Its no secret that in the last few years Kathleen Kennedy has become synonymous with frustration. Star Wars under her command has taken a serious nose dive and in this video we'll examine just how Kennedy got to the position that she has and why her presidency at Lucasfilm has been so bad for Star Wars.

@@TheDCbiz sweetheart! None of that has ever been substantiated. What’s most likely is they cherry picked select tweets and grouped the entire fandom around it. They’ve ran with this by casting minorities to the paint the fandom as toxic and shield themselves from criticism. The acolyte- they tried saying Lee Jung Jae is receiving racist feedback and there’s been literally no proof. Furthermore, when you become a public figure, you’re going to receive hate for one reason or another. Honestly this whole “justice for Lucasfilm” campaign you’re on, just makes you look pathetic. I recommend channels such as beyond the trailer, reel rejects, outlaw nation, etc. otherwise, you’re wasting your time. @@OsloTime It's not just her organizational skills. This video is very misleading imo. I agree Lucasfilm has been mismanaged and Kathleen is the wrong person for the job. I agree JJ and Rian were wrong for their jobs imo of being writers. Imo there is no problem with their directing just their writing. Imo I like their directing. Kathleen ON PAPER has done a good job. She hasn't done a GREAT job but good. In baseball terms she has a double not a home run. Yes the Skywalker saga kept declining in $ but each made a Billie. So on paper she did good, just not great except for the exception of force awakens. She has kept the star wars shows meeting their deadlines for Disney Plus and for the live action shows they still have among the highest viewership on Disney Plus besides the marvel shows. Sure quality wise us fans think the shows are terrible but as a producer her job is to make sure they meet their deadline, not quality. Quality is the job of the directors and writers and actors etc. Kathleens job as president of lucasfilm tho is to hire quality directors, writers, etc. imo she has failed at that part of the job. Kathleens job is not to know the lore, neither did George. He hired people whose job was to know the lore. He had a whole department of lore keepers who sorted out what was and wasn't canon.

KK never should have gotten the big credit for the great movies she is associated with. According to some sources, crew members would call Frank Marshall to get whatever they needed. He would have it there that afternoon. Since she was married to him, she got the praise. As for SW, she's taken an established franchise and changed it to make it her own. She even demands credit as the creator behind the new mess, and fails to see anything wrong with it. Bob Igor will keep her there in that position, because it wouldn't be politically prudent to bring down a woman with that much power. It doesn't matter how much they both lose for Disney, they will have to die or retire to get somebody different.

Executive Producer is a functionary, administrative credit at best, usually given to studio executives who worked on the project in some tangential way, or to civilians who came up with the budget for an expensive independent film. Producers always get far more credit than they deserve for the quality of a film -- they are professional bean counters, and nothing more. There are a LOT of misunderstandings about how film works for those outside of film, and producers having something to do with whether or not the movie is good is one of them. The producers pay the bills. That's it.

Even towards the end of the original trilogy the marketing/merch fiends had their hooks into Star Wars. There was no way the franchise was going to become anything other than the bilge it now is. I do not even remember the last movie I paid to go see. Being an old white guy means I am hated by Hollywood. They never miss a chance to degrade men, everywhere, always. That has been going on for quite some time and KK just weaponized the degradation to make a buck. Everything runs it's course and so will the current insanity. @Thomasmemoryscentral I'm sure in her mind, she thought she had a lot of creative input. I'm sure in the minds of a lot of people, KK had a huge impact on those movies. Since being put in total creative command at Lucasfilm, we can now see that she had zero creative input in any of the other movies she produced. She was nothing but a glorified gopher, a tea lady. Clearly all the creativity came from Spielberg and Lucas...and since KK took over Lucasfilm, the whole world knows this now as well. It must be deeply embarrassing for KK to stand up at the Disney upper management meetings and explain yet another Lucasfilm failure. Seriously, how do you tank Star Wars? It's almost impossible! My impressions/what I'd add is that 1) I think she's a misandrist, perhaps in part from dealing with men with large egos for so long, but she surrounds herself with women and/or subservient men, and 2) she's a political animal, using internal politics to gain/retain power as that is the likely explanation as to why she hasn't been fired and why she hired Leslye Headland (i.e., to be a lieutenant in her political army), and 3) she is a classic example of the Peter Principle, i.e., someone who has risen to the level of their own incompetence as a creative leader.

The Acolyte comes off so cheap & tacky.. It's not just the terrible writing & terrible acting. The whole thing is a complete self centered power trip.. It's horrible set design, horrible world building, horrible camera work. It all makes this show feel so small. Like it's filmed in a single green screen room.. Grasping at awful CGI techniques to try and force any bit of a false reality into this mess of a show. It's so far from Legitimate Star wars movies that it feels as if this whole thing is a big parody.. A very expensive parody.. These people have proven they are only capable of writing narcissistic stories that self insert themselves and their own beliefs into anything they do. Even if they get to make something from a pre-existing beloved story, they cannot help themselves. They seem to be incapable of creating artistic creations that stray away from their own personal perspective, instead of showing they can lean heavily into escapism and pure storytelling.. They have proven time and time again that they are not capable of doing anything even remotely close to that.. (which is weird because that should be one of the most important attributes that a director or a developer or an actor has in order to be successful at their job....?) How is there no one that will fire these people who openly hate the fans, hate the consumers who made their success in the first place.. These people who actively act like aggressive victims while also being a million times richer than anyone else. Yes they are the victims.. Poor them.. How can they afford to exist.. Compared to "The Acolyte" If you go back & watch "X-Men the Animated series" It was so well crafted. The story of the struggles of mutants having to deal with humanity was such a universally relatable storyline. Media back then was not afraid to face difficult topics head on. They found really unique ways to abstractly teach people life lessons. They touched on difficult situations & found intelligent ways to convey certain stories. Even when I was all grown up & rewatched it, it really felt like the story is crafted so well & executed at such a high level that anyone is capable of relating to it in someway or another. It's stuff like that, that we are deeply lacking nowadays. So much so that literal kid's cartoons from the 90's told deeper and more mature stories than most media nowadays. Stuff used to take pride in who can find the most creative ways to convey certain things. Who can give the audience certain feelings without overly explaining it. It used to not matter what kind of character, creature, species they were. What matters is that they found ways to convey artistic depictions of the Human condition. Creative ways that can connect us on a deeper level. This stuff we are seeing across the board when it comes to video games or different kinds of media really seems like we are seeing a horrible outcome of a awful trend where people keep getting positions, who in no way deserve those positions. It doesn't seem these people are hired based off of their talent or skill..? We are seeing very expensive shows, games, movies, with such terrible writing. Awful world design, character development, poor aesthetics. So much right now just feels overall creatively bankrupt and I really hope we all snap the f*ck out of it and get back to making better things. Better games better shows better movies

In fact, the only toxicity in the fanbase were because of the disingenuous journalists, media and corporations who hated George Lucas for daring to think outside the box that they vilified him and his work in both the special editions and prequel trilogy and lampooned the fans of his work in those projects (you know, the same disingenuous people who kissed up to Ms Kennedy and told lies how she did a good job because she preached the same politics they agreed with). And keep in mind, this is coming from the mouth of the woman who lied about honoring George Lucas' characters (she did the opposite and allowed those characters to be emasculated), lied about Darth Vader having a bigger role in Rogue One (he was barely in it), lied about there not being any source material to draw inspiration from (there were hundreds of books and video games that come out), lied about Luke being important to Last Jedi's story (doesn't contribute anything as Rey bests him at everything) and lie about how women have never worked on a Star Wars project (despite Marcia Lucas editing Star Wars, Bryce Dallas Howard directing episodes of the Mandalorian and Deborah Chow directing oll of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series). In a age where authenticity is the currency of the world, Kathleen Kennedy's word means nothing for all the lies she's told. In other words, her authenticity is completely broke.

@@suezcontours6653 which the vast majority of it was generated by the critics. Sure, there were some angry fan boys who contributed to the prequel hate like RLM, Chris Stuckman and the director of The People vs George Lucas. But back then, critics had more credibility and the general masses were inclined to listen to them since they believed that they knew what they were talking since they had an understanding of filmmaking. It's only in recent years that they've been exposed as frauds as nothing more than shills, who'll sacrifice their integrity just so they can get clout, early and backstage access to events or get paid handsomely for giving their lying opinions about a product. That's why there's a resurgence for the prequels as people are coming around and seeing for themselves that the prequels were poorly mistreated and are objectively good movies. Not great, but good. The lives that were ruined by the prequels were the result of the critics who influenced the big players in Hollywood. That's why Hayden Christiansen couldn't find much work after working on the prequels and why Natalie Portman lost work was because the major producers were inspired by the critics as to what was good or bad. If you don't like the prequels, that's fine. But they're not bad movies if you're basing it off of your feelings.

Creatively, Producers are like children who want to go to a Water Park because they saw other children having fun there. Then it's up to the Adults (Writers and Directors) to organize and create the event. Only in Kennedy's case, she's the spoiled child who is constantly dissatisfied with multiple details of the trip until everyone is miserable and doesn't want to be there. In general, the more Producers there are, the less entertaining (fun) a production is, unless a Producer is also Writer and/or Director. (an Adult in the room)

Wow, did you hit the nail on the head. Just as a single example, I recall how Leslye Headland said that she brought her initial script for Acolytes to KK and was told that it was a good beginning, but that KK told her that she wanted LH to make it an LH story, which LH did, i.e. a therapy session for LH. imho, KK is good at non-creative tasks, and was promoted past (way past) her competence level, she has no creative talent and can't identify those who do. I also wonder if KK consciously or subconsciously hated and resented her subservient position to George Lucas, and is exercising those feelings to destroy the heroes and world Lucas created. If so, she's done a grand job. Oh, and remember her husband is super powerful in Hollywood, and firing his wife (or any woman) is a problem.

She'll surely consult and stuff." So profoundly disappointing.

I think Kathleen Kennedy needs to get over the time George complained about her coffee on the set of Temple of Doom. There is no reason to make a sequel or sequels or series just to destroy what someone else has created and was loved by most people. Solo, I thought was okay, I was at least entertained by it; it was far more acceptable than the sequel trilogy as a whole, which says something about Ron Howard, who has worked with George previously. Either way I wouldn’t care if Disney fired her ass and deleted everything except the first two seasons of Mando, Rogue and Solo. (I haven’t seen Andor but heard good things about it). From there they could do a sequel trilogy based off those with combination of George’s original idea for the sequel trilogy; Star Wars monkeys in and we’re safe kid I like him anybody’s right or left or somewhere. I don’t think I really think we could have exactly what George planned; Carrie Fisher sadly has passed away and Harrison Ford really only came back to be killed anyway. Still could have shown the republic rebuilt and a new Jedi order that could be made up with other children and grandchildren of Jedi that survived order 66 plus other force wilders. Only to be challenged by Darth Maul and his apprentice.

A film Producer organizes the shooting--scheduling, materials, personnel issues, booking locations, stages, editing bays, music rooms for the original soundtrack, etc., etc. They do the overall logistics of making the film. They create and then try to maintain the schedule. The _budget_ and _financing_ of a film are handled by the _Executive Producer._ The Producer presents the requirements of the film to the Executive Producer who then attempts to put together the money required. _Wiggle room_ or _give-and-take_ will probably have to occur between the Director, the Producer and the Executive Producer. The Producer and Executive Producer are not "creatives." They are not artists or writers. They organize the money and the physical and personnel mechanisms of the movie. There seems to be a lot of confusion among the public at large about what a "producer" does across the entertainment industry because it varies from medium to medium. For instance, in television, an Executive Producer is the overall creative driving force of the show (unlike in movies where he or she is just the money person). In television news, a "producer" can be anything from a gopher to the Big Boss. There are also exceptions and modifications to titles occasionally. For instance, when trying to get _The Usual Suspects_ off the ground, Harvey Keitel became interested in seeing it made and succeed. He was very helpful in getting meetings arranged with studio executives and his interest in the project made it much more serious and attractive to them. So Bryan Singer and his partners in the project gave Keitel a credit as "Executive Producer" in gratitude, not because he came up with money himself but because he facilitated the process of getting the movie made. And that wasn't just a little pat on the back. That credit gave Keitel a "piece of the action" in the revenue of the film.

I had no idea I was subscribed to this channel but nevertheless I'm going to watch this here's how I feel about Kathleen Kennedy though At first when I began to learn about what she and her elk were doing I would think to myself yeah but whatever though even though they be canonized it I still have my Legends novels my audiobooks I'll be good I'll just write fanfiction I'll just talk to other Star wars nerds I don't have to partake in this let these people have what they want to have if they want some gay black Jedi who comes from a planet of all gay black men let them have their nonsensical garbage Now that was a theory brought up by IGN before the last Jedi but nevertheless the last Jedi came out it destroyed Luke Skywalker it destroyed Star wars it destroyed the continuity it gave us a diet Coke version of jacen solo and not even in a good way But while I was angry about it I thought that I would be able to just complain about it like I had other bits of the extended universe like dark empire for example but then when I complained and tried to give people Star wars properties that I liked and found intriguing and amazing I suddenly was called a bigot I was told that Star wars was never for me and to shut up Eventually I started getting angry Me being angry lasted for a while then eventually I just started getting objectively sad I went from wanting to punch holes in the walls every time I saw something new about Star wars to just sitting down and crying Not necessarily bawling my eyes out but just sitting down and silently letting the tears fall for a minute While I'm not as far gone in my opinion that's how I would word things but while I'm not as far gone as someone like neon from clownfish TV where I don't even care about old Star wars anymore or Legends continuity I feel like I'm done messing around with this Disney Star wars crap I'll continue to watch it I'll continue to watch them burn down what used to be a money maker but I'm not really going to raise any kind of fuss anymore I'm back to where I was in the beginning although I'm there in an apathetic way because before I would have been empatheticbecause back in the day I might have been empathetic to a Disney Star wars fan who might have come my way and said while I liked what they did up till blah blah blah point I don't like what they did anymore and now I kind of feel where you're coming from These days I would apathetically tell that person well this is what you asked for when you pushed fans like me away so go enjoy what you have I am going to sit here and listen to my extended universe audiobooks and I'm not going to pay people like you any mind anymore If Star wars dies it dies at least I'll have what's left of its corpse There are others who say that we should laugh and mock the new Disney Star wars crap but I think watching it even laughing and mocking it is still giving them what they want One way or another they're getting watch time I think Star wars should die a lonely death of apathy where nobody cares anymore nobody gets angry nobody gets sad they just don't say anything and it dies a lonely silent death falling down in the forest as a tree with no one around to hear the sound and then hopefully after that it becomes public domain and so people can write fanfictions about it and do things like that and not really worried about it being copyright infringement if they put it on KZbin or something Then and only then in my humble opinion will you see real Star wars nerds who have survived and stuck around and still tried to love the extended universe AKA Legends continuity those people will show themselves once again and they will make content that people will come to If this happens it will happen after the woke mind virus has left and it's become a part of the past that we laugh at and Mark sort of like how the satanic panic was and is And in my opinion that's the only real way forward I just don't think we're going to be able to depend on anybody to save Star wars Dave filoni is not going to save Star wars Disney isn't going to sell Star wars Elon musk is not going to buy and save Star wars some dude from some other country in South America isn't going to buy Star wars and it finally be safe some weirdo dude from South America isn't going to buy Star wars and it finally be saved from the clutches of the great Satan that is Kathleen Kennedy it's just going to die it doesn't make me happy to say this but I just know this it's going to die That is if it hasn't died already due to the kill shot that was Star wars the acolyte

Nerddom was a ghetto. you've suffered and been expelled into a space. A product was released and an audience formed, persisting even if it meant getting beaten up. The idea of being everything to everyone seems unrealistic. The Jane Austen fandom wouldn't be improved if adaptations needed to be for everyone. The complaint is that people whose interest is dishonest are claiming to be fans, then trying to alter the core appeal. The complaint is likely that nerds were punished. Then once their moment came, other people broke into their clubhouse and then presumed to lecture them about how their love of their franchise (the thing from which the franchise draws value) was incorrect. You kept star wars alive for 50 years, screw you. We're indulging the reylos, curb stomping the lore, and throwing in false advertising (sure carrie anne moss is a major character in the Acolyte.). Granted there's a certain irony or contradiction to nerds policing boundaries, but the basic mechanics of the force seems pretty central. If messing with Indiana Jones, it doesn't seem subjective to think making a new character better than him is cheap. If you were making a Moana sequel, it would be weird to say 'since some fans want r-rated violence (and we can point to three on a fan fiction website), we wouldn't want to assert that there's a correct position on what makes a fan.'

Kathleen Kennedy has damaged Lucasfilm irrevocably. Fans of Indiana Jones and Star Wars need to move on. The disaster has turned from tragedy to comedy. Laughter is the appropriate response now, not tears. Even if Kennedy were to be fired now, this would make little difference. The goodwill of fans she has squandered by producing one disappointing product after another. Consequently, the audience that made Lucasfilm successful is now gone, and the modern audience Kennedy has pursued now proves to be an illusion. No one remains at Lucasfilm capable of making an engaging movie. It almost seems as if Kennedy celebrates the creative castration of the company George Lucas turned over to her. The films she now directs her company to make reflect her petty resentments and her shallow sexual politics. Bob Iger has allowed her to do this, so he shares the blame. In my view, there is nothing Disney and Lucasfilm can do to bring the audience back. The toxicity lies with Disney and Lucasfilm, not with the fans. The fans have just moved on.

Its odd that people my age are defending the prequel trilogy. Those movies are terrible, and that's why I never bothered with watching Disney's Star Wars. My Star Wars days ended when George Lucas updated the original trilogy in the 90's. It's funny how people keep praising series that "ended" then but have been repurposed for a quick buck today. Stop watching the remakes, prequels, sequels, reimaginings, etc. Especially if it's Disney or a streaming service original. Disney has the biggest share, but Amazon and Netflix have no qualms about destroying an old franchise for a quick membership boost.

George Lucas's Star Wars prequel trilogy is a pure masterpiece, a wonderful, magnificent, exciting, significant, and extremely rich work that has greatly contributed to the story, universe, characters, lore, and mythology of Star Wars. They are the best, the greatest movies of all time, a great cult and exciting trilogy from start to finish. It's the Star Wars as George Lucas always wanted it to be. It's the best Star Wars trilogy, the greatest Star Wars trilogy, the richest, most accomplished, most complete, the best period; everything is superb: the deepening of the Star Wars universe and its narrative elements are superb and exciting, and it explores in detail the period of the Clone Wars, a crucial moment in Star Wars history. A fundamental and exciting turning point. The Clone Wars period is the best period of Star Wars. The fascinating plot that unfolds throughout the films. The rise of Palpatine, Darth Sidious, is masterfully depicted. His behind-the-scenes machinations to undermine the Galactic Republic and bring the galaxy under his control are meticulously presented. His manipulation to form a massive clone army and eradicate the Jedi with Order 66 is a central element of the story, explaining how the Galactic Empire took shape following the fall of the Republic and how Anakin fell to the dark side to become Darth Vader, a fallen hero who just wanted to save those he loved. Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader is a superb, memorable, breathtaking scene. The connection with the original trilogy is very well done. Anakin's internal conflict between his loyalty to the Jedi Order and his desire to save those he loves makes his story deep and tragic. His journey to the dark side, with key moments such as his confrontation with Count Dooku and his heartbreaking final duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar. The prequel trilogy also brought invaluable richness to the Star Wars universe, with a detailed look at the Jedi Order, Padawan training, Sith, combat mastery, and Jedi teachings. The spotlight on the Sith and their philosophy strengthened the dark side of the Force, adding depth and complexity to the saga. The political aspect of the prequel adds a new dimension to the Star Wars universe, with Palpatine's machinations in the Galactic Senate and growing tensions between planetary systems, creating a richer context for the later events of the Original Trilogy, the rise of the Empire, the fall of the Republic, the extinction of the Jedi, and Anakin Skywalker's tragic story. The expansion of the universe is also great. New planets, races, creatures, peoples, and cultures are introduced, contributing to creating a larger and more diverse world. Iconic locations such as Kamino, Geonosis, Utapau, Felucia, and Mustafar provide visually captivating backdrops for action scenes, development, and key plot moments. Beloved and iconic characters, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Padmé Amidala, Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, General Grievous, Jango Fett, Watto, Sebulba. The action scenes and lightsaber battles are among the most memorable in the saga. Epic battles such as the Battle of Geonosis, the podrace on Tatooine, the Battle of Naboo, and the battle above Coruscant are very memorable and iconic of the saga. The lightsaber duels between iconic characters such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Darth Maul, and Yoda are executed with exceptional choreography, adding a visceral dimension to the story. The prequel also enriches the Star Wars lore with new charismatic and endearing characters, unforgettable music, "Duel of the Fates," "Across the Stars," "Battle of the Heroes," a super rich, exciting, and comprehensive lore, and a talented cast of actors, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Liam Neeson. Natalie Portman is superb, magnificent, sweet, sensual, and charismatic, giving her character Padmé Amidala queen and senator of Naboo an exemplary strength, determination, and courage. She's perfect, she's iconic. Her evolution from a queen to a senator, into a badass, elegant, and determined woman, is a central characteristic of the trilogy. Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson bring memorable class and presence to the screen. Their dynamic as Jedi Masters is palpable, and they convey a wisdom and determination that anchor the story in the Jedi legacy. Additionally, Christopher Lee's presence as Count Dooku adds a touch of class, elegance, and charisma, amplified by his Shakespearean speech. The prequel was the rejuvenation of the Star Wars saga, bringing real dramatic scope, real political context, stakes, new superb and iconic characters, iconic action scenes, a much richer universe, a more developed, more diverse universe, and a much more extensive universe. It expanded the lore of the saga, and complements the original trilogy being inseparable from it. The Star Wars prequel is a masterpiece, and the Star Wars trilogy is a masterpiece and together form an incredible whole, a single great story of exceptional galactic epic. The story of Anakin Skywalker, from his Jedi training to his fall to the dark side of the Force to his redemption as a Jedi by saving his son, destroying the Sith, and restoring balance to the Force. The story of the Galactic Empire, once a democratic Republic, and the story of Palpatine, his evolution from senator to chancellor to becoming the emperor of the galaxy, his manipulations to establish his authority in the senate, to create his own Galactic Empire, to overthrow the Jedi Order, and to keep Anakin with him as an apprentice. and the technological advancement towards digital, modern technologies, computer editing, special effects, to create new worlds, new extraordinary and extraordinary world-building, new peoples and to build the extraordinary story of the Star Wars prequel, a true expanded, gigantic, extremely rich universe, with infinite possibilities, exploring new planets, new peoples, new civilizations, new technologies, new worlds, just like Avatar.

They are unparalleled, the ultimate in sci-fi, the greatest films of all time, featuring the best characters, the best actors, the best casts, the best scenes, the best universe, and the best stories. They embody the greatest wealth, expansion, and creativity within this universe, with planets, environments, creatures, peoples, and world-building that revolutionized cinema. The technological advancements in special effects, digital enhancements, and computer editing are unparalleled. Two epic trilogies, mythical, magical, exceptional, and timeless, complement each other perfectly, forming an inseparable whole. It's the story of Anakin Skywalker, his evolution, his descent into the dark side of the Force, and his redemption by sacrificing himself to save his son, destroying the Sith and restoring balance to the Force. It depicts the rise and fall of a dictatorship, the transformation from democracy to dictatorship, within one vast, expansive, thrilling, and incredibly rich universe with endless possibilities. It's the magnificent, unparalleled, and timeless universe created by George Lucas, a wonderful, legendary, mythical work, a monument of science fiction.

@natalieportmanfan1817 I disagree. The acting was terrible, the script was a mess, the direction was basic, and action was boring, and it was really an excuse for Lucas to show off CGI. Enjoy the "universe." Because of the prequels, we now have Disney destroying the franchise and expanding the story into the worst thing: a typical waste of time.

I disagree. The acting was great, with Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Christopher Lee, Samuel L. Jackson and Ian McDiarmid embodying their characters with depth, charm, charisma, distinctive voices and strong personalities, making them incredibly compelling. Ewan McGregor's portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi captured the character's transition from a young Jedi to the wise mentor seen in the original trilogy, infusing the role with a mix of humor, gravity, and resilience. Natalie Portman was perfect in the role of Queen Padmé Amidala the true senator of Naboo, with her strong screen presence, beauty, intelligence, charisma, and a voice that was both powerful and gentle. She embodied a true strong woman, badass, courageous, romantic, with a strong personality, and a genuine independent leader. Natalie Portman’s performance balanced strength and vulnerability, highlighting her character’s dedication to democracy and the personal cost of her political life. Christopher Lee brought a dignified menace to Count Dooku, combining elegance with a palpable threat. Samuel L. Jackson’s Mace Windu exuded authority and intensity, offering a formidable presence in the Jedi Council. Ian McDiarmid's Palpatine was a masterclass in subtlety and malevolence, portraying a gradual shift from a seemingly benevolent leader to the ultimate embodiment of evil. The script was highly ambitious, weaving a rich tapestry of political intrigue and character development that set the stage for the original trilogy. It detailed the political rise of Palpatine, the creation of the Galactic Empire, the Clone Wars, the intricate political machinations, the fall of the Jedi Order and Anakin's descent to the dark side of the Force. The narrative drew on a wide range of mythological, philosophical, and cultural influences, enriching the story with deeper meanings and resonances. The tragic romance of Anakin and Padmé echoes the star-crossed lovers of Romeo and Juliet, capturing the tension between personal desires and greater destinies. Their love story is marked by secrecy, forbidden love, and the ultimate tragedy of their separation and downfall, reflecting the classic Shakespearean themes of love and loss intertwined with fate. Palpatine's manipulation of the political system and his rise to power bear striking similarities to Adolf Hitler's ascent and the establishment of the Third Reich, illustrating how democracies can fall to dictatorial regimes. Palpatine uses fear, propaganda, and political cunning to amass power, much like Hitler did, showing how fragile democratic institutions can be when faced with charismatic and manipulative leaders. Anakin's journey can be seen through the lens of the Oedipus complex, as he grapples with his destiny, his relationships with parental figures, and the prophecy that hangs over him. His complex relationship with figures like Obi-Wan and Palpatine mirrors the struggle for paternal approval and the conflict between his own desires and his destined path. His eventual fall and redemption parallel the stories of both Oedipus and Jesus, embodying themes of sacrifice, betrayal, and eventual atonement. Like Oedipus, Anakin's attempts to avoid his fate only lead him to fulfill it, and like Jesus, his suffering leads to a form of redemption and hope for the future. The myth of Prometheus is echoed in Anakin's quest for knowledge and power, and his eventual punishment and suffering for overreaching. Anakin, much like Prometheus who stole fire from the gods, seeks to transcend his human limitations by acquiring forbidden knowledge and power, ultimately leading to his downfall and immense suffering. The transformation of the Galactic Republic into the Empire also mirrors the creation of the Roman Empire. The prequels show the Republic's decay through political corruption, civil unrest, and the concentration of power in a single ruler, paralleling the historical shift from the Roman Republic to the autocratic Roman Empire under Augustus. This analogy highlights the cyclical nature of history and the constant threat of authoritarianism. George Lucas's direction was amazing, blending visual storytelling with groundbreaking techniques. The action sequences were thrilling, featuring masterfully choreographed lightsaber duels, such as the intense battle between Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon and Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace. This duel is incredible for its dynamic choreography and emotional stakes, highlighted by John Williams' iconic Duel of the Fates score. Revolutionary special effects were incorporated into large-scale battle scenes like the Battle of Geonosis in Attack of the Clones, where hundreds of Jedi fought against droid armies, combining live-action and CGI seamlessly. Digital innovations were pushed further with the creation of fully digital characters like Yoda, who went from a puppet in the original trilogy to a fully CGI character in the prequels. This allowed for more expressive and dynamic performances, such as Yoda's duel with Count Dooku in Attack of the Clones. Epic battles, such as the climactic duel between Anakin and Obi-Wan on Mustafar in Revenge of the Sith, showcased George Lucas's ability to blend intense personal drama with visually stunning action utilizing cutting-edge technology to create a believable and emotionally charged volcanic environment. The prequels made perfect use of special effects to create immersive worlds, expanding the open-world construction of Star Wars with new species, technologies, societies, and imaginative creatures that broadened the Star Wars universe. For instance, the underwater city of Otoh Gunga in The Phantom Menace introduced the Gungans and their unique aquatic society, with breathtaking visuals that combined CGI and practical effects to create a believable, alien environment. The city-planet of Coruscant was fully realized with towering skyscrapers, bustling air traffic, and diverse urban landscapes, showcasing the advanced digital effects that brought the central hub of the galaxy to life. The planet Kamino, with its endless oceans and advanced cloning facilities, introduced the Kaminoans, whose sleek design and otherworldly appearance were made possible through groundbreaking CGI. The diverse environments of planets like Geonosis, with its insect-like inhabitants and massive droid factories, and Mustafar, with its volcanic terrain, were all products of cutting-edge special effects that created visually distinct and immersive settings. The introduction of species such as the Geonosians and technological innovations like the clone troopers and their equipment demonstrated the prequels' ability to expand the Star Wars universe significantly. Creatures such as the acklay, nexu and reek in the Geonosis arena, or the majestic varactyl Boga ridden by Obi-Wan on Utapau in Revenge of the Sith, have also brought imaginative designs to life through a revolutionary combination of CGI to expand the diverse universe of the Star Wars world. The prequels are not responsible for Disney's handling of the franchise. They laid a solid foundation and enriched the Star Wars saga by introducing complex themes, deepening the mythology, creating a truly immersive open world, presenting strong political stakes, and featuring iconic characters. @@jplopp7388

Indiana Jones. Tier list: 1.The Last Crusade 2.Raiders of the Lost Ark I despise Temple of doom and the fourth one. Temple had a highly irritating and weak female lead (especially compared to Mirrian and Slala :P ) ,the bar + musical show was utterly repulsive and I recoil from the dark, evil, Indian/Hinduism setting , I would have loved if they focused a much less on the rituals/slave camps and more on the adventures, boobytraps, obstacles of the jungle. The ancient aliens BS of 4 was just dog shit. The Last Crusade remains one of my all time favourite films. It captures the essence of adventure and Early 1900s exploration of evocative/alluring historic cultures. A man allowed to be a man , to explore the captivating world that God created for him. The film allows you to feel wonder, excitement, curiosity…and hope. Just like The Mummy/Lord of the Rings, its ideas and basis are Biblical/Historical , hence why they are such masterpieces. Modern ‘’Reimaginings’’ of these films lack the Biblical base which made them so captivating, that are instead replaced by a base formed from the agenda of the Woke Feminazi cult. Hence why they are all such hot garbage. Imagination and good storytelling is dead, the passion for writing a good/inspired story is non-existent in Western ‘’entertainment’’ companies. When a talented, intellectual individual has a passion for something, they will write a story so good, gripping , engaging ,complex and well thought out that it will become a point of note all on its own. Such as ‘’Lawrence of Arabia.’’, ‘’Lord of the Rings’’, ''Brave Heart'', ‘’Inception’’ ,’’The Prince of Egypt.’’,’’Phantom of the Opera’’,’’The Mummy’’ ’’Last of the Mohicans’’ ,’’Silence of the Lambs’’ , ‘’Lord of War’’,’’Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’’ ,’’The English Patient.’’ , ‘’Edge of Tomorrow.’’ A story / film so brilliant, it does not require a sequel/franchise , it is art perfected in one take. Writing a good/inspired story is now an anathema in Hollywood, for Hollywood/Western ‘’entertainment’’ companies has become a machine with but two objectives: 1.Greed - churning out shitty, rushed, unimaginative franchise film one after the other (Marvile) like a Chinese sweatshop production line ,just to rake in the cash, regardless of the cheap, trashy quality. 2. To spread the propaganda of the cult that has infested the West. ‘’The Shadow that bred them can only mock,it cannot make: not real things of its own. I don’t think it gave life to Orcs, it only ruined them and twisted them…’’ - Frodo, The Return of the King. Evil Is Sterile. It cannot create, cannot imagine or have new ideas, certainly cannot produce new forms of life, It may be able to propagate, but only in the manner of The Virus or The Corruption, by turning everything into more of itself. Beings who have fallen under evil control, whether they are Reforged into a Minion or taken over by their Superpowered Evil Side, become cruder and twisted versions of themselves. They may gain power, but they lose crucial aspects that once made them special, and will probably not behave very intelligently. Ultimately, the hope of this kind of evil is to, at best, corrupt the whole world into being just like itself, and at worst, destroy everything. The possibility of making something new and different is anathema to it. 1 Corinthians 15:33 - Don’t be deceived, bad company corrupts good character. Isaiah 5:20 - 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! 23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! Just imagine a world where we could have an entire trilogy of Indiana Jones starring Bradley Cooper. Where artistic, entertaining narrative driven writing was NOT dead and not replaced by braindead ,greedy, scaly skinned , 60 year old self obsessed/secretly self loathing female propaganda writers….. Ugh… at least we'll always have Raiders + the superb Last Crusade. Riding off into the Sunset with his father truly was the perfect ending for Indiana. Thank you Spielberg you truly are a visionary artist.
