Masutatsu oyama trained shotokan and boxing, so it's not a suprise that straight punches are similar to boxing and also shotokan. oss

Assalamualaikum sensei, please make a tutorial about head-punches defense, as a kyokushin karateka myself who cross trained with kickboxing, i found difficulty in defending against punches to the head, best regards from kyokushin indonesia.. Osu

Can I please ask something. Is it normal to pivot on your rear foot in kyokushin. Me and my sensei talked about this and he told me to keep both my legs on the ground but I though pivoting is better. Because you can punch harder. I respect him too much to argue with him. Do you think I should pivot on the rear foot or even the lead foot. It is kinda frustrating because I am training for really long time and always took pivoting on your legs as normal because we aslo do boxing and there it is normal. Please tell me your ultimate oppinion on this. Where and when use it.

What's the difference between this and boxing? Why doesn't Katsunori Kikuno fight like this?

@neromma i have question in the jab Do you push with your rear foot so that you transfer weight to the led leg and you twist at the same time? or you just twist and leve the weight centrally?

Спасибо за видео, у нас в России каратисты часто пытаются подстроить свою ударку под кикбоксинг и технику ММА, сделай субтитры на русском, с радостью люди будут смотреть, спасибо

Love your videos! I just have a question: for a real street fight or an MMA/UFC fight, do you use Kyokushin style punches more, or use MMA/Thai's punching skills? Is it possible to create a new variation of Kyokushin that more suits for MMA/UFC?

Thanks man! Honestly I try to do it more boxing style, but years of doing kyokushin has put its mark on me. Kyokushin needs punches to the head in my opinion ☝️ MMA gloves and headpunches

@@SamuelSocceresports You mean the "We run up and down the dojo and punch holes in the air" Shotokan?
@SamuelSocceresports3 ай бұрын
@@MeisterShepherd based on their footwork and stance if they learn some boxing its going to be so effective because it'll help throw long distance punches very well

This should be shotokan not kyokushin sir...

No it shouldn't since I have no experience in Shotokan but 24 years in Kyokushin.

@@NeroMMAoh nice. But using some shotokan footworks and stance is going to make your straight punches stronger and more practical.

@@NeroMMA I was trained from shotokan karate then I started boxing with my friends and from most of my experience the shotokan style of straight punches are way harder and unpredictable to knock someone out with proper technique. And Boxing gave me good ideas to utilize my karate punches work better in combinations and with head movements and improve my hand speed.
