Too old to have asthma? Lady, it’s a medical condition, not some phase teenagers go through. I know this because my mom has it and she needs an inhaler too. Honestly, I’m surprised Karen’s automatically assume that a disability is just a “phase.” Also, what makes her think it’s okay to call an inhaler a toy? Does she seriously have any idea how she could be liable to pay for it if her kid broke it?

Dude, so true. Though I have no diagnosis of asthma and/or respiratory issues, I've had countless slaps of strep throat and stomach bugs, which aren't fun to deal with. But stealing someone's inhaler? I'm not letting THAT slip. If I was an adult that just happened to be with OP, I would've called the COPS on that Karen and pressed charges.

I have asthma and most cases of asthma have nothing to do with the lungs. It's the trachea/ breathing tube. The trachea gets irritated and starts swelling shut. The meds in the inhaler open it back up again. Thats what my doctor told me.

First Story I can somewhat relate. I dislocated my knee a few months ago and you really can't move your leg without intense pain. After my knee was popped back in place I had to use crutches and wear a brace for several weeks. The main thing is asthma though, and I don't have asthma so I can't relate with OP on that, but it is still a scary situation and the entitled mother was a monster in this story. Luckily OP had an awesome friend, dad, coach that were able to hep the OP and even the entitled mothers older child helped.

The first story is very similar to what happen to me, I dislocated my knee cap back in 2017. during me throwing a ball at a wall, during gym class the ball went passed me after I threw it at the wall, I thought I turned around normally but what happened I turned around and instead of taking a step I fell face first onto the hard floor and the lower half of my body felt numb. I couldn't get up so I freaked out and they turned me around and my kneecap was to the side so my school got me in a wheelchair and they called my mom to pick me up. They got me to the emergency room and while the doctors got me out of the car my bad leg hit the door ya that was very painful, I yelped totally broke my mom's heart. when we got me a room for some reason the doctors were crazily booked and it took them forever just get to me. But when they finally got to me they wouldn't give me pain meds to put back into place, so I asked for it and they did so. They fix my knee put it in a brace and I was stuck in crutches the end of that school year and for half the summer I got physical therapy and now I'm able to walk pretty well it's been 7 years since and I'm doing better now sorry for the long comment 😆

Imagine if the girl in the first story died. The Karen probably would have said she was faking it to get attention. Medical conditions can cause serious harm if they aren't kept under control with medication. I know this, because I had a pretty scary experience myself once. My doctor called me in to have a chat about my Epilepsy medication. I hadn't had a seizure in 12 years, and the medication I was on at the time was only a very low dose. He told me to try weaning myself off of the medication, because he didn't think I needed it anymore. I did as he told me, but a week or so later, I had a major Epileptic seizure which landed me in the hospital for several days. I'm back on medication now.

That first story... First off, calling an inhaler a toy is just willfully irresponsible to teach your kids. That could be considered child endangerment as taking medication you don't actually need can come with side effects. Secondly, the idea of someone being too old to have asthema is just BS. Asthema is not a childhood disorder and could effect anyone of any age. It's possible you could grow out of it as my dad has asthema as a kid and still keeps an inhaler as an adult but hasn't really needed to use it. Turns out in his case the reason for his athema was because both his father was a chain smoker and as soon as he wasn't constantly breathing in smoke he didn't need it as much anymore. In my case I never had athema as a child and only started needing an inhaler as an adult. Mine seems to be triggered more by stress and anxiety but there was a period before I started using an inhaler where I was sleeping outside, on the poor sat in a lawn chair in the middle of winter cause I felt like I was sufforcating every time I tried to lay down inside the house. Sinse I started using an inhaler it seems to relieve those symptoms.

OK, that innocent kid in the first story was an actual gigachad. Like, his mother and sister are both being idiots, and then while the mum and OP's dad are arguing, he steals the inhaler from his sister and gives it back. Then he tells OP to run. Gigachad.

I'm actually very impressed with the innocent kid. He did the right thing, and probably got in trouble for it. Though to be honest, it sounds to me like his mom isn't strong enough to enforce it, so I would probably just refuse the punishment if I was him.

As a person with asthma the first story pisses me off. Asthma is a medical condition that ranges from being very mild to severe; it's not something that is tied to age. I've experienced a few asthma attacks and when they occur it feels like suffocating; literally gasping for air just so you can breathe. An inhaler can be life-saving, if you steal someone's inhaler while they are having an asthma attack your basically just going to leave them to suffocate. This is literally attempted murder.

I have astma and In extreme cases i have thrown my inhaler to people who actually need a huff. (only once It has happened, but I have no problem with It) But this Karen, If she dares doing this to me and not taking no for an answer then I would be happy to take a strong grip and march her to the nearest police station and report her.

The first story reminds how in middle school (can’t remember which year) me and B (another kid i knew who had asthma) and basically everyone in my middle school with asthma at the time which was only about 4-ish handfuls was called out to a seminar during school because they had incident in a PE class a few days before, another kid let’s call them X was not necessarily having a asthma attack but problems breathing, they wanted her to take a couple puffs to see if it would help or if they needed to take more action, apparently X proceeded to press the pump spraying it on their neck like it was some kind of perfume, the PE teacher and Nurse after making sure they didn’t laugh at X then had to go into detail explaining what a inhaler is how it helps people with breathing problems and of course most importantly how to PROPERLY use it, and after doing this for X the PE teacher and Nurse were understandably worried so they went to the higher ups and they saw no harm in doing a little safety seminar, and went on to explain the whole situation that happened and the things about inhalers that they explained for X to all of us, I already knew sense my mom has some medical background and explained in great detail everything she possibly could to me on top of my doctor also explaining, but I kid you not I had so much trouble holding back when I was seeing a good 5 or 6 of the kids just sitting there with a mix of embarrassment and confusion on their faces, I’m just confused on how because don’t all doctors explain how to use them properly when they first give them to their patients 🤔

To OP whose mother hit the child on the bike... This IS one time you need ti ignore your mother and at least talk to your dad or a school counselor. If you're scared of repercussions, say you hears about it at school and wanted to know what the other kid should have done.

Honestly, how is it that the Karen thinks that people have to be young to get asthma? You don't have to be a certain age to have asthma🤦‍♀ An inhaler isn't a toy... The Karen needs to go get arrested. It's the OP's medicine! She literally had a panic attack. I cannot believe how stupid the Karen is. I bet the innocent child is embarrassed about his mom being a Karen that is sick in the head. I don't know why people are getting treated like this nowadays. This has to stop.

Story 2 I didn't even need to hear the story, a hit and run was committed, you gave to report that as soon as it happens it is illegal to not for a reason. The parent is going ti gave to own up to their crime or it'll hit harder when it catches up, and this will damage OPs mental health worse as it simmers. Also if the parent is willing to let possible manslaughter happen that is a huge irresponsible red flag, the kid she hit is lucky, and the parent of the op needs to learn responsibility, don't sit on a crime OP report it.

lesson to all people: if someone has done something wrong, they need to face the consequences of those actions. You saying something and them getting them in trouble, is not your fault. it's theirs. THEY did the wrong thing. Telling someone about it is the right thing. It doesn't always feel good, but it's still right. Poor kiddo
