This song was played first in the year 1964 or 1965 during the language carol service of Christian medical College by tamil medical students I was responsible for gathering students and organizing the Friday evening tamil students prayer time,aresponsibility thrust upon me by seniors.Non tamil students would often ask me the meaning of "thalaloe" It is such a blessing to hear it after 64 years

I was a teenager when Dr. Anand Chellappa as a young doctor came to Central church, Vellore and sang this song. Ever since this song has been my favourite Christmas carol. On 17 December, 2023 our singing group “All for Jesus” will render this melodious lullaby to Jesus in St. Marks cathedral, Bangalore, as a tribute to Dr. Chellappa. Praise be to our Lord.
