At some points I think your mistaking punk aesthetics with post punk. Although punk encompasses all of the subgenres, I think his darker more goth aesthetic is more similar to post punk

Jared Porter yes I agree that a lot is post punk, but for the sake of the series I am using all the sub genres that emerged from punk and labeling them as punk as just an all encompassing umbrella term. Goth is definitely more post punk then punk. As well as grunge and proto punk will also be referenced as punk just because at the root imo I believe that’s what they are.
