Many Chinese parents are not like this, they interfere too much in their children's lives. I hope my children will live according to their wishes. No matter how much the child endures crying outside. They care too much about what people around them say. They always hope that their children can go out and make their families feel honored. I believe that the first requirement is for children to have a sense of responsibility. When you reach adulthood, you cannot rely on your parents and take on your responsibilities. Don't burden others. On this basis, allow children to freely choose the life they want. Whether it's poverty or wealth. As long as they feel happy themselves. I am very unhappy working in government departments. But parents believe that this is a long-term stable job and are not allowed to resign. However, my life is full of darkness. I prefer to start my own business. And if one's choice is wrong. I bear all the consequences. As long as it doesn't burden others.

How did a quiet and shy couple such as your parents raise such an engaging, outgoing and adventurous woman? They did a fantastic job with your family. Thank you Mom and Dad for sharing your thoughts on Katherine living in China. China is very fortunate to have her there, to work on improving the nation and to share with us so much of its varied cultures we would otherwise not see. With that said, Katherine, I really feel you were Chinese in your past lives. Your connection with the land and people is so deep and natural. Since China has and always being merchandising nation despite confucius disapproval, it makes sense to advice your parents to carry only essential items and travel light so on their China trip they can shop till they drop with the generous 2 pieces luggage allowance. My visit to US had me investigating and wondering about an additional luggage piece with same conclusion. I rejected it outright because I would have to fill it😬

Lovely to see you going through this stage of your life Katherine, the angst of living separately from your folks. My wife, a Brit has now lived in Malaysia for more than 40 years and we have 2 children who are older than you in Oz. It's so wonderful to see you so happy in China and we enjoy your vlogs. You and people like Cyrus Janssen are the best ambassadors of America and we hope you carry on your important work for world peace and cultural understanding. Our daughter has an American husband. You're most welcome in our home if you ever come by Kuala Lumpur. Lots of love, Kua Kia Soong (google & KZbin)

@ 4:26 Katherin asks mom what is it like to have a child living on the other side of the world. Her mom looks at the camera and says: - ¨It's hard sometimes and sometimes it's easier" Katherine, tell your mom that she won my respect! Honest, sincere, and wise!

Dying at the lumbering behemoth. I took an Amtrak with my family once...we arrived at our destination 2 DAYS late! So sad that the US lost its train culture. Such a big country has so much potential to have a great rail system, just as it did in the past.

Thank you for sharing their thoughts about having you live so far away. I know that most parents are torn when their kids move (far) away from home. I love the sights and sounds - with you showcasing a beautiful civil war era town. And the bonus clip was priceless...

As long as they have a good connection with their people. I've seen families who live together but argue a lot and don't like each other that much. I also think living countries apart is okay, when u visit them, they'll have a lot to show you and vice-versa. It becomes more fun in a way.

Parents wishes: we don’t care how small or big our kids would achieve in their careers, as long as they have a job and making simple living wherever they at as long as they are healthy, happy and safe, that’s all matters. America is not the America is used to be nowadays, been thinking of moving the kids back to China .

Dear Katherine, many thanks for such a fantastic and enjoyable vlog about your hometown in Fairfax, VA. You have such humble, open-minded and wonderful parents. And they have certainly raised you up to be an intelligent and beautiful lady with a very charming personality. When your parents visit China, take them to visit Kuching, Malaysia on the island of Borneo. Wishing you and your parents good health and happiness. Blessings🕊🕊🕊 Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
