Here are seven exercises that may help alleviate symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome:
1. Wrist extensions: Hold your arm out in front of you with your palm facing down. Use your other hand to gently bend your wrist upward, holding the stretch for a few seconds. Repeat on the other hand.
2. Wrist flexions: Hold your arm out in front of you with your palm facing up. Use your other hand to gently bend your wrist downward, holding the stretch for a few seconds. Repeat on the other hand.
3. Finger extensions: Hold your hand out in front of you with your palm facing down. Gently spread your fingers apart and hold the stretch for a few seconds. Repeat on the other hand.
4. Finger flexions: Hold your hand out in front of you with your palm facing up. Gently curl your fingers inward toward your palm and hold the stretch for a few seconds. Repeat on the other hand.
5. Thumb extensions: Hold your hand out in front of you with your palm facing up. Gently pull your thumb away from your palm and hold the stretch for a few seconds. Repeat on the other hand.
6. Forearm stretch: Hold your arm out in front of you with your palm facing down. Use your other hand to gently pull your fingers back toward your forearm, holding the stretch for a few seconds. Repeat on the other hand.
7. Ball squeezes: Hold a small ball or soft object in your hand and squeeze it tightly for a few seconds, then release. Repeat several times on each hand.
Remember to take breaks and stretch regularly throughout the day to help prevent carpal tunnel syndrome from worsening. If your symptoms persist or become severe, it's important to seek medical attention from a qualified healthcare professional.
