The thing you do better that the rest of tutorials, is doing it together! Not just explaining how to, but at the same time. Great help for home routines!

Another great video Yusuke. I'm loving how you're stressing the body pestering and mechanics; especially for this universal kick. Hey we do the first two drills regularly in my dojo. That third drill looks cool. Might just do that one for home training this summer.

Sir would you plz elaborate why to keep upper body on same level both in mae geri and zenkutsu dachi stance OR why to keep the leg on ground bend while doing mae geri? 🙂
@KarateDojowaKu4 жыл бұрын
If the upper body moves, the opponent will sense you're coming! The bend leg absorbs the force from the front!

What if you only practice mae geri and punching during the day, how much time is devoted to mae geri? just two minutes too?

Side kick we make a „pelvis shift“. Should we do with front kick and back kick also this little „pelvis shift“ or this pelvis Shift is unique only for side kicks??
@matsug57043 жыл бұрын
For a correct MAe geri we used to do this, let one student do Mae geri with two students on the sides holding a bo knee high, if you messed up because you didnt lift the knee high enough you would kick the Bo and well hurt your toe or leg :P

Hello, I'm very interested in learning,I've recently come to a realization that being the age I am, and being out of shape is not going to make life any easier as I get older, and have decided to make a big change in my life starting with my physical fitness. I was curious though, for someone who is like me, mid 30's, out of shape, terrible balance and flexibility, do you have any videos for stretches and/or workouts for absolute beginners that cover working the important muscles and gaining balance? My fear of jumping into some of these more advanced lessons is learning the wrong habits, and doing things wrong and becoming complacent doing them wrong, because I'll be thinking I'm doing them right. I'm already doing a light daily regime of 2-3 sets of 30 crunches, 10 leg lifts, and 10 push ups ( these are through out my day not all in one sitting, so for instance I'll do one set of them, then maybe an hour or two later do my second set, and so on) Right now I'm just trying to be more active through out the day to lose some weight to where I'll feel more comfortable practicing something like a kick, or a proper stance.

That shouldn't be the purpose of your practice. When you're doing the punch correctly, as a result, you will hear some sounds.

,,Watch this if you are beginner,,...... No. What I think beginners should watch is how to DIY boxing bags and stuff. I created upperbody figurines and connected them to my pullup tower. I can train any kick at home, and see if it ladned correctly or not. For people like me, sensei who does not explain it, enough just is correcting your form is bad for me. That is why I left local karate, and contiue to train at home. I had to figure it all out myself to reach high level by practice, but now I can explain that stuff better, than teachers of karate back those days when I was kid.

I remember white belt still... cause I kicked my own ass... When bringing the knee up, I used to go down. I struck myself with the knee so hard on the chin... I NEVER DID IT AGAIN.
@bencebuda45993 жыл бұрын
I'm currently a white belt and well, I didn't do that but I fell several times because of bad landing after the kick :D Sometimes I still fell thanks to bad balance during the kick.
@mizmera3 жыл бұрын
@@bencebuda4599 I am no pro, but try and get a mirror to see what you are doing incorrectly. Leaning too much forward or backward etc. I learned to keep myself centered and keeping my hands in defensive position when doing the kick. It automatically helps with getting your kicks to land where you want, and not luck shots.

Imagine if you practiced this kick every day for a year on both legs, if someone attacks you at the pub, you don't kick, it kicks all by it's self and most likely puts the hostile in hospital.
