How would Kaido fare in a fight against the 2 legends Gol D. Roger and Whitebeard? I used to think one way but NOW my thoughts have changed quite a bit.

Basically, he's comparing the clash of base Luffy who just achieved conquerors Haki quoting(a noob) and Kaido who is much better at it to the likes of Roger and prime WB just off of visuals. He neglects the fact that after the clash, the next time we see Kaido, he's monologing about how Luffy got him hyped up over nothing. Luffy was done after 1 clash and Kaido's club was a bit cracked by clashing with a noob. Roger and WB kept going and it seemed like child's play to them, they were having fun. Following his pov, then if Nami unlocked armament haki and blocks an attack from Ulti, right away she should be on the same or similar level as Zorro just because visually it's black and was used against a strong opponent and can block bullets and swords too...lol

It was stated that WB was the most powerful pirate in the world when Oden joined his crew so 2 years before roger got sick; however, the Vivre card also mentions "The Great Pirate Whitebeard who stands on an equal footing with Roger" , so take that as you will

That is intentional. Oda makes it open by labeling certain characters with "strongest" titles. Yet always *portray* them as *runner-ups.* - WB has the title. But Roger is the king. - Kaido has the Title. But his fight against Oden exposed his invincibility as largely a cover-up. - mihawk has the title. But Shanks has since only been taking on the "strongest overall" as a swordsman. People put big mom and kaido over mihawk. But it becomes gray when it's shanks, when he has only been going up thanks to kaido himself.

I always took those titles with a grain of salt but it would've logically for white beard to be slightly stronger in the eyes of people like the marines at the time. Cause of the strong ass advanced Haki and the most op paramecia. Also lastly his crew was inferior on paper too rogers but they were able to fight them on equal footing.

I think Akainu is probably the strongest admiral, but theoretically, Fuji's devil fruit is the most broken as it is just a straight upgrade of Shiki's. Kizaru's too is broken. magma has one of the most offensive powers, but y'all sleeping on the other admirals if you think they can't give Akainu a extreme diff fight. Anyway this is just my headcannon, so take all i say with a grain of salt

I think all the top tiers are very close in power (old and new), that includes people like Katakuri, Mihawk, Admirals etc. They are weaker then the Yonko but not by much. It all depends on the match up (and whether or not you are the MC). Like Biscuit from HxH explained even if D < C < B < A, D on his best day (favorable match up) can still beat A when he is not at his best.

Old whitebeard~Kaido, the reason old whitebeard has such mediocre showings is 1)he was terminally ill, living off of Doffy's drugs/life support 2)he had heart attacks mid battle n that's a pretty big nerf and 3) he got fuckin stabbed in the beginning of marineford. Prime WB should defeat Hybrid Kaido.

@@WSM_03 if I had to bet on Prime WB vs Hybrid Kaido, I'd say Prime WB high diff- he'd come out of it pretty bloodied n hurt, but he'd still be standing n not completely worn out, not limbs lost nor life threatening injuries. The reason I think WB chose not to go to Wano is cause he himself would be facing a high diff duel, while his crew would likely sustain heavy casualties

In my opinion, Kaido is the most complete fighter. He has one of the rarest devil fruit that allows him to lift islands, gives him scales for defense. He is so fast that even future sight can not do much against him. Kaido also can use Conquerors haki on his attacks. Kaido can heal quickly. It will not be easy for Whitebeard/Roger to take down this dude. As KOL said, They can take some permanent damage from Kaido even if they win.

WB has the single strongest paramecia. insane haki above everyone but Roger and Garp and while we've never seen him actually be fast for real, hes obviously kept up with Roger every single time they had a bout, who kept up with Garp whos obviously above Shanks, Mihawk, Kizaru and every other fast fighter we've seen. in terms of being a complete fighter, and devil fruit users, Newgate is definitely the strongest. Kaido's immortality is a problem, im not going to take that away from him, but you dont need to kill someone to win the fight. and in terms of just pure skill, intelligence and raw prowess, Garp has trained all his life in every martial art the Marines know. it was said every vice admiral or most vice admirals know Rokushiki. in terms of speed, who do you honestly think would get punched in the face more by current luffy? Prime Garp or Kaido?

@KOL I saw your Wano video peep game: The core theme of Wano is Will. Kaido is a breaker of will. Conquerors Haki is a manifestation of will. This is why we see conquerors flow this ark. I don't think this is advanced conquerors just yet. Mononoke and the Scabbards inherited Oden's Will. Zoro inherited Oden's Sword and in a way his will. Luffy Carries the will of Wano on his shoulders after Udon Speech. What if advanced conquerors is a physical manifestation of will. When Zoro first uses Asura, Kaku calls it a manifestation of his will. Luffy is the bringer of a new dawn, and he has a mysterious ability called Red Hawk. Maybe this is the beginnings of his ACoC. Also in the Video games, Shanks has Haki lightning and that might be his will manifest, with the whole Norse thing. Idk if this can be possible but I'd love to see kaido materialize a second club out of his conquerors and use Oni-Giri. Just a dream of mine

We can definitively say that Whitebeard was in his prime, but we honestly can't say the same about Roger... he had only a few years left to live, so maybe his sickness was weakening him? Roger and Whitebeard used to fight each other all the time in the past before Roger got sick. What we saw in the Oden flashback was their last clash and Whitebeard said he couldn't tell Roger was sick 🤷‍♂️

It was stated that Roger's condition was terminal but it was never stated to have made him weaker. Oda seems to be very clear whenever a character is weakened (Garp mentioned his old age sapped his strength, Whitebeard not even using advanced armament when at Marineford despite doing so in his prime, Don Chinjao admitted that his old "ailments" have dulled his ability to fight, etc) which means Roger was likely at full power. The fact that even during their final clash, Whitebeard and Roger were equal (and continued to be portrayed as such with Whitebeard being stated to be equal to the Pirate King) cements this.

Interesting to observe that this is the inverse of God valley, where Xebec, WB, BM, Shiki, Kaido Vs Garp and Roger for protecting the celestial dragons while here at onigashima it is 5 supernova Vs BM and Kaido to open wano. I wouldn't be surprised if Onigashima were to be God valley inferring additionally from Marco's statement that on how the island is being named currently. So I think this is what will attract the marines, CP0 to join the war with many more secrets lurking beneath.

Usually when putting a character first and then an insinuating answer it's assumed the character listed first vs character listed second then low/mid/high diff.

I completely agree. I also think this aplies to the marines with Akainu being at the same level as Prime Garp. If the current era top tiers where not at the same level as the top tiers from the previous era that would heavily lower Luffy's accomplishment and he would always be viewed as a lesser Pirate King as Roger.

@@JATARO9 Lack of feats don’t preclude characters from scaling to other characters. Feats serve to confirm, contradict, or clarify lore/portrayal. If there’s no lore/portrayal but we have feats, then the feats establish a baseline for that character’s scaling. If there’s lore/portrayal but no feats, then their scaling is the lore/portrayal until we get feats that confirm, contradict, or clarify that. What specific feats are you talking about? Lore/portrayal puts shiki, Garp, and Sengoku as being, more or less, equal to Roger and Whitebeard. Roger stated that both Garp and Sengoku could give him a tough fight. Garp is a stated rival of Roger. Shiki potentially has a case for being the strongest out of all of them (it’s unclear but he fought a 2v1 against Garp and Sengoku and he seemingly dropped or injured garp in the conflict), but he’s portrayed as being close to all of them (at a minimum). Big Mom fought Kaido for a day. And I haven’t seen Kaido pull off anything that Big Mom couldn’t. Big Mom has the same conqueror’s haki coating, arguably has better durability, devil fruit is just as powerful and versatile (if not more versatile), and has comparable physical strength. Shanks stopped Kaido from going to Marineford (when he really wanted to fight Whitebeard) and came out of the other side clean (literally). Kaido stated that Shanks could give him a tough fight and compared him to the likes of Whitebeard, Roger, rocks, and Oden.

@@zel7396 Akainu took two bloodlusted quakes point blank from Whitebeard, saved himself from falling into thr water, got back up and then fought almost all of the Whitebeard commanders to a standstill. The Admirals, at least the pre-skip one, are all on the same level. Luffy has been injured easily by the Yonko and has been knocked out twice, while barely doing any damage to them. No way has he surpasses the Admirals.

Which was roughly 2 years before he got sick. So most likely if WB even from the island fought the true prime Roger they wouldn’t have been equals.

I agree with the overall message of the video, and I also believe that Kaido would lose, but it'd be an extremely difficult battle. BUT, I do want to state my opinion on a few things regarding Luffy's power in the future after Wano. If Luffy wins against Kaido 1-on-1 (and I personally believe he will), that does not mean he has surpassed Kaido in terms of power. What I mean by this is better explained using two examples: Lucci and Katakuri. After both fights, Luffy could not be considered stronger than them until way later. It could be argued that Luffy and Lucci's power levels were still the same in relation to each other even until Marineford, and that only changed once he started learning Haki; and even though Luffy won against Katakuri, I think we can all agree that Kata was still stronger than him in every way, and that only changed in Wano, after Luffy mastered Future Sight, learned Advanced Armament and now Advanced Conqueror's. What I mean is that Luffy defeating Kaido doesn't make him stronger than him just by the fact he won, and I believe we're starting to reach the power ceiling of the series. In my honest opinion, Luffy has only three more stages higher to reach in terms of power: The mastering of all three types of advanced Haki, Gear 5 and possibly Awakening.

I agree most people don’t seem to understand that fights in one piece are battles of wills. Losing does not mean you are weaker. Even if kaido was to loose to luffy one could argue the amount of fights he went through in the span of a few hours(he went 9v1 against the scabbards, went against the supernova, went against a coc powered up luffy and still won). Conqueror’s haki is kind of a double edged sword. It’s cool and interesting, but it’s hella exclusionary. Basically anyone who isn’t a chosen one (and isn’t at this super chosen one level) has now lost all combat relevance. So either Oda is going to have to give a lot of characters conqueror’s haki (at this super chosen one level), conqueror’s haki gets trivialized and nerfed, or only the 12 living characters that have conqueror’s haki matter now.

That's not to say one can't develop this resilient soul through experiences too. Conquerors Haki was foreshadowed by Zeff in Baratie and he says it best: no weapon, fruit ability, or power can beat the indomitable heart Luffy and many others posses in the One Piece universe. It's how Oda chose to weaponize and manifest a fighter's unwillingness to give up or change their minds in the heat of combat. Luffy beat Crocodile without conqueror's Haki and he always would, cause Crocodile gives up before Luffy does 1000 times outta 1000, that's the point and what makes conquerors so dangerous as fighters, they don't give up- that's why everyone shat themselves at Marineford, because they understood that Luffy has that heart, tenacity and determination befitting a king. When it comes down to it, Conquerors Haki is potent and lethal, but the fighters were that to begin with- Oda just rewarded already special individuals with the next step of "fight with your spirit" levels of powers in his verse. I can't wait to see how strong Shanks spirit manifested is.

Until Wano (potentially), conqueror’s haki has never allowed anyone to beat another character in a fight if they didn’t already have the capacity to do so. Luffy beat Crocodile because he was more powerful than Crocodile in all of their confrontations and he didn’t have to deal with an extremely unfair devil fruit advantage in their last one. Where was Luffy’s tenacious and determined spirit when his crew was seemingly being decimated in sabaody? Where was Luffy’s tenacious and determined spirit when his brother got killed right in front of him at Marineford? Spirit only comes into play when the power to back it up is present. All of that is well and good. But there’s no denying that Oda has created a top tier combat ability (the magnitude of the conqueror’s haki coating boost is significant) that is inherently inaccessible to those who aren’t chosen and is seemingly going to be a requirement going forward in the top tier. Keep in mind that in the time between when Luffy got knocked out by Kaido to when he awoke, he gained the ability to genuinely clash with Kaido (something he had absolutely no chance of doing before). Like I said before, this addition is cool but it’s also problematic. How do other’s without conqueror’s haki continue to compete now? As of now, 9 of the 13 (2 have been implied to have conqueror’s haki, but have yet to be confirmed) living top tiers don’t have access to conqueror’s haki coating.

To Whitebeard's credit, I'm fairly certain the Beast Pirates have more crew members than the Whitebeard Pirates, and Kaidou chose Wano as his base of operations because it's a natural fortress that even the World Government couldn't take on without serious casualties. And even if Whitebeard had taken the fight to Kaidou, Wano would probably be destroyed and he would have had both Big Mom and the World Government breathing down his neck. And let us not forget that Kaidou had earned a reputation as 'The Strongest Creature In The World', implying that he was somehow above Whitebeard and Big Mom.

Finally, thnks KOL ! Exactly, We should stop to assume or think that the old era is so overwhelmingly more powerful than the new era. The reason their bounty is so high is because they started the pirate era in the first place and that's the biggest damage someone could do to the WG. As for why Kaido and Linlin lost in the past well that's because that's in the past, things changes. We're going to the finish line, we should now get to that point where characters from today catch up to the old legends. Characters from today have more competition (because of the named Pirate era) and should therefore get stronger.

In the Oden flashback at least it seems that Oden, in a high diff fight, would have been able to beat Kaido if not for the Old Hag Oden would have beaten Kaido. At that moment Roger and Whitebeard were leaps and bounds stronger than Oden. So Roger and Whitebeard in their prime would definitely be able to beat Kaido mid to high diff, for sure. This then brings to question whether Kaido is stronger present day than he was in the flashback and I think it’s clear he is stronger than when he was in Rocks’s crew. If Kaido is currently at his strongest, as though he is in his prime, I believe that Roger in his prime would still win in a fight against present day Kaido, before Roger’s illness. Again there is another idea this creates. If characters grow stronger the older they get regarding Kaido and BM being at their current strongest in Wano, it begs to question how strong Roger would have grown to become if he had lived without his illness. I think it’s clear, if this is true, that Roger at old age would definitely sweep present Wano Kaido.

I think it's still a case by case basis though: Big Mom SEEMS to still be at the peak of her strength despite her relatively older age but she also suffers from some kind of gigantism mutation so it's possible it affects her aging as well (actual Giants can live for like 300 years ). This is why power-scaling in One Piece is broken, we use head canon to suggest that there are "levels" but then a character like Boa can kill someone like Roger if he got a boner looking at her, while she's not "on that level." Just because Shanks is accepted widely as being comparable or equivalent to Kaido, doesn't insinuate he can win a fight with him ten times out of ten.

i really thought whitebeard PULLED UP on kaido after hearing of oden death because of kaidos introduction he says "damn whitebeard did a number on me" but that never was the case till that chapter, with the flashback he never went. that really puts down what whitebeard use to stand for with whoever hurts his family they wont get away with it and how close both of them was hoping theres more to this and they actually did fight eachother or kaidos intro makes no sense in what he said

I think it has alot to do with WB's character. He will never put his son that are alive in danger especially when it has no positive outcome. But he would give his life for any of his son if the right opportunity presented itself. With that in mind, we also must understand WB also knows that if he died his son would not be as protected as when he is alive. WB understood that Oden was dead for several years already when he found out. No point in risking his whole crew's life for a dead man. It is totally different with Ace's story. Ace was still alive. Oden was already dead for quite a while when WB found out.

It would never be a low diff. Mid diff? Very unlikely. But a high to extreme diff for sure. This is if he were to fight them 1v1. But if it's a 2v1, it's easily a low to mid diff

I always thought that whitebeard never went to wano for 2 reasons: first, the casualities marco was talking about are more likely the wano citizens, and like Oden he doesn't want innocents to die. Second he only knew that "kaido had defeated and killed Oden" I'd say no one told him about the old hag, and since he knew how strong Oden was I can see him wondering how strong Kaido had become and hesitate based on that.

I'm not sure if they are a full tier ahead. It was implied that Roger snuck his way through Big Mom's territory to steal a rubbing of her Poneglyph rather than fight her head on. That sorta tells me that even though Roger would beat her, it would be a long fight. I think it's safer to suggest that the Emperors, Primebeard and Prime Roger are all on the same tier, which Primebeard and Roger simply being at the top of that tier.

Haki was just vague asf basically brought in cause logia's were too op. Seems Oda brought it in so Luffy and co can stand a chance against op devil fruit users nothing more. We have yet too even learn it's origins it's not fleshed out at all imo.

I mean Haki is sorta tied too the will of D and it's bloodline. But on the contrary it's pretty much nothing but will power. It's getting a bit outta hand too where it needs an explanation. Like how the heck do curtain people have future sight,voices of all things and this non sense, being able to communicate with fishmen, talk to people telepathically etc..It was okay from the start, it was broken down too where it had some what of a structure. the series has been going on for a minute now, these simple things should be taken care of. We have no idea about devil fruits aswell one of the primary things during pre-ts we're finally getting some light on it through Luffy's fruit so I hope Oda goes into more detail on what happened and how and why shanks wanted the fruit in the first place. But I doubt it cause who's who is down for the count sadly. there also seems too be a magical devil fruit book out there like bruh 😆 other series break down their power system from the jump almost 90% of the time. nen,chakra etc..I like one piece and all but too many things are being left in the back burner which makes things feel super dragged out. Realistically though I don't get when the last time the crew actually gathered any clues on finding the one piece. compared to rogers crew the straw hats don't even come close in their quest in actually trying too find the damn thing 😴😬
