Thank you for doing this interview. I rarely get to see or hear from Vice-President Harris. I felt that way about VP Mike Pence also. He is a man that I may not agree with his politics but I deeply respect him. I was horrified when people wanted to harm him. The vitriol towards these these two VPs is shocking to me.

The answer to the question about late term abortions should have been made crystal clear. Women are NOT walking into doctors’ offices and demanding abortions in the 3rd trimester on some reckless whim (and to suggest that’s the reason is profoundly insulting). Late term abortions are always due to severe abnormalities or extreme risk to the life of the mother. They are heartbreaking to those who have to face that choice.

⁠@@ac.2826 Roe v Wade provided absolute right to abortion in the 1st trimester only. So no, the feds are not involved in late term abortions (late term refers to pregnancies beyond 20 weeks - a full term pregnancy is 40 weeks by the way, so more than 9 mos). Per Roe, from the first athe second trimester on individual states have the right to impose their own restrictions. Overturning Roe meant that states now have the right to regulate/impose restrictions on a pregnancy any time and pretty much at will. In some states laws are in the pipeline to make leaving a state to seek an abortion illegal (similar to slavery-era fugitive laws ). Unsurprisingly Florida at some point was famously seeking to create a central database to track the cycles of certain reproductive age women as well (this was struck down). So no, women don’t just waltz in to demand abortions - and if there’s one at a later state of the pregnancy it’s because doctors advised it due to some pretty tragic reasons.

We were advised to abort as late as a week before my son was born. The pregnancy was "not viable". Long story short, my son is 19 years old, fully functional, not deformed and a 100% "normal" kid going through college. I agree with others opinion, and also agree with abortion in certain instances. The problem is my personal experience creates a huge "what if....?" As far as incest , rape I agree and leave that up to her.
