flavour spectrum and provides both clarity and good body. I don’t have a Key or HG 2 so can’t say anything about them, but soon will record a video comparing it with Niche Zero.

Thank you. It will be 100% my own verdict. I might be wrong (on many occasions I am) but at least I am honest. Having said that, I would love to be subsidised as my budget is limited. I approached some companies but so far nothing. Some, and I don’t ask for much, coffee bag or so, they react like if I was asking for their daughter’s virginity 😛

You know, I buy and sell them all the time. It is no cheap to run a channel like this without any sponsors. Anyway, right now I have 4 electric and 4 hand grinders and already preordered something big for next year, probably May. I will take it slowly with MC5, have few ideas how to play with it. So far I can describe espresso from it with one word- awesome.

@@mycoffeeshow111 I love the workflow but the shot that comes from it leaves a lot to be desired. Not a lot of note separation with shots having a lingering bitterness. Seems like the kafatek has more clarity.

@@fLiP7o7 well , the Niche is great, simple to dial ingrinder that offers great body and chocolate flavour notes. It shines in ristretto style shots and milk based drinks. Unfortunately it does lack the clarity hence people have multiple grinders for different purposes.

Same cheap bellows and same funnel I got from the Monolith Titan Flat, I think the same dosing cup too but it's in the box somewhere I never used it heh. RDT bottle is nice, good micro-droplets but I don't like using RDT. The WDT Needle tool is new! And pretty nice. I like the 3d Printed model because it spreads the needles out a bit more. For the very first shot should have used the funnel and probably wouldn't be messy without RDT but I did make the mistake of using the Monolith flat with the DF64 plastic dosing cup at first and it made the grinder ANGRY with STATIC :D Not sure if you got the same results though. The spout design on yours seems better, I'd always get some retention in the chute, and the bellows or just removing it and knocking it back on would clear it.

From such an expensive grinder I would expect some accessories to be of better quality. I tried later with the funnel and no RDT and it still was messy. Retention so far is near zero. I don’t use the bellow much as it blows coffee dust everywhere. Are there any cheaper alternatives for the wooden tops? Kafatek sells them for $65 which is a bit too much.

​@@mycoffeeshow111 I think he focuses on the grinder mostly, not so much the accessories I guess. Not sure about the wood lid, I see some for the P64 on Etsy for about the same but in Canadian $$. Try without the plastic dosing cup (needs a metal one or direct to portafilter with a funnel) I'm curious if that helps with the static or mess. My plastic dosing cup caused so much static mess for so long before I realized it was the culprit!

Well, in my head I was comparing it with Niche, where tastes are mixed together, with little to no notes separation. Here we have lots of taste notes clearly detectable, but shot itself feels silky and with good body. Also no muddy feel like you may get from Niche.

be careful before you open this grinder burrs you have to use a torque measure Allen key to reassemble it in a certain torque and order. one of my friend damage the thread in the body of his grinder and destroy them.

How do you know that you have the Shurikone burrs in there ? You bought the cheapest option, so I assume that you didn’t opt for TIN burrs. I think that in that case you get the Mazzer burrs.
