I feel like all of these songs interweave with one another, telling different stages of the same story. Maybe a story about a woman who lives in a world very different to ours, darker and less hopeful. Other people have long ago given up on love and light. She is the last one to cling to anything good and whole. This woman, who once danced along a path so dark she could hear whispers by her heels as a child, is terrified of falling, because she knows what is waiting down there for her when she does. Onto the next song! :D

A woman waiting at her window for another letter from her husband. He's been gone to war for months and he hasn't written in weeks. She waits for years with nothing except for their children and pictures. She prays everyday and begs for an answer that will not come. In my minds movie screen it happens as a time lapse and she slowly gets older and older, just waiting. Sorry that was so long, your songs help my writer's block 😅

I don't know how to explain, your song "Disappear" moved me in a deep way and made me think about someone that i love very much who i want to meet again who is a thousand miles away from me in Finland. I wish to tell him how happy hes made me with his music since i was 12 years old and how it has connected me on a deep level even though i'm not in a relationship with anyone just yet. I know he (Ville Valo) has gotten many feedback like that and my dad probably told him when me and my dad met him, although i wanted to tell Ville myself and tell him my life's story, I didn't get a chance. Anyway, this is again a beautiful song :)

This is haunting and beautiful from start to finish, but what you do from 2:50 - 3:30 seems truly inspired. Your piano continues its same metre but your voice and Roxane’s cello holds the lyrics and melody notes long. It is an amazingly beautiful and dramatic variation.

((Just had to write something to this.)) Tears long since washed away by the ink that stains my fingers from all those letters written then burned, never needing to be sent as the flames encroached upon the awaiting parchment. Even as I then tried to paint with the colors of my mind, it only became a dull picture of where I last saw you. Must I continue to take a fleeting glance out the window to spot nothing but the over grown grass that used to gain your attention so frequently, the gardens long since wild with the eternal absence of your fingers. How long must I wait, for I fear my body cannot wait much longer for you to return to me, as it may soon crumble and waste away like the horrible cookies we once tried to bake and fail. But even as the stars of our fulfilling nights together fade I still gather the memories like old cards to once again bring life to them, despite being unable to feed them the spark you once caused with but a single touch. May you find your way through weeping poppies and silent trumpet symphonies, may you once again step foot upon my doorstep and breathe life into my world.
