On December 26, 2006, on the BBC TV show "Duet Impossible", Katie sings the Judy Garland classic "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" with Eva. The special feature of this song is not only the wonderful interplay of these two unique voices, the genesis is also very special. Right after I discovered Eva by accident as most of us did in the early days, I listened to her for hours. But now her performances and knowing she is no longer here is almost too emotional. But I do listen now and then only to be reminded how truly gifted she was. And not much is said of her guitar playing, but just listen to it. It is perfect for her voice.

It is really sad that so many people commenting are criticizing Katie Melua (I honestly have almost no idea who she is) because she "isn't" Eva. No kidding. Katie has a beautiful voice and it is obvious that Eva is an inspirational force in Katie's life and career. I am guessing that we all love Eva's music and her legacy. Eva was a once in a generation talent, and I think she would be humbly honored to be having such an impact decades after she crossed over, on us as well as on Katie Melua. Let's just enjoy this performance for what it is and appreciate the heart and soul that went into it, from Eva and from Katie. To find fault with KM's performance here is to reveal a paucity of heart, not to say a tin ear. Her harmonies are as gentle and artful as could be desired by harold Arlen himself.
