Interesting but have still not yet understood what is the Haoki railsaver ! What and where is it exactly ? Does it save any rail ?

Great question, my friend. 🤙🏽 The “rail saver” portion of any surf leash is the overlapping Velcro section located at the end that gets connected to your board. Good winds to you! -Aaron

@@MACkiteboarding Thanks ! Why is it called rail saver ? What the hell does the rail of the board have to do here ? Saver, I understand that's because the connection avoids losing the board when the rider falls. But why choosing a velcro ? There is better than a velcro to save a board from riding without its rider in gusty and wavy conditions !

@@Gilloup It's called a "rail saver" because it saves the rail of the board from damage caused by the leash line. It's not as much of an issue with foil boards since they are more robust but a shortboard can get serious damage if the leash line puts a lot of pressure on the rail in a wave situation. The triple lap velcro has been the standard in surfing for many years and has been proven to be reliable and simple. For that reason, it's the industry standard for connecting to boards. -Tucker

@@MACkiteboarding Okeyyy I see this comes from pure surf. Here the rail is the side of the surf board. There was a confusion with the 2 rails of a foil baseplate.

There is 4' or 6' for the length. What size do you recommend for the wing ? Thanks
@MACkiteboardingАй бұрын
It would depend on the board or wing size you are connecting to. I typically ride the 6' size and just tie a knot in it if I want to use it on a small board or wing. -Tucker

i have been a big fan of the reel leash - mainly because it gets that board pretty far away from me when i crash and has decreased the chances that i get hit by the foil.. - have you used that type of leash? did you like it? and will this effectively give the same safety based on your experience? I like that it has no moving parts, and the reel leashes will all fail eventually. Edit (and Thanks for gear review videos.. really appreciate them!)

yes, these are a similar idea and far more reliable.
