I just got the speed Demon pro and after 30 minutes of use it developed a terrible noise with vibration while casting and retrieving...... contacted KastKing and now to see if they send me a new reel or a refund

Great video brotha! Love the speed demon. For some odd reason my speed demon started to grind and don't know why. I use it for top water with 65lb braid. I clean it up and lube it and don't know

Was the star drag thread left-hand, because the reel was left hand crank?. I have a KK baitcaster new on my best Salmon rod just waiting for the blighters to start running. I have been out a couple of times and it a superb caster. I can't wait to get some good fish on it.

Usually you turn the drag towards the front to tighten. This is true in many of the KastKing baitcasters.

You are correct, left handed reels have the reverse threaded handle shaft. If you have a right hand crank reel, it should not be reverse threaded. I was going to comment on that, but you beat me to it. Well spotted.

i don't yet have this reel or any kastking for that matter (key word is "yet") but i would assume like any other LMB sized baitcast reel i would go up to 80# braid including this 1 here

What techniques would a reel that fast be good at?

Definitely topwater or applications where you need a super fast retrieve. We also have heard that it is easier to slow your retrieve down than speed it up so, in theory, this reel could do it all! (We would like to think).

I use it for casting up river in fast current with big spinners. Gotta keep the blades spinning.

For goodness sake man, buy some spanners and a torque wrench. Oh yes, and some replacement disks for the drag... You're not supposed to use them twice and all clutch/drag holding nuts NEED to be torqued down...

I'm sure it is, indeed I've just ordered one, however you really shouldn't mangle brass nuts with a pair of pliers or reassemble clutches without a torque wrench...

We would agree. As the video mentions, be careful plus everyday anglers tend to not have access to the correct tools. Especially young anglers just getting into the sport.

You are probably the only person in the history of fisherman to advocate using a torque wrench to put a reel back together.

So how many drag disks do you crush in a year? Baitcasting reels are just about the most technically challenging bit of angling equipment you meet.
